So I want to introduce a UN Security Council team which reports to the UN Secretary General. The team has members from each permanent member: China France Russai Federation United Kingdom United States of America They need not meet any motif, such as diplomatic or peacekeeper, or humanitarian. Any ideas for character names and powers from each member state?

Hey Guys, I am currently running a super hero game set in my own world. The characters are part of a United Nations super team. I am using bits and pieces from the Champions Universe. I liked the idea of UNTIL and formed a super team called Storm Watch (U.N. Force was the orignial name but it sounded lame). I have a version of Dr. Destroyer named Apocalypse (but not as campy). He destroyed San Diego, CA while trying to conquer California. He captured the military base on Coronado Island and was stopped by a collection of heroes. After that they US signed the Tribunal Treaty and Storm Watch operates in the U.S. The big problem I am running is the standard advent…

Hi all, In the Champions Universe, Dr. Destroyer destroyed Detroit. What if his base was under Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, by the southern end of the West End Bridge and he fired his orbital bombardment cannon from there, and, by the time the heroes stopped it, most, if not all, of Alleghny County was destroyed? Would it be rebuilt? If so, would the layout look much like it once was? Would the city's name be changed? Where would The Champions, the hero team that formed after the city's rebirth, be based? Assuming PRIMUS would put a base here, where would it go? For my fellow Pittsburghers, I add this question: What is lower, the subway tracks under down…

Anybody notice that the Viper Gecko vehicle (p 121) with the Aqua-Gecko option... does NOT have Life Support? So, the fleeing Cobra division agents who drive their small submersible car into the lake, hoping to escape pursuing superheroes... will need to be hauled out of their flooded and waterlogged car. Unless they thought to bring along SCUBA gear. I suspect this is what passes for an Adder division "joke"...

Whenever possible, I try and run my game within the current timeframe. Having said that, a Presidential election is coming up, and I need some candidates. Currently, the office is filled by one Enrique Espinosa. Placed on the VP ballot back in 1996 to appeal to Hispanic voters, he is the son of Brazilian immigrants who ran an electronics company in Seattle. Secretly, he is a retired superhero, his leg irreparably damaged in battle. He got the job back in 1999, when alien invaders captured the White House and demanded the serving President fire nuclear missiles at targets they designated around the world. Fearing for his life, the President was about to com…

Wpuld like some advice here on a character I'm working on. He's got the power to affect other people's bodies on a chemical level (i.e., he can make them hallucinate by creating a microdose of LSD in their brains, can do an END Drain by filling them with fatigue poisons, etc.). I have just two questions: First, what sort of powers do you think would be best for this character? His 'Biochemical Control' is done up as a Multipower, and his biggest limitation is he can't affect people with body-affecting powers (i.e., they can change their metabolism so quickly he can't 'latch on') and his powers are thus far limited to human metabolisms/bodies. He's got the two mention…

There is a commercial for Sprint PCS that has been playing for awhile. It shows a guy frustrated with his cell phone service chucking the phone into a little boy's toy building, breaking the toy. The boy gets this angry look on his face, stands up, and just stares at the guy. The only thing distinguishing about this kid is that he is wearing a horizontal striped shirt. With every camera angle change there are more kids with striped shirts, just...staring. First four, then ten, then a whole park full. Creepy. So, the challenge, turn this into a viable power to be used by the most evil of evil.

This is an abridged version of an adventure that I just ran for my group. Theme: The Idiot King is apalled by the "drug culture" of modern society, and decides to do something about it. Of course, he's targeting the major offender ... legal drugs. Clues: The Idiot King is leaving "alphabet crime" type clues (A, B, C). There are also some clues that generally point back to him. A. The Idiot King announces his presence by sending out packages to the group, the police, the media, etc. The package contains a bottle holding 2 tablets. The label says: "The Idiot King is on the loose. Take two and call me in the morning." One tablet is an aspirin. The o…

I built a villian NPC as the first super powered enemy to face off against my group, and was wondering if in your opinion this group of powers and tactics are too abusive... 1) Stand back in a crowd during a heist and target the heros with a 2d6 ranged BOECV EGO Drain. 2) When the NPC notices that her target is suffering from negative EGO, she'll hit them with a 1d6 Telepathy to give commands that the hero must roll vs the modified EGO to not follow. Any thoughts?

Here's a few heros I'm using in my current campaign. The PCs are all 300 point villains. I'm using these heros as the local super group and the PC's primary foil. One of the first things you'll notice is all these guys are LOW point cost. I'm ok with that, for a few reasons. First, I'm a notorious point shaver going back to 2nd Ed. I can get a lot of mileage out of 200 points. Second, they all have Stealth, Radio Comunications and the Teamwork skill. these three guys can pull off Combined Attacks like nobody's buisness. I just would like to post them here for some feedback.

I have a player with a character concept where when his power (molecular control) first manifested he accidentally killed somebody with it and therefore lives in fear of using on actual living beings to the point that he has a mental\subconscious block. Obviously, this is easily bought with power limitations, but my concern is should the player also be entitled to a Psychological Limitation? I'm thinking both, because eventually he could buy off the limitation on the power, but still be concerned about it mentally. Your opinions?

I have decided for my campeign that the good Doc. Destroyer will have a Lt that is similar to the good doctor. I will be using a classic character by the name of Profesor Morte (AKA Proffesor MORRRTY) as said Lt. The way I see the good Prof is that he alone should be able to take on a team of superheroes by himself. He will however have his own bodyguards. The first one I thought of was a THIRD Battle suit character named Major Mayhem, who the only thing I could think of was that he is a "Good Soldier" type, and would leath the Death Squat (The Professors body guards) So two things, what do you all think of the idea, and other characters to include i…

Greetings, along time ago on a message board that's been archived at the bottom of the page, I came in and asked some questions about getting started in Champs. Unfortunately, those plans never came to fruition so while I appreciate the help I received I never got to put it to good use. But fear not true believers, I have gotten a small group together and we're going to actually get into Champs. So here comes my dilemma. None of us have ever played in the Hero system and, currently, I'm the only one that owns any books. I'm sure the latter will be remedied soon, but I'm trying to figure out the best way to pass along info to my future group while also learnin…

The Guardian. Ten years ago, Aiden Pierce-Powers, then known as Kid Courageous, was young, powerful, and the leader of the media darling New Guard super team. The first appearance of the New Guard had caused quite a stir; they arrived one at a time during a huge battle between the mythical juggernaut Malevolence and several f the more experienced hero teams. The youngsters helped turn the tide and Malevolence was driven to another dimension. The New Guard (taking that name because they considered the venerable Vanguard team the "old" Guard) were popular, young, attractive, and considered the heir apparent to the Vanguard. The older team trained with the youngster…

I'm designing a Quicksilver (X-Men) knock-off called Blur. I'm having a hard time designing the power he has where he runs in a circle around a target and creates a whirlwind, trapping them in the air. I also want him to be able to slam a "trapped" person into a wall. My first attempt invloved 10" Flight, Usable As Attack, Continuous, with a limitation that the flight cannot exceed 10" vertically. Also another limitation that he must run in a circle around them for a full turn before it affects them (like a haymaker going off the very next pahse) and must continue to run in a circle around them to keep them there. He has 40" Flight Only In Contact W/ Surface. I ran i…

Well, two actually, and I'm wondering what the best way to do them is. I'm working on a new martial artist character and had the idea of giving him a billy club/battle staff weapon akin to what Mockingbird used to use. Namely, two billy clubs that can be joined together to form a longer staff. Also the individual clubs can be thrown. So, what I have now is a multipower with a hand-to-hand slot (seperate clubs-OAF), energy blast (serperate clubs-OAF & two recoverable charges). The issue is that other powers I'm thinking of (extra leap, stretching on the hth attack) require the clubs to be joined into the staff. This can't be done if he's thrown one of the clubs a…

I'm running Champions Battlegrounds and I need a death trap idea for a flame projector. He's a lot like Fuermacher from CKC. He has various flame blasts, flaming damage shield/force field, and flight. No life support except against heat. Any really cool ideas? Thanks, Rob
