The attached file has a Word doc and a HD prefab for most of the equipment listed in Book 3 of Traveller. It does NOT include armor of any kind, only the other equipment (communicators, survival gear, tool kits, etc.).

Nothing to do with role playing, just want to get people's opinion. Imagine a STL multigeneration ship. One thousand humans will start out from Earth, their descendants will reach another star system in a century. Population will increase to 25,000 during the trip. Ship can support 50,000 safely and comfortably. It is possible arriving at the new star system they will discover a planet with a breathable atmosphere. It is possible they will discover no usable resources (in which case they will use a gravity slingshot around the star to head to a different system. It is most likely they will find an Oort Cloud, and asteroid belt, and planets that can be terrafo…

Psionics and The Psionic Institute Psionics — the powers of the mind. Psionics in Traveller® is are not completely understood, at least in the Imperium. The Imperium fears what it does not understand, and does not tolerate psionic usage. On the other hand, the Zhodani openly practice psionics and look down on those who don’t. The psionics in Traveller have evolved since the original Classic Traveller, and the information presented here is an amalgamation of those sources: Classic Traveller, T4, Traveller: The New Era, etc. With that in mind, we present two methods the GM may use for psionics in TravellerHERO: the Traveller Conversion Method (straight convers…

Cross-post from the FH forums. Here's a pretty cool post-apoc setting. It's unfinished, and doesn't look like it will ever be finished, but what's there is pretty interesting. http://users.erols.com/mwhite28/medvam/

Is there anyone out there running an Alien Wars campaign? Or, perhaps, a SH campaign set in the Alien Wars era? Or, how about a military SF campaign that doesn't use Alien Wars (but, perhaps, cribs some ideas from it)? I'm thinking about running one for my friends, so I'm looking for some advice--nothing specific, just pitfalls to look for, that sort of thing.

Right now I'm watching a couple of old classic Matsumoto series in fansub -- Space Battleship Yamato and Galaxy Express 999. Yamato was released in an edited foorm in America as Star Blazers. It details the lonely quest of Man's first FTL starship, sent on a desperate mission to the planet Iscandar to obtain an antidote to the radioactive poisons that will exterminate Mankind in a year. Galaxy Express 999 features interstellar travel by means of the "Galactic Railroad", but that's only the setup. the real story concerns the fact that Earth's upper classes have replaced their bodies with mechanical ones, and the only hope of the poor is to find a way to get to An…

G'day Imagine that there is going to be a lightspeed or slower wave of emigrations from Earth starting about AD 2100. The thing is that the JAFAL or NAFAL ("just-as-fast-as-light" or "nearly-as-fast-as-light") technology relies on an enormous high-tech very expensive but indefinitely re-useable 'encapsulator' that sits in Solar orbit sending out colony ship after colony ship. It won't cost any particular ship-load of colonists to pay their share of amortising the encapsulator, but it will be centuries at least before any colony is large, rich, and advanced enough to build an encapsulator of its own. Which means that no colonist who goes out is going to come back to E…

Sorry about the cross post for those that frequent the FH forums as well. I'm not sure if this is relevant to SH as I don't play the genre, but just in case... I recently posted a Character and Export Template for Hero Designer that uses the FH Mass Combat rules here: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=658738&postcount=21 It is easily editable if you need changes.

... my player Bridgette's caninoid was determined by the Bad Guy (A 30' sessile column of self-aware crystal) to be of weak mind. It focused its Mind Control and Telepathy powers on her, to get her to lead the crew down into his chamber where he could mentally dominate everybody at once. Seems he needed to hitch a ride off the desolate hellhole of a world he was stuck on... His mind control attempts were more than just my rolling, shouting numbers and telling PCs they wanted to go down into the planet, I brought up people from their pasts; friends, loved ones, business associates, old military buddies, and THEY talked to the characters as though they needed them t…

[note: only have 5RE corebook] I have a setting in which the Human race has a form of space travel known as "Sliding". Ships using this method brich normal space and travel to the Void, a dimension withour time. Afterward, the ship brich the Void and travel back to normal space. Because in the Void there isn't time, traveling through it is like teleporting from point A to point B in normal space. The difference is that the ship's crew is aware to the dimension the ship travels through. I want to represent that with HERO, but have a difficulty: Making it a Teleportation power with the "Passing through the Void" as the Special Effect, or Making it a Extra-Dime…

I'm pounding out a Star Wars game for HeroCentral. It's a work in progress (both campaign and web site) but there's enough material on the Force that I figure it's time to throw it out there and get some opinions. What do you think of this version of the Force? http://www.austenandrews.com/SithKnights/force.html

I'm want to design NPC(s) who are completely immune to Mental Powers on the grounds they have no mind (Robots), or completely different minds to normal Humans (AI Robots, or Aliens). Is there a way to do this simply, or must such a Character simply buy high EGO/Mental Defence/Mental Damage Reduction? I'm thinking this falls into the 'invent your own rules' category, and that 75 pts for 100% Damage Reduction (Resistant) vs Mental Powers would do it. Expensive, yes, but it is a very powerful effect, and will be limited to the classes of NPCs referred to above. Opinions, please!

I remember that there was going to be a supplement for Star Hero on the worlds of the Terran Empire. I know that things have been tight at Hero, but is that supplement or anything else for Star Hero still being considered or has it been cancelled?

Imagine that there is a large planet with a moon that are reasonably far from their sun. The moon is made of mostly elements like Oxygen and Nitrogen, but frozen solid. However, the moon is so close that the gravitational forces continuously knead the moon causing it to: a. liquify then boil the core of the Nitrogen/Oxygen moon, the resulting vulcanism expels massive amounts of super-hot nitrogen and oxygen b. said super-hot gases are then sucked down in a continuous stream to the larger planet below Obviously, the moon wouldn't last long. However, by human standards a million years (let's say the moon was recently acquired) is quite long. Could you, if…
