Cancer 5,817 Report post Posted March 2, 2018 The age of climate migration I was born in San Jose, California, and that's where both my parents were born and raised. I remember (in the 1960s and early 1970s) my grandfather still cussing the Okies and the Arkies, the people who came to California fleeing the Dust Bowl and the hard times spawned in the Depression. I wonder how many people where I am now (Seattle) will come to cuss the Florries and Louies and the MIssies and so on. I doubt I'll live long enough for me personally to come to that, but it is not out of the question.
Badger 1,404 Report post Posted March 3, 2018 Coincidentally, I curse California for giving us modern Hollywood. Anyway, this want be in any actual news, but on my way to work today (amidst gust of wind that weather forecast predicted could reach 50 MPH here in VA) I cam across one of the volunteer fire dept vehicles and smoke coming across the road. Near as I could tell someone thought this a good day to burn their trash.
