Has anybody done a write up for Jack Chick? Preferably the "patron of special forces team" version. Thanks in advance.

It may lack aesthetics, but who cares? Trojan Armor I also posted this in NGD, but here I want to discuss practicality, effectiveness, changes that we gamers would make, etc.

Feel free to look it over and see if I've missed anything. The character is an amalgam of the movies and books, mostly using the books to fill in the blanks left by the movies. I'll post the full write up with background and other notes once this is debugged. Comments welcome. Murray: Is it true what they're sayin', he's some kinda vampire? Corven Ren's thread, "My Champions Universe Timeline", inspired my latest conception of Batman. This is set in the Champions Universe, not the DC Comics Universe. Batman is Thomas Wayne, the son of Bruce Wayne (the first Batman) and Selina Kyle Wayne (the first Catwoman), both now deceased. Like his father, he has a Batgirl. She's his wife, Barbara. Her parents are Police Commissioner Richard Grayson (the first Robin) and his wife, Barbara (the first Batgirl), who now heads the GCPD's Information Technology unit. As Batman, Thomas is easier to get along with then his father. He has no trouble working with the authorities, but prefers to keep up the "c…

I found Zarah in the GURPS book Rogues. According to it, she was a cat burglar who was recruited by "The Company" to steal and spy for her employer. I'm going to write her up using HD3. When it's complete, I'll post it here. If possible, I'll also post an image.

Hi, After gauging the interest level of my group of players, I'm considering running something in a Call-of-Cthulhu vein. My initial concept is that the player characters are residents, vollunteers, emergency workers, coast guard, and national guard in New Orleans, less than a month following Hurricane Katrina. I liked the idea of an area of disorder with "stuff" going on in the midst of it, plus it gives a wide range of character types. I anticipate fights with deep ones, cultists, run of the mill looters, and a daring underwater fight as the team dives to retrieve something form a building that is forty feet underwater. The things I'd like suggestio…

He is a hippie cleaner. Hippie Cleaner(HC):BLAM!!. Peace dude. Agent 1: You killed him. I thought you believed killing is wrong. HC: I did not kill him. A1: Dude, he's dead. HC: I merely helped him on his next step on his karmic path to Enlightenment. Hopefully in his next incarnation he will be a better person. A2: He is dead! You killed him. HC: The shell is no longer occupied. He has moved on to his next incarnation upon his path to enlightenment. Killing is wrong. I need a code name for Him.

I was going through some old stuff, and came across the log for my last campaign, which ran for six years and only ended when I moved out of state. Since my new campaign is having trouble getting off the ground (scheduling problems), I thought I would post some of the old campaign's log here for the entertainment and edification of whoever. The campaign came to be known as the J-Crew (initially in jest, but the name kinda stuck) because all three PCs happened to pick names starting with "J." It was essentially a weird conspiracy/monster hunter game, set 20 years in the future; some vigilante elements, some horror bits, and some cyberpunkish overtones; one player …

In the standard Hero Universe timeline, in the 1930's there was a magical ritual done that ushered in the Age of Superheroes, an age that lasted about a century. But what if the ritual failed to have that effect? Or just failed completely? How different would the timeline be if things went from the Pulp Hero era into modern times without true superhumans arising? If you drop the Superhero Age from the timeline, what would the Hero Universe be like? It is this sort of universe that I was thinking of putting my 13th District campaign. Weirdness and strange things can happen, but not up to the level of full superhuman stuff. However, that being said, in th…

As I don't currently own The Ultimate Vehicle or the Vehicle Sourcebook I'd appreciate any help/insights...... I'd like for one of the stock characters I'm building to have access to a slightly modified motorcycle as her "megascale movement device". Easy enough. But I'm not clear on the most accepted method for building in a NOX injector system into a vehicle. I'd wager that there is a description of a basic NOX system somewhere in DC, DC:TAS, TUV or the HSVS but, as mentioned above, I don't have access to those at the moment so..... My initial thought, since I want the gadget to have a slight level of "unreliability/variance", is as foll…

Anyone have any ideas how you would write up the new version of James Bond for Dark Champions? The most obvious result of the reboot of continuity that Casino Royale represents is that this Bond is less experienced than his predecessors and does not have nearly as potent a reputation. He also apparently has, at least at the start, a much poorer relationship with MI-6 in general and M in particular (the Brosnan Bond may have rubbed M the wrong way, but at least she respected his talent and experience -- the Daniel Craig Bond is new to the 00 ranks and viewed by M as a "blunt instrument" unsuitable for any assignment requiring subtlety, discretion or finesse). Apparently mu…

When I'm running a game like Dark Champions and the PCs are on their way to raid or protect some kind of regular residential house, I usually just think of the layout of someone's house that I know, and go with that. But now, thanks to a tip from the DLI podcast, I'm going to use the maps available for free at http://www.dreamhomesource.com. I tried it and it's really pretty cool. You can get a PDF of a house of nearly any size and shape, and very often there's a drawing of it, so you can print the drawing and hold it up during gameplay and say, "Okay, the house looks like this from the front." The floorplans are incredibly detailed, right down to fixtures and b…

Now that The Ultimate Speedster is out, how would you use it to construct "Bullet Time" or Matrix-like effects? The Speed Zone seems like a cool build idea, but would it work in a Dark Champions environment for doing Bullet Time?

This is an homage, more or less, to Roger Corman's Black Scorpion. Please note, this post is a long one. Twenty two-year old Keiko Nishigawa, the daughter of a wealthy Pittsburgh area man, a skilled gymnast and kunoichi and her mother, Fujiko, her teacher, sat in their Tokyo hotel room and waited for the phone call that would summon them to where their ninja clan would meet and await a decision from the kami as to who would be the new Black Scorpion. Whoever it was would become the latest in a line of female ninja that were given special powers to help them fight for justice. Finally, the call came. They straightened their kimonos and left their room. Two ho…

Krissie was a regular character on the first season of Acapulco H.E.A.T. and served as their computer, communications, and survielance expert. This version of Krissie is derived, somewhat, from the series. Like the Krissie in the series, she was orphaned at age 8 and spent the rest of her youth in various foster homes and is a former girl scout. This Krissie, however, is an African-American woman who wears her black hair in shoulder-length braids. This is set in my alternate version of the Marvel Universe. Since Dubya demanded that all non-housekeeping staffers be from the USAF, Krissie, being a computer expert, is in the air force. Furthur, since she was eith…
