Since I am not going to any cons this summer I have decided to turn one of my con games into a HeroCentral game. Players would make characters based on their forum name/persona. The game would take place in an early Edwardian timeline quite different from ours. The tone would be very light, with anachronistic puns welcome. Any interest out there? This would be my second HC game (after my neglect caused the demise of the spooky pirates game). I plan to water and feed this one much more regularly. Promise.

We're pleased as punch to announce that Hero Games just won the Origins Award for Astounding Hero Tales, our anthology of pulp stories. Drinks all 'round! Of course, the real winner of the award is ace editor Jim Lowder, who did all the work. Special thanx to Jim and all the great authors who contributed to the anthology!

Hydra Miniatures is making some really nice Pulp figures and since I'm on a mini-hunt, I figured I'd share the wealth. http://www.hydraminiatures.com/ it's all about the Retro Raygun line for your Pulp Sci-Fi needs. Plus, they have Buster Gordy, Savior of the Universe! (And King of the impossible???) http://shop.hydraminiatures.com/index.php?cPath=2

(Also posted to Champions cuz SuperApes are just totally genre) For real-real, not for play-play. You'd have to be some sort of soul-less automaton not to get jazzed over these suckers. http://www.miniaturemarket.com/karmans

I just started a thread in the Dark Champions forum, here. While this news is modern-day, I can see something like this being pulled off in a Pulp campaign, so I thought I'd let everyone know about it.

I'm looking for some professions that a horror character, specifically a monster protagonist, could have that would allow them to become involved in interesting plots without resorting the the private investigator / cop cliche. Ideas?

I'll be running a PH scenario this weekend set in the Mideast in 1907. I plan to throw some Bedouin tribesmen at them as a desert encounter. What do you guys figure typical desert marauders circa 1907 would look like? I'm thinking scimitars and maybe single-shot rifles...

The Ravaged Earth Society was planned as a pulp supplement for the Savage Worlds RPG, but unfortunately it was recently announced that the project had been shelved. However, all is not lost! A new site has been created with information from the proposed supplement, including a list of links and resources. Pulp HERO GMs may find other handy titbits on the rest of the site, too. Edit: The Pinnacle site was down for several days due to a substantial revamp, so unfortunately I couldn't check that this link should be shared... but since it's now on their front page I'll re-post it here: Ravaged Resources
