Hugh Neilson
1993...when was Marvel's near-bankruptcy? I suspect at the time getting the characters in the movies was considered a means of stimulating higher comic sales. You know, when comics were actually the main revenue generator? Bazza
Heroes Reborn mini series was done to hopefully make Marvel attractive to Hollywood. At the time it was a pipe dream.
zslane
Marvel doesn't need the X-Men anyway. Haven't you heard? Marvel has bet their future on Inhumans instead.
Pattern Ghost
IMO, inhumans are better than mutants in the context of the MCU anyway. I'm fine with the X-men being in their own contained universe, as a single origin of powers works better with their story. drunkonduty
X-men are coming back. Something like 10 titles due for release this year. But their own universe would just make more sense. Sense, alas, is unlikely to prevail. Scratch that, failed to prevail many, many years ago.

I agree, some of Marvel's stuff feels really self contained, especially X-Men. They're fine in their own little pocket universe (although little background stuff shows they are part of the larger universe).
Doc Shadow
Am I the only one taken aback at Hela's casual destruction of Mjolnir and half of Asgard? Hela in the comics has never displayed anywhere near that level of power. BoloOfEarth

Funny thing is how much most writers have treated the X-Men as being in their own universe, really. Enforcer84

Hela in the comics has never displayed anywhere near that level of power. I suppose you'll have to watch the movie and see how she got that kind of power. Judging by the look on Thor's face, that wasn't the expected result of throwing Mjolnir at her. Since it's the lead up to the Infinity War, I'm going to guess one (or more) of the Stones is involved. drunkonduty
