dmjalund
I'm not a fan of Thor's short hair look, but it is growing on me.shouldn't it be growing on HIM?
Hugh Neilson
To clarify, Thanos was created by Jim Starlin, who IIRC acknowledged he was inspired by Darkside. Starlin's original conception of the Titans (i.e. the inhabitants of Saturn's moon Titan) was that they were an offshoot of the Olympian gods, A'lars/Mentor being a brother of Zeus. Jack Kirby's run on the Eternals title never directly connected his creations to the greater Marvel Universe. When the subsequent editorial decision was made to bring them into the mainstream universe (IIRC first in the pages of Thor's comic), the Titans were retconned as being kin to the Eternals, with A'lars made the brother of the Prime Eternal, Zuras. In a later issue of the Eternals, a Hulk android was featured, so there was an earlier connection to the MU. http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=469613
Lord Liaden
A reference to the MU, yes. But that "android" was originally a much cruder robot built by college students as a mascot for their football team, which came to "life" due to an accidental infusion of Eternals-derived cosmic energy. I always had the impression its builders were comics fans, and that the Hulk existed in that world only as a fictional character. No one else in the story suggested it might be the "real" Hulk. aylwin13
Thor without the long hair and with swords, instead of Mjolnir, looks awful. And the Valkyrie looks more like a female Swordsman, without the helmet/cowl.
DasBroot
I think it looks pretty good - but not really like Thor. More like Russell Crowe from Gladiator. "My name is Thor Odinson, commander of the Armies of Asgard, defender of Midgaard, faithful son of the true King, Odin Allfather. Brother to a faithless usurper, companion to an unstoppable brute. And I would have words with thee, in this Realm or the next." Lord Liaden
Lord Liaden
I learned to live with cinematic Thor without his winged helmet, so I can live with this, at least temporarily. But Thor better get Mjolnir back by Infinity War. Thor without his hammer just isn't Thor.
zslane
I imagine it will be like all the times Thor was relieved of Mjolnir for plot purposes in the comics; it will be a very temporary and short-lived situation. drunkonduty
Christopher R Taylor
Better be. Thor and the hammer are very much a single character. Its like Iron Man just being Tony Stark and moping all the way through the movie and... oh wait. massey

Pattern Ghost
After reading a few of the reviews, I've decided that I'm going to have to watch this one for myself. I suspect that they're largely right about the pacing, cinematography and fight choreography issues since those are all evident from the trailers, but it could still be watchable. If I can give Legends of Tomorrow another season, I'll get through Iron Fist to get to The Defenders. Grailknight
Christopher R Taylor
I'll wait and see on Iron Fist. The premise and the character's scruffy hipster appearance do not appeal to me at any level but I like Iron Fist in the comics and some of the martial arts from the trailers look good. slikmar
That first link makes me think that Hela does have the soul gem, the last of the infinity gems we have yet to see.
Christopher R Taylor
I wonder if the last soul gem is not part of Mjolnir
Lord Liaden
Hmm... I have trouble seeing the connection between Mjolnir's power and the Soul Gem. They'd have to come up with a really good explanation for that for me to buy it. Then again, I heard Mjolnir is broken during the events of this movie , so if that's true it's at least possible.
zslane
Well, obviously, the Soul Gem is how Mjolnir is capable of determining whether a potential wielder is "worthy". Hugh Neilson, Pariah, bigdamnhero and 4 others
