winterhawk
I try to avoid using published character's names on my originals. I recently started reading Marvel's Ultimates and realized that they created a character called the Blue Marvel which was also a name I used in my own campaign. The character is from the Silver Age, albeit 'tarnished Silver'. From my campaign timeline, circa 1956: The Blue Marvel sees his first action. Underworld rumor is that the Marvel is the Chicago Police's 'masked solution' for problems they cannot handle directly. The Blue Marvel was indeed a policeman, James 'Blackie' Fagan, who donned a costume to give an at the time corrupt police department an in into the subculture of masked heroes. He's pretty much a peak human shield slinger HTH specialist . Picture is attached, the emblem on the shield is the flag of the City of Chicago. I'm looking for a new Silver-Age sounding name for him. I'm leaning towards Captain something, but don't want to steal too much from Captain America. I thank the learned panel in advance for any and all suggestions. Tjack
The Blue Knight. It references both the shield and a connection to the police force.

Balabanto
Blue Shield. That way you can have Blue Cross sue him as a game effect. "Your honor, our company heals people! He injures them! This is an embarassment and drives stock prices down!"

BoloOfEarth
I was going to third the nomination of Blue Shield, but a quick Google search reveals there is *also* an existing Marvel character with that name. So I'll go with my second choice, which Lucius already posted: Chicago Blue. You could go with Captain Chicago. But if that's too close to Captain America, he could be Lieutenant Chicago, with Chicago Blue what people commonly call him (since the other is a bit of a mouthful). His official name might be Fagan's personal joke -- maybe he was passed over for his lieutenant's bars for not going in on the corruption around him. Christopher
The Motto of the Los Angeles Police Department is "To Protect and to Serve", since back in 1955. A lot of other Police forces took that motto too. "The Protector" would fit well with him having a Shield. Maybe "the Blue Shield"?

steriaca
How about... Blue Justice Or Azure Knight (Azure being another word 'Blue') If he becomes The Blue Knight...it won't change Raymond Renalds at all, since time diffrences. But if he isn't taking the name Azure Knight, I could use it for Raymond like Marvel did for the cowboy Ghost Rider when they published the motocycle Ghost Rider at the same time (cowboy GR became Phantom Rider).
