Hey all. I'm building a villian for my campaign, and need some assistance. His name is Backlash (originally Spite, and then Guilt Trip). He has some skills and talents, but his only real power is his ability to deal damage back to anyone that attacks him. I have some ideas on how to do that, but none of them do exactly what I want. Here's what I have so far: 1) Vengeance Field: 10d6 Ego Attack, Dmge Shield, works with physical attacks, no end, persistent, inherent, always on, not for grabs, only if actual dmge was done, and only up to twice the amount done, ranged. Basically, if he gets hit by either a mental attack or a hth attack, the person gets whop…

I recognize some of them from reading Champions and USPD. The one I'm curious about is a woman dressed in dark blue and very bright white, with an M-like design on the front of her costume, with a gold area inside the design. She looks like she's about to unleash all the powers of heaven and earth on some unfortunate soul.

Crimson is intended for use as an NPC in a "teen champions" campaign I've been constructing. She needs a few more Disads, technically, but being an NPC doesn't absolutely have to have them. The powers in her VPP are listed in "chunks" that allow her to mix and match -- they don't represent any kind of limit. I would appreciate any feedback you would be so kind as to give me.CrimsonPlayer: NPC Val Char Cost 15 STR 5 20 DEX 30 20 CON 20 12 BODY 4 18 INT 8 18 EGO 16 18 PRE 8 14 COM 2 5 PD 2 5 ED 1 5 SPD 20 10 REC 6 40 END 0 30 STUN 0 6" RUN02" SWIM03" LEAP0Characteristics Cost: 122Cost Power END 112 Gene Pool: Variable Power …

A character i've thinking about is a very powerful telepath... her telepathy is so powerful that she cannot turn off, and... well, think about going into the underground and hear thought of all peoples around you... and only surface thought, confusedest and chaoticest thought of hudred, thousend of people, everybody which chaotically thinks of his business without a consistency... so, what kind of "problem" i can give her? and, her battle helmet is built for "isolating" her from other people, focusing her telepathy in another power (helm use Focus limitation to remove disadvantage and give some extra points to build another little power) so, ideas or he…

Recently In my Champions Game a team member (A Mentalist named Panther)was kidnapped by Eurostar she was easily overpowered by them and Team Vanguard had to find her. Using Mentalla to block her mental signature the team couldn't pinpoint her location exactly but they did narrow it down to about a 2 hundred mile area. After ,for lack of a better word ,assessing the situation they went in. They Narrowed the search down To a Winery In Liechenstein, before they went in It was described as a beautiful building nearly a castle from the Mid 1400s. They entered through the kitchen, where they found a cook and a chef, They asked to be taken to whomever was in charge...They were…

I seem to remember reading somewhere an idea for an archer character that involved buying the arrows (or arrow multipower) with no range, and then buying the range through the OAF: Bow. The net effect was that someone could use an arrow in HtH combat. Or something like that. Inspired by this, I’ve been fiddling with a slingshot wielding character, but I’ve got what I think is an interesting new take on the idea. Tell me what you think. Multipower: Slingshot Ammo *OIF (Ammo) *Range based on STR (-1/4) +30(?) STR *OAF (Slingshot) *Only to determine throwing power (-1) *Only to throw items of appropriate size and shape (-1/2) *Gestures (Both ha…

After discussing the impact of killing attacks w/my group (players forcing my hand thread), two of the three have made new characters (the fire PC w/the RKA is still in the group, but he will soon see what I meant about authorities not trusting folks throwing around ka's). So this is what happened sunday.. The PC's are at their base and detected a hold up alarm at a near by branch bank. Two of them head out there and the fire PC stays (he's also the computer guy for the group). It turns out to be a good hold up alarm. There is a one guy dressed in red & 2 goons. The guy in red is holding something in his hand. He tells the police its a deadman switch to 3 bombs i…

Ok, I'm not the best at superheroic combat tactics, so I'm looking to the hero community for help. What cool tricks can you come up with for the following powers: Mind Control and Mental Illusions. I'm specifically looking for tips on creating effects and/or commands that use the EGO +10 or EGO +20 base line...as that seems to be the hardest for me to come up with. Any ideas? Rob

Okay, one of my future players got his own copy of FREd and has been playing around with background info for his Disadvantages and such. Without giving out a ton of detail on the character he basically has a checkered past between his childhood and how he obtained his powers. To escape this he's had to start his life over multiple times as far as his Secret Identity (he has the Anonymity perk). He wants to have two different Hunteds that break down like this. Group A) Are hunting his powers so they have been able to make the connection between his Super Hero persona and the man they are looking for. They cannot link the Super Hero to the man they are looking for…

Try this for inspiration.... http://www.freep.com/news/metro/turkey7_20031107.htm It would apear Turkey Island in the Detroit River is for sale... No, really. While none of us (I imagine) are going to purchasing the real thing, it occured to me that maybe in our gameworlds, Millennium City might be putting this puppy up for grabs as well. Want a base that's close, but somewhat more secure than a down town location? Build it here. Sure, the other heroes might tease your team for having a 'turkey of an HQ', but with hard work, perseverance (And some high tech to drain the swampy parts if so inclined) you will soon have the public calling it "(Fill in your…

What sort of knowledge skills would you give a villainous mastermind? The character in question is entirely built on his Characteristics (most in the range between normal and truly superhuman), skills, talents, and equipment. He's directing a team of younger mutant supervillains, and is himself an expert on mutations and other sources superpowers. Currently, he has the following (along with all the technical Skills such as Electronics, Mechanics, and Systems Operation): KS: Law Enforcement Agencies KS: Secret Societies KS: Superhumans SS: Genetics SS: Superpower-ology (???? on a better name)

I was reviewing my list of PCs, NPCs and home made CU villains. I'd say at least HALF of them have the same colection of attacks - the "FYB" attacks: 4D6 Flash vs. Sight AOE Cone, 6D6 Entangle & 6D6 NND. Not only that, but those attacks are such a staple of all the Champs games I've played that all my PCs and all my villains have Flash Defense and some form of self contained breathing. Does anyone else find this to be the case?

When you create NPCs, villains in particular, what is your general rule for assigning Disads. Do you insist on giving them a full set of Disads as if they were a PC of about the same power level, or do you worry more about just getting close and making sure they have some personality and maybe a weakness for the heroes to discover?

I was wondering if anyone has created a really good speester character on the standard 350 pt character. I am having difficulty coming up with one who is really fast and can do some cool tricks. All powers are within 50 active. If you have a good character posted so I can get some ideas

High power campaign Suggestions
by Guest Thunder- 24 replies

I plan on starting a one shot mayber more game allowing my players to play high powered super hero's. My initial Idea was to allow the players creat characters that were somewhere between 750 to 1000 points and to allow the players create what ever they desire with no initial restrictions. The Idea is to give some of the newer players of champions an Idea of why there are certain restrictions on their powers. Does anybody have any suggestions or plot Ideas to kick this off to a good start. I'm hoping to be plesently surprised by the player's self restraint but I'll see.... As a side note if after the players turn in their characters anybody would like to assis…

Here's something I've been wondering for a while. When you think of the three Batmans, the TV Batman, the animated series Batman and the movie Batman, what comic ages would you say these three Batmans fit into?

Okay here's the deal. My PCs have pissed off a number of groups. The groups are: The New Purple Gang. In my game they are a little bit more then just street thugs with big guns; they have had some outside help, not to mention someone has been teaching them military-esque tactics and discipline. The Tongs. Millennium City's Chinese mafia. One PC in paticular has severely dishonored and humiliated them. Greymalkin Inc. A corporation headed by an underworld player who has his fingers in lots of illicit pies. His main arena is tech, biology, and other arenas. He also is Hunting the PC's founder (Another Corporate head who's encrouching on Greymalkin's territory…

Okay, this is what I am thinking for my next adventure, as a rough draft, I need help with the pacing and what have you Chapter 1 Heroes get involved: Okay not sure how to go abot this, but I figure it will involve either some headlines, or more likely a certain informant reveling a bamk heist Chapter 2: Viper is robbing a bank, but why? When the heroes invade the group is going to concentrate it fire on one player to capture him Chapter 3 Rescue the Hero: The Viper has the hero (Electric Powers) captured and in a bell shaped clear glass like base, a still form lies underneath a blanket, Mad Scientist/Viper Leader laughs histericaly as he pulls th…

hey all, I found some truly great stories written by one of our own, (but he won't promote himself, so I felt it my duty) it is some of the best stuff I have read and at the very least, it should give everyone a huge amount of plot ideas. I really suggest you check it out (especially since its free) to read them goto http://sginc.ubergirls.org/ (some times takes a little while to load) then click on fiction. the story is in a section caled "Mechjok's Myths" and the story is called "Last of the Fallen" by Mechjok. there are 24 parts to the story up at this point and they are big parts, plus the webmaster hasn't even uploaded all of them yet, as Mechjok has pounded…

Do you guys use Called Shots in your Super Heroic campaigns? I'm all for them in lower powered campaigns, and I'm totally in favor of martial artists using them. My only concern is these gits with 60 STR and +5 Combat Skills with Punch. It seems to me that will unballance things too much in favor of Bricks. Or the sap with max Stealth, an APEB and +5 Combat Skills with EB. This guy will not only get the Called Shot stun multiplier but the Suprise multiplier as well. Or is it either or? One or the other? What have you guys found?
