I'm jokingly calling him Gravitas for the moment.

Other possibilities include: White Star, G-Force, and...well that's it The name doesn't HAVE to be patriotic but It would be nice.

I was thinking of honoring NASA, naming him after one of their programs/vehicles.

He's one part adventuring scholar and one part cosmic powerhouse.

It doesn't have any tie-in with your patriotic theme, but Curvature might work for a gravity manipulator who also has a sardonic sense of humor (especially if you go the sexist route and make that character female and, ah, well, you figure it out). For similar reasons, Geodesic is another possible name.

US Patriot, apparently.

Gravitas is actually good.

Captain Gravity.

African-American Hole. (sorry)

DC has various heroic gravity controllers with Star in their names: Starman, Star Boy, Star-Spangled Kid, Stargirl. Stars and Stripes themes are natural for superpatriots.

The connection between stars and gravity isn't entirely obvious, though.

I think he should be called Saturn.  It suggests power and adventure, being the name of the Roman god of agriculture and the second largest planet in our solar system.  It's even somewhat patriotic, as it's also the name of the family of rockets that carried Americans to the moon.

Hope that helps.

There’s a force,
There’s a force,
That’s all around
Pulling things down
To the ground.

And what goes up
Must come down
And we call it gravity.

Isaac Newton made a discovery
When he saw an apple fall from a tree.
So he told the world of the force we can’t see
And we call it gravity.

Gravity, it’s all around the universe.
Gravity, we just can’t see.
Gravity, it’s holding you and me.
Gravity, gravity, gravity.

Gravity’s a force that’s out in space
Holding all the planets in their place.
Gravity here, all around everywhere,
And we call it gravity.
And we call it gravity.

I think everybody's missing the big issue: just what is patriotic gravity and how does one manipulate it?

Many of these suggestions attempt to link imagery or concepts associated with America to phenomena related to gravity. "How" would you manipulate patriotic gravity? In the case of the USA, democratically of course. But that's hard to translate if it's only for one character.
