Blame Susano and Logan Darklighter. Its because of a link from Susano's site to Logan's site that got me reading the series. Definately an Anime Martial Arts Campaign. Out right superheroes (some even have costumes!) This comic sometimes seems like an RPG campaign to me, there are always new character popping up, each with a large backstory and it goes in various directions at once. I know Logan wrote up Gina, Brianna, and Britanny Diggers, any one tried any of the others? If not I'll give it a try and post them, but be warned, I will overpower them...

I made this post elsewhere (http://www.herogames.com/forums/sho...=&threadid=2700) but will make it here. I am moving forward with the project as part of a website of non-d20 gaming resources. I've been reading all the posts/threads about folks working to convert their favorite book/TV show/game setting to FREd and realized that what we all really could use is one place for everyone to put their work. What I am proposing is to host such a site. The ground rules would be: 1) I will not make any decisions on the specific conversions unless I am involved in that particular project. 2) The site will acknowledge all copyrights. 3) The site will acknowl…

Since I started running a Pulp Hero game, I realized how many resources are available for 5th Edition modern that don't really apply to the Pulp setting. I've done most of the work I needed to do for my campaign already (just need to get Weapons and Vehicles out of the way) but I thought it would be a good idea to ask other people what resources they found to work for Pulp Hero. For the purposes of this topic, I'll define the Pulp setting as: the setting of the Pulp magazines of the 20s, 30s and 40s. A time when heroes took care of problems the two-fisted way, science was promising everybody flying cars in twenty years, and a dollar would buy you five gallons of gas,…

One could actually do just about every kind of mecha campaign you can think of and call it Gundam -- there's been that much variation in the numerous incarnations of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. HERO seems to me the perfect system to do a Gundam game with, especially for things like Gundam Wing where some mecha are significantly more powerful than others and where the characters have significant Disadvantage points. How do the various mechaheads on the board handle building things like Gundams and similar mecha, Newtypes and the various other characters that pilot mecha and otherwise interact with them?

Now that I have plenty of time one my hand (since losing my job), I was thinking of compiling all my WW2 Hero notes into a web page or Digital Hero article. However, looking around I'm not sure if anyone would be interested. Note that this is no-superhero, band of brothers, type stuff not golden-age stuff. Anyone else run a military campaign (however short), even if its not WW2? Aaron

I seem to remember having seen an article somewhere on the Web about converting Robot Warriors to 5th Edition format, but I can't seem to find the right website. Has anyone else seen this article and can tell me where to find it? Space Cadet

OK, folks, it’s time to get serious about the Origins Award write-in campaign that I’ve hinted at previously. To briefly recap, Hero Games products, including 5E, were completely shut out of the nominations for the 2002 Origins Awards, despite the high quality and importance of our 2002 releases. We want to correct this grievous oversight by mounting a write-in campaign. To succeed, we need YOUR help — and the help of anyone else you can recruit to vote on our behalf. If you’d like to know more, or would like to get directions on how to vote and other things you can do to help, please visit: http://herogame.dans.cust.servlets.net/news/newsWriteInCam…

Well, "with a bullet" doesn't fit ... The Ultimate Vehicle made number 6 on the Warehouse 23 top ten sellers for March (non-SJ Games).

On one of the other boards I frequent the subject of Escaflowne has come up. I was wondering if anyone had thought of using that series (which I have always found extremely depressing for some unknown reason) as the basis for a HERO campaign.

I am interested in pulp-era armor -- not unusual or outlandish armors, but kinds that would be relatively widely available. I had thought that very little armor was worn from early in WW1 (or earlier) until the invention of kevlar. But there are bulletproof vests in GURPS Cliffhangers ("PD 3, DR 4") and GURPS High-Tech ("PD 4, DR 6" for TL 6, which represents 1900-1950). Cliffhangers also has a concealable metal chestplate ("PD 4, DR 10"). And of course there are also various helmets and articles of heavy leather clothing. Call of Cthulhu's 1920's Investigator's Companion has no armor, though that could be as much due to the style of the game as to the history of the…

I was reading The Ultimate Vehicle for the seventh time, really getting into "design mode," when I hit the Web. While surfing, I came across a really good site, the US Air Force Museum. There's plenty of great descriptions of a variety of planes, and my mind immediately started to convert reality to fantasy. I wonder, what sort of aircraft have people made use of in game? Since my current campaign has a PC military test pilot, I plan on including a lot of air battles and stunts for him to do. I decided to stat out a few of these great planes; since I like to know what other good ideas people have had, I thought I'd post them online. Not wanting to step on DOJ's toes,…

Hello, this is my first post here. I have decided to run a heroes game, but instead of a champions or other sourcebook genre I have decided to have it be a 40K genre game. Now its going to be a test game instead of a normal campaign (since I'm still learning the rules). So I have a question what do you think well be a good base points for the PC?? The Player charaters well be Imperial Storm Troopers and I plan on having a Inquisitor in group.

Has anyone been watching Veritas: The Quest? It's a guilty pleasure of mine. It could make a pretty good basis for a campaign, or at least a good drop-in organization.

Jeez, what a load of cr@p! Where's the pogo-stick and the broom-stick. And as for the the flying carpet... oh, wait a mo', that's there! I have almost read this book cover to cover, it'll be the first time I've done so with a Hero book, normally I read what interests me at that moment, then flick through it over a lenghth of time. But no, not this baby, it's kinda a fun book, I really like it. Previously I was using GURPS Vehicles for inspiration (it goes into way too much detail occasionally), and the two books should compliment each other wonderfully. Thanks DoJ!

I posted a similar question on the old boards a while back, and was pointed toward some cool websites, but did not quite find what I was looking for. So I'm trying again, hopefully phrasing my question more effectively. I am planning on running a pulpish game set in Europe in the 1930's. I want to learn about the technology of the era. My main concern is not the cutting edge stuff, but more everyday technology. Is there a commercial airline that can take one from London to Prague? How many people have cars? Are public or commercial buslines common? How big are flashlights and how long do their batteries last? (Stuff like that that few people other than gamers…

In Steve's "What do you want to see?" thread in the Fantasy HERO forum, a poster suggested building countries using HERO stats just like we build everything else in HERO. I thought this was an interesting idea, and I'll probably use it in the future. Looking at current events, this begs the question of what stats to give the major players in the present world scene. Any suggestions? (And don't everybody do France. )

Back at last... Anyways, I've been thinking about running some sort of X-Filesish type game for some players (probably 4-5), and I was wondering what your experiences have been trying that with FREd? Were there any resources that you found were invaluable when coming up with ideas? Where did you place it geographically? What kind of resources did you give the PCs? I've been rooting through some GURPS books (Conspiracy X, Black Ops, and Illuminati), as well as Bureau 13 (an old Tri Tac game). There seems to be lots of good source material in those, as well as some decent stuff in the old Champions supplements (Super Agents, mostly, but I've been looking throu…

Ok. We've learned what you've done with Hero (though that thread isn't closed by any stretch). What would you like to run with Hero? Or not Hero? One thing I've been mulling over is something I'm calling Tank Wars. There's a new online video game called Tank Wars (possibly on your GameBox III, possibly in the arcades), networked all over the country. You and all your friends are really into it. You get credits (100 credits = 1 point) with which to build your tanks, then you run them against each other in the arena. You can play in a free for all or have teams. The idea is that each player builds his character as a middle- or high-school student with a Multi…

Ok I'm thinking about using the dune setting for a HERO game. Does anybody have some good links I can use to get info about the setting. I'd like to set it in the time after the movie. Has anybody here run a Dune game using hero?
