Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

I thought this was "Quote of the week' date='" not "ask me about a porn-pic I got." But then again, she's got a nice face.[/quote']

Which is why I used it. It came up on 4chan and I said "say, that's a good character picture!"

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

Over on the Shadows Angelus page, I added a few new pieces of art to the "Pictures" section. I posted this one:

live_jama.jpg

Next email to the SA list was "Do you have the rest of that?"

Does anyone else see the problem with the pic and the writeup? She is missing the symbol on her head and the lines on her cheeks. I would offer to photoshop those in for you, but it is easier to do with the original :sneaky: and I'm not sure what the symbol or lines would look like in real life. Let me know and I can give it a shot... assuming I have the original to work with of course. You know, for better quality.

I'll get right on that.

Courtesy of our own Enforcer84:

"So guys, whadda say shall we abandon our attempts at restoring honor to our families' collective names and try to help other dimensional conquerers take over our home? Enslave our friends and families? Cause all the benevolant tyrants have arenas!"

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

Well that was a interesting thread derailment...Anyway these popped up in the game iam Gm'ing.

Player: "After spending time removing the dead turtle from behind her radiator..."

and

The players have just had thier base infiltrated by another supers group by the name of the 'new order of knights templar', two group members were kidnapped. In retaliation they assault the place thier 'teamates' (i use that term carefully as it is a villans game) are kept.

Player 1: "Wheres Psylocke, wasnt he with you?"

Player 2: ".....He died."

and

Player: "I dont care what he says. We do NOT mind rape each other"

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

A few from Monday's session:

In his civilian ID, Leo (aka Promethean) is investigating the disappearance of an old flame, who has apparantly gotten involved with the occult. He goes to talk to Tessalyn (aka Enigma)* the owner of an occult book shop. [This was the PCs' first meeting.]

Leo: "She's not really the kind of person who gets involved in this sort of thing."

Tessalyn: (frostily) "And what kind of person is that?"

Leo: (quickly) "Oh, I just mean she's a woman of science, and technical people don't normally get interested in mysticism, or vice-versa."

Tessalyn: (OOC) "Nice save."

Later, Promethean prepares to Energy Blast a local Judge who has been possessed by a demon:

"Your Honor, you may be seated!"

Not a quote, but I got a good chuckle when the Big Bad cast her 20d6 Dispel Magic on Promethian...only to find out his powers are tech-based, not magical. Oops. I had to give Promethean a surprise bonus on his counter-attack. :D

* Played by ghost-angel.

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

One I remembered from long ago. (thanks to the "Stupid People Tricks On my Birthday" Thread.)

In a Werewolf: the Apocalyse game:

My Nuwisha has gone back into the past to help save a VIG (Very Important Gural) My character is in a fortified town with the Gural (and an Older, more experienced Gural) when a group of Werewolves, and their human retainers, ride up to the town gates.

After an exchange of insults, the lead Werewolfgoes to move at me, but stops himself and looks at the older Gural. I notice this and say:

"What's wrong, afraid of a lesser species?"

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

Gentlemen (and I use the term lightly), kindly take your ridiculous ogling and smutty remarks to a thread better suited to it than this one.

This thread is "Quote of the Week from My Gaming Group," NOT "Drooling Desperate Males Unite In Pathetic Fantasy."

I apologize. OOC comments have been posted before, and the original exchange made me laugh. I realize the original picture is of a (mostly) nude woman, and yes, I did trim it down in such away to as to make it fairly obvious she wasn't wearing much. On the other hand, the character is a young, 20 COM, Indonesian sorceress, and the picture of a young, attractive, Indonesian model, so the picture seemed to fit the bill.

My second favorite exchange that night ("Your Honor, you may be seated" is the best quote of the night by a long shot)

Isabella Vandeleur: (on the phone with Tessalyn) "Oh, the shop girl."

(The GM, in a masterful stroke with a simple phrase made the character feel about two inches tall. She's making a special bullet for Ms. Vandeleur by the way)

BTW: I like how Tessalin looks spelled with a 'y.' Consider the change official.

:D I only use my powers for good. (Shrinking: Ranged, UAA, Incantations?) Fortunately, my NPCs are not so constrained.

Apparantly my typo-fu is strong, too. :ugly: I'll try to actually read my notes next time, but glad you like it.

[Edit: Just realized I mispelled "Promethean" too. Sigh.]

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

From Sunday's D&D game:

My character, a rabidly-orc-hating ranger, is trying to go off by himself in the city to do some stuff he doesn't want the rest of the party to know about. Unfortunately, we have a number of Big Baddies after us, so we're supposed to be travelling in pairs, not running off alone as I'm trying to do.

(Other player) "Go ahead, take off by yourself. Leila has the Reincarnate spell. (checks book) And there's only a 4% chance you'll come back as an orc."

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

Out of game, but really cracked me up. Ghost-angel & I were talking about Monday's game which had a somewhat more, shall we say, linear plot than I usually try for:

When I do have to railroad someone' date=' I at least try to make it a [u']scenic[/u] railroad.

If by scenic you mean: insulting and then drugging the characters, tying them up on an altar, stabbing them, batting them around like a ping pong ball, nearly killing them (by a kid even! moral dilemma AND embarrassment), and then giving them an arch enemy . . .

I agree, very scenic. Positively picturesque.

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

Our team leader, Marksman (son of the original and trying to live up to it), has just tried to capture the big bad solo during a negotiation. The team is having a little discussion afterwards.

Tornado is my char and the group's light brick/speedster. He's also a former army MP who was wounded in action in Iraq.

Marksman says "He wants us to play his game. We cannot win that way."

Marksman says "It does put the ball in his court. I hope I can use the parts I have been collecting to put some counter together"

You say "But sometimes the objective is not to lose. And risking my or any of our lives is fine, risking the lives of this city, state, or country? Well, I swore an oath once to stop that. I still live by that oath, but we could have put the whole fight in a controlled arena. That would have kept the civilians out of the line of fire and that was at least as important as anything else."

Marksman says "I took a risk that this thing was the real Stratagist in order to protect not only our lives, but the lives his captives."

Marksman says "Now, maybe that did not pan out. Maybe it was a mistake."

Marksman says "But don't lecture me about oath's or what it means to protect innocents. Remember, I choose this line of work. Fate did not drop powers into my lap."

You say "I'm not going to argue if the chance was bueno or malo. It's done. Now we have to take stock of what happened and plan. And DO NOT take that tone with me about chance, fate, or powers. I took an m-16 into Islamabad and Bagdad with no power and was wounded in the service of my country. I thank God every day that he saw fit to heal me and give me a chance to continue that commitment and choice. But don't claim to me that I'm here just because I have powers."

Both characters backed off after that, but it was a great moment for roleplaying. (Nice thing about playing on a private MUD is we get to record and keep the really good bits.)
