However, if I read this part correctly, if two parents whose hair is blonde or red, both have an allele (is that the right word?) for black hair, then it is possible for them to have a child with black hair. A blonde or rad-haired parent can;t have any black hair gens because blonde and ginger is recessive and can only be expressed if both genes are blonde or ginger respectively. Bit of a glorified garage sale but often there is just too much stuff to expect a single person or family to be able to clean up, inventory, assess, and sell/trash.
