tkdguy
I saw the fireworks display at Fisherman's Wharf with family and friends. I forgot how cold it gets over there at night. But it was a spectacular display, and everyone enjoyed it, apart from a flock of terrified seagulls.

Cancer
There was lots worse stuff to come out of the mid-80s. Lots worse.

That all men are created equal. Everyone has a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Government of the people, by the people, and for the people. It's no secret the United States of America has often fallen short of those ideals, as have we all. But in just aspiring as a country to make them real, America has been an inspiration to people everywhere, and helped ignite a fundamental shift in how people see their responsibility to their fellow human beings. Whatever pettiness we may be dealing with today, that's a legacy worth celebrating. Hell yeah!
Doc Democracy
So, less than a week after the USA celebrates getting rid of an English monarch we get this...
Lord Liaden
All the pomp and circumstance, the prestige and decorum surrounding the British queen is similar to how the POTUS is treated by Americans. They hold him up rather like an elected monarch. In contrast, those of us for whom the Queen is the official head of state are far less deferential toward our Prime Ministers, even though practically speaking they're the heads of our countries. Cancer
Right, but Grant, Jackson, & Eisenhower all had battlefield experience, which many of the other 36 did not.
Old Man
I rather suspect the four-issue run is limited by economics and not by intentional omission of presidents.
Starlord
I don't think any of those Presidents got as much action as Kennedy anyway. Lord Liaden and BoloOfEarth

I think they wanted each "action president" to be from a different era. Grant, Jackson and Eisenhower are relatively close to others in that group. As for the picks themselves, three are commemorated on Mount Rushmore; and what president in the modern era has as much name recognition and legend surrounding him as Kennedy?
