Fan art of the main characters of Thundarr the Barbarian, an animated series set in a post-apocalyptic Earth with "savagery, super science, and sorcery". The shattered moon and wrecked cities were the result of a rogue planet hurtling between the earth and the moon 2000 years before (in 1994). It was first broadcast on ABC TV (US) on Saturday mornings in 1980, predating He-Man by about a year. The series was released a few years back on Blu-Ray by the Warner Archive Collection, and it's definitely worth a watch.

I think of it as a unique blend of elements of Conan the Barbarian, Star Wars, and Planet of the Apes (original series, not the recent reboot), with a dollop of the old Gamma World RPG.
