Question about faq "Cost Endurance"
from the Faq under Limitations Costs Endurance Q: Could a character apply a Costs Endurance Only To Activate Limitation (-1/4) on a power that normally does not cost END? Is this a rule?
Okay I do not own every book (money is tight) so is there a rule for the following (Note I do not see it in 5th edition) an activation roll that must be rolled once everytime a constant power is used instead of every phase? I would guess if there was it would reduce the value of the limitation by 1/2

Telekinesys, Fire and Gases
Hy, in my Fantasy Hero campaign one of the player had to "move a fire" vith a spell, (he use a VPP to improvise spells). I own a copy of the FH grimoire, but I had not carried it with me, so we started thinking about the problem. Later on, at home, I've checked the FAQ and the book. I've found in the FAQ, regarding Telekinesys and gases that it has to be used an Adder and AOE. In the FH Grimoire, there's a spell "Fireshaping" at page 92, that was exectly what we needed^_^, but it has a completely different logic (or at least so it seems), and I believe that it is due to the "lack" of weight in the fire. adding Cost end to characteristic bought with powers
I am making a robot hero with Multiform and I want to make it so that he can only be it each form a limited amount of time. I am doing this by buying all his characterisitics through powers and taking cost end every phase. My question is with this limitation do the characteristics cost end when he is just siting around. Or would they all cost end when he was active, would they just cost end when he did an characteristic related task, combat for almost all stats, dex and speed when flying, blah blah blah... Tell me what you think please.

Throwing Characters around
Sorry if Someone answered this already but Im a little stumped in my Champions game. I have a character that would like to use his TK to grab another character and throw him/her into another character. Though this seemed simple at first I found myself with a lot of questions. What maneuvers are required? Grab and Martial throw? When, if at all, would the opponent be able to resist the grab? Would the thrown character work like an object on the STR table as far as distance thrown? How would you calculate damage for the thrown character and the character he/she was thrown into? Variable advantages...
Can the variable advantages...advantage....at say the +1 level(giving you your choice of +1/2 advantages) be used to give said power the variable special effects advantage? Rob

Are HKA and RKA really different powers...
...in regards to Aid? If I want to aid a killing attack, do I have to buy the aid twice if I want it to effect both ranged and hand-to-hand killing attacks?

Knockback
If an attack is built with Only Causes STUN (+0), does this attack do Knockback? Also, to clarify, does Double Knockback double the BODY of an attack before defenses are applied or after?

Can a Dependence Stun a character?
Can the Stun lost due to a non-fulfilled Dependence Stun the character? I would think not, as the Dependence is technically affecting the character the entire time -- it's just that it's "saved up" for each time period to facilitate bookkeeping. Otherwise, a character with a large # of D6, and long duration, Dependence could be just walking along fine one Phase, and the next, Whammo! Makes little sense to me that way.

Resisting Knockback
After a quick search of the FAQ, and with no books in front of me, here come some knckback questions: 1. Bracing with STR. I know I don't spend END again for STR if I already used it. Please advise on the following: (a) Is Brace for Impact a use of the Brace combat maneuver? ie 0 phase, but reduces DCV? ( I believe I must specify the direction from which the Knockback will come, so if my opponent attacks from a different angle, the Bracing for KB has no effect, correct? 2. Rooting with Flight: I know that only inches I don't use for movement that phase can be used to root, and that they cost regular END for using Flight, so that's easy.…

Multiple Speeds on Clairvoyant movement
Character is able to move his Clairvoyant viewpoint across a room or to another continent quickly. Megascale is obviously needed for the Trans-Continental moves. Should this be applied to the mobile adder as an advantage? -would that make the in-room move inpossible? As a variable advantage? As a naked advantage? Thanks in advance, Steve

I was concerned that paying 5 pts for duplicate item would stop them from being concidered to different items because they were merely duplicates of each other.

Question on Gorgon
I don't know if this is the right forum for this question. In Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth, Gorgon has +6 OCV with Sweep, Only With Tail -1/4 for 14 pts. I thought the smallest CSL you could put a limitation on is 5pts. Am I reading this wrong or how was this written up? Thanks Clint

EB Combined with HtH (Follow up)
"What you may want is an "energy weapon" with one EB slot (for Ranged use) and one HA slot (for adding to HTH STR damage)." - Steve Thanks, Steve. It turned out that the PC in question was using HtH Attack in the MP slot after all. The Player had listed the power as EB... hence my confusion. ags

EB combined with HtH
Ok, dumb question time and I apologize in advance. I looked through FReD and couldn't find an answer (including Multiple Power Attack, Compound Powers in the FAQ, as well as under Energy Blast and Hand Attacks). 1) If a PC has an EB, defined as a mystical weapon created out of energy, can this EB be automatically added to the PC's HtH to create a single attack? 2) If so, where would I find the rules regarding such a combined attack? 3) If not, is there an Advantage one could buy to make such an attack? 4) Doesn it matter if the EB is defined as Energy or Physical? 5) What if the EB was bought in a MP slot? And now a question regarding Frameworks
Currently there is a rule in place that stats that a power in one framework cannot stack with a power in another, the example that was given was a slot in a Multipower stacking with a power in an Elemental control. However, what about Adjustment powers, particularly Aids, Absorptions, and Transfers. As an example, lets say you have a Multipower and a VPP, does this rule against one Framework effecting another prohibit the use of the VPP to create an Aid power that boosts a slot in the Multipower?

Clarification on Adjustment powers
pg 74 of 5E states that when the points in an adjustment power in a Multipower or Variable Power Pool is shifted to another power, the power or characteristic that the adjustment power affected fades at the standard rate. For my question let say as an example that the fade rate for an adjustment power has been lowered to a fade of say 5 per day, is that the standard rate when the points are shifted?

Multiple items
If you have two gadgets, say twin swords with multi-powers inside, would you be able to use a slot off each item at full power in the same phase? Say a darkness or invis off one sword, and a EB off another?

Weapon Damage with Martial Arts
How exactly does one caculate damage with a weapon if using a martial arts maneuver? For example: A warrior with a 20 STR using a Great Sword. Lets say this warrior has "weapon element" with his sword fighting style and +4 to his Damage Class with said style. Now he does a "martial strike" vs. an ememy. How would you calculate the damage done. Thanks Steve.

Adder END cost follow-up
Sorry about this, but rereading my previous post I noticed that I left out the important part of the question. Basically, I was wondering how Endurance is apploed to powers that have Adders. Example: 10" Flight with x32 NCM. If you use the full movement (wether going non-combat or not) you would pay 4 END, right? (10" flight = 20 AP; +4 level of NCM = 20 AP; 30 AP = 4 END) So what happens if the character only does a half-move?: Does he pay 2 (half of 4 END)? Or does he pay 3 END? (10" Flight + x32 NCM = 30 AP) Just want to make sure...

Adder END cost
A character has an 2d6 Aid , Can Add up to 30 points; Continuous (+1) [58 AP]; Cost Endurance (-½). This power cost the character 6 END every phase. Once he hits the maximum, of 30 pts, he wants to maintain the power without it costing him the full 6 END. If he wanted to pay for only 1d6 Aid, it would still cost him 4 END, right? (10 AP for 1d6 Aid, +9 for extra maximum, x2 = 38 AP) (This assumes that if he lets the power lapse, he would loose an action because activating an Aid is concidered an attack action, even when you use it on yourself.)

Linking and Continuous
Wondering if the following would be legal Inside an EC Slot I have a KA with a linked Drain - so when I use the KA the Drain also goes off. (It's a Bite Attack with a Blood Drain(Body) linked to it) What I'm wondering is if it's possible to use a Naked Advantage to apply to just the Drain aspect of the linked power, or even just Continuous on it by itself. Or does Continuous have to be applie to the entire thing? This also came up as a question from I know under the rules it states a Constant Power only goes off when an Instant power goes off when they are Linked. If that's not legal to make part of a link power Continuous (I have a feeling it's not) …

Of Hand Attacks and Hand Killing Attacks
I'm hoping this is the proper forum to post this question. If not, please direct me to the proper venue. I know how to add the damage class of my strength to an advantaged hand attack or advantaged hand killing attack. That is clearly explained on page 272 of FRED. What I dont know is why an advantaged hand killing attack is treated differently from an advantaged hand attack. Will you please explain this? Don't get me wrong, I play a superhero character with an advantaged hand attack (6d6 One Hex Area Effect, No END Cost, Hand Attack with a 30 STR) so I'm not complaining about the rules (and neither was my GM).
