Mister E
Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat I did two days of clinicals in a Gastro-Intestinal Clinic once, down in San Diego, years ago. It was a unique experience, I must say. Apparently, during routine Endostopy, where the doctor tools around in K-O'd people's intestines looking for bad stuff, the end of the fiber-optic scope always gets wet with fluid, and he can clean it with a jet of air whenever he needs to. When the procedure is all over, and the patient has come to the recovery room, where it was my job to monitor vital signs, and whatnot... the patients all slowly wake up in mild pain from all the gas in their intestines. So there I was for two days, taking vital signs on a room full of groggy people... saying, "Go ahead and let it out, man. It's just air they use to clean the lens on the end of the endo-scope." Totally surreal.
