Selective AOE with 1 Hex AOE
Can this be done? For example, can you build an attack as a barrage of missiles that covers a huge Area of Effect, then buy "selective" for the advantage so that you need to make attack rolls, then make these attack rolls affect one hex?

Basic Multiple Power Attack Question
1. If I buy two blaster pistols, can I shoot both at one target with a Multiple attack action? 2. Does it matter if I pay full points for the first pistol and 5 points for the second? 3. Where does the 5 point for the duplicate gadget come from? 4. What kind of negatives would there be? I assume the second attack would be at -3 for being off handed.... Thanks for you help!

Area Of Effect Question
This may already be in one of the books or DH issues, but I'm blanking on it. Is there a modifier to Area Of Effect that allows one to vary the size of the Area? I'm thinking of an Area Of Effect (Radius) that would allow the user to vary from 1" Radius to the normal size of the Radius (1"/10 AP). Thanks!

Please Disregard previous post
Someone in the HD thread answered my question. There was no way to edit my previous post so there it is in all of it's angry glory. Sorry to waste your time, Tasha

Mental Paralysis
I have just finished a rather condesending discussion with Dan about the Advantage "Works against EGO not Str +1/4" I was informed that since the advantage "Wasn't Defined" that it would not be part of HD. Now to me if the book says to use an Advantage the *&%$^ character creation program SHOULD have it as a standard option NOT a "Custom modifier" The rules question: what is the defination of this Advantage? and is really required for Mental paralyzis? Takes No Stun and Automaton Destruction
This came up in our game last night: We were fighting some automatons that had been built with the 60pt version of Takes No Stun. We seemed to have stuck on the "when is an automaton with that level of TNS destroyed". Is it rendered inoperable at 0 body like the 45 pnt version is or does it have to be driven down to -body before it it's no longer a threat?

That's one dead couch
Assuming you can deal a mental haymaker with your Ego Attack after snagging a distant mind with an excellent Mind Scan roll, how does the target's movement affect this? If they were sitting on their couch on the other side of the planet, for example, when the mind scan caught them (without +20 "cannot detect" being used, of course) and they realised they were about to be ego attacked really hard, can they avoid the attack by getting up from the couch, thus leaving the hex--even though distance and location were irrelevent to begin with? On a related note, if you've bought "does Knockback" for your ego attack in the above example, what direction would the target be kn…

G&G Question: REQ Mult. Charges
Want to see if this makes sense. According to pg 6 you take it up 1/4 for each step up on the table. The example given is 16 charges, a slot csts 4 (instead of 1) would get -1 1/4....wouldn't it be -1 1/2? 0 steps is 13-17, -1 step (or -1/4) is 8-12 and 2 steps gets into the 3-7 range (or -1 1/2). Or am I reading it wrong?

NND/AVLD vs Flash Defense
Since a character who's already been Flashed can't be Flashed again and has effectively infinite Flash defense, would a character who has already been Flashed be immune to NND/AVLD attacks vs Flash Defense? If the answer to the above is yes, what happens if a character has a NND/AVLD vs Flash Defense with a Flash attack Linked? Does that effectively go "second" and thus do no damage if the Flash succeeds?

Transform Damage
I've read the book, the FAQ and debated with my GM all week .. and we're still a bit confused so. When using a Major Transform "Into Powerless Puddle of Goop" on Standard Super Guy who's 350pts to make him the aformentioned PPoG which is a 0pt thing.. do you have to do 2 x (BODY + 1/5 Points Lost) as you would if increasing the characters total points? Or just 2x the BODY?

Transform
Transform mentions that the target cannot be turned into anything that can't survive very long, but I'm curious as to how this is judged. Does the power automatically know if the target will have trouble (such as a goldfish in the desert) or is this just a clause to keep sadistic characters from transforming humans into "humans with no blood"?

Figuring CV from DEX
Greetings, Steve. It's not so much a rules question but a curiosity question. Why is CV calculated differently from the DEX roll? Why did the designers make Attack Rolls different from Skill Rolls? They could've made Attack Rolls like Skill vs. Skill rolls, but they didn't. What was the reasoning behind such decisions?

Turn Modes and Movement skill levels
Okay, normaly a character has 5 60 degree facing per phase, if he has sufficent skill levels will this go down? Example 30" Flight, normaly the turn mode is 6" (30/5=6), however if he has one skill level would he be able to do 6 facings? (6"-1"=5"; 30"/5"=6 facing changes)

Speed Clarification
I am away from my book right now, but I just want to clasify what has been being said: Buddy Boy has Speed 2, When he changes into the Big Blue Cheese his speed goes to 6 Phases: 6 12/2 4 6 8 10 12 Okay assuming he changes on Phase 6, when does he go? I have always played that you go on phase 10

Speed Change
My question is a little different. Example: Mighty Man has a Instant Change power that converts him from his 16 year old self to his full adult superpowered form. All of his powers and enhanced Characteristics are purchased OIHID. The problem is Mighty Man's normal ID as Timmy Turner has a SPEED of 3 and Mighty Man has Speed of 7. On Phase 12 (Start of Combat) Timmy calls out the name of the Babe (His favorite B-Ball Player) and transforms into his Superhero form. When does Mighty Man get to go again? Phase 2 as per his HERO Speed or Phase 4 as per his Timmy Turner Speed? Thanks Steve. Hawksmoor PS This Developer Board is the single g…

What does Varying Effect do for Change Environment?
Page 91 of the rule book has a modifer "Varying Effect" for the "Change Environment" power. The example has a character using this advantage (and XP) to slowly expand his change environment power from heat only, to heat or cold, to any temperature effect, and finally to any weather effect. Yet the FAQ says "Varying Effect does not allow you to “trade†one combat effect for another." So what does this advantage do, and how should it be used? The FAQ also mentions an optional adder "Varying Combat Effects" for 10 points. But what this adder is used for matches the sample in the book of "Varying Effect", but without the different levels for different ranges…

Optional Speed Change, did it change or didn't it?
In an email to me, you said that the optional speed change had not changed from 4ed, (where the BBB did not require that the phases be in the same segment, only that the character has had a phase for both speeds). While here you answered that the next action would not be until the segment where both speeds have a phase, resulting in a speed increase often resulting in the loss of actions, (and if you design an aid right, you can keep someone from getting more than a couple actions a turn even though you're bouncing them between SPD 4 and 5 or 5 and 6). Which is the case? Did it change or didn't it?

Usable As Attack & mass
I read the FAQ and FREd to say that the +1 Usable As Attack version of Usable On Others needs an additional +1/4 (or more) Advantage to affect inanimate targets of more than human mass (+1/4 for each doubling). Is this correct, or am I misinterpreting things? Also, if the FAQ below applies to powers as well as skills (say, granting Power Defense to an object), it should probably be duplicated under the section for Usable On Others.

TUV Clarification: usable volume
TUV page 8 gives the volume figure for a given vehicle and then states that you halve the exterior volume to get the available volume for cargo and passengers etc... does this internal volume figure already have LS, Power, etc figured in? or is that 50% before you add in the above and everything else?

Reduced Penetration
How would a 4 DC RKA be handled with reduced penetration? For example, the Browning 9mm does 1d6+1. If I gave it reduced penetration (for using hollow point ammo as an example) what would I do with the +1 to damage? Would I treat it like a half die as in the FAQ and just roll the remaining 1d6? Or would I split the 4 DC into two rolls of 1/2d6? Or would I split the 4 DC into two rolls of 1d6-1? Thank you for your time in answering this question!

PSL and OSL questions
How much should a penalty skill level that applies to -all- types of penalties cost? How much should a limitation on Overall Skill Level which "only offsets penalties" cost? I'm trying to create a character who gets penalties to skill rolls and combat removed 'for free' so as to promote more over-the-top actions. For example, he thinks nothing of swordfighting while swinging from a chandelier because he takes no penalties from swinging from a chandelier and may gain situational advantages from doing so. Because I never know what penalties he may have to remove, the PSLs and OSLs need to cover all types of penalties and the OSLs shouldn't raise the skill rolls ab…

Optional Speed Change
The wording & example on HSR 233 (specifically "...until the next Segment which is a Phase for both of the of the SPDs.") have left some of us wondering. Using the example (on Segment 2 a SPD 3 character is boosted to SPD 4), should this rule be interpreted as: A) Both the old SPD score and the new SPD score have to have a common phase. Therefore the boosted character cannot act until Segment 12 (the only phase SPDs 3 & 4 have in common). Both the old SPD score and the new SPD score have had the opportunity for a phase. Therefore the boosted character's next action is on Segment 4 (having already passed Seg 3 for SPD 4). Thanks, Deri…

Recoverable Charges
Why are recoverable charges not subject to the +1 cap for standard charges? I understand the need for this with Boostable charges (do to the inherent advantage of being able to increase power), but I'm stumped for how a recoverable charge has an advantage over 0 END. Thanks, Deric Page
