Long ago I ran a Champions adventure involving Foxbat attempting to kidnap Adam West and Burt Ward from a mall opening (at which he had arranged for them to appear).  Foxbat of course had various gadgets, including the Costumatron which "instant changed" West and Ward into their Batman costumes from the show.  Adam West's first comment was, "Yep, it still chafes like hell."

I could suggest suitable lures with which to entice book-banners into one's basement, but that would be more suitable for the Politics thread. So I won't. Also, I suspecft Simon might object to my giving tips on how to immure people one dislikes. (Beyond what Poe provided.)

I like that, but I have a difficult time imagining anything as harmless to people as a lepidopteran.  Even by the million, the worst they can do is unnerve you, and I say that from first-hand experience.  (They may gunk up your optics, but that's an annoyance, not a threat.)

People can have acute fears of all sorts of things that other people would consider completely harmless and non-threatening. There doesn't have to be a rational justification for it.
