Joe Walsh
Children that don't age, huh? Hmm. Maybe they can bring back the dancing baby from Ally McBeal.

aylwin13
It looks like an action figure. Are we sure he's a real person?
Bazza
*chuckle* that is supposed to be Superman? I was going to continue to watch Supergirl but will reconsider with that photo of Clark.
zslane
That could be someone's Photoshop work. As of last week at Comic-Con, Tyler Hoechlin had yet to try on the costume. Since Superman will only be a support character on this show, I'm not terribly concerned with how he looks. Beside, he couldn't possibly be/look worse than Dean Cain was in Lois & Clark. Starlord
Well, the photo was released by CW and DC Entertainment, dunno about Photoshop.

Christopher R Taylor
John Byrne was the first to say this is how it worked in his excellent Man of Steel post-Crisis Superman reboot, although i'd have just said "Kryptonians have no beard" and left it at that. bigdamnhero
Yeah, the pic of Supes isn't a great look. But I try not to get too upset over early promotional stills ever since a buddy of mine went ABSOLUTELY APE-SHIT APOPLECTIC because in one of the initial promo shots for Jackson's Fellowship of the Ring it looked like Gandalf's hat was grey instead of blue. Incidentally, "Absolutely Ape-Shit Apoplectic" is now the name of my next band.
FrankL
John Byrne was the first to say this is how it worked in his excellent Man of Steel post-Crisis Superman reboot, although i'd have just said "Kryptonians have no beard" and left it at that. In a very old comic that my mother gave me when I was about 7 (it had been hers in the 60s), they made a statement that Superman's beard never grew. He had lost his powers and memory was trapped somewhere in Asia.
Christopher R Taylor
That seems like a much better answer, to me. After all he is alien, why would he be identical except for having superpowers?
Armitage
There was a Silver Age story in which exposure to Red Kryptonite caused Superman's hair, beard, and fingernails to grow to enormous length, and it was stated that Kryptonian hair and nails normally didn't grow while under a yellow sun. It required the combined x-ray vision/heat vision of Supergirl and Krypto to burn away the excess. Of course, since it was the Silver Age, Lois' first thought was 'If Clark refuses to show up while Superman has a beard, I'll know they're the same person." Pattern Ghost
The little yellow tabs around the edge of the S shield look weird. On another note, I just had a crazy thought: What if the thing in the capsule at the end of season one is . . . Barry Allen?
