How would you build the briefcase, pistol, and bullets that Mr Graves offers the various protagonists in the 100 Bullets comics for a Dark Champions campaign? I'm thinking a License to Kill perk bought through a 2 part focus (gun & bullets) that expires when the 100 charges are all used up is the simplest way to go. Thoughts?

Surpression Fire: The character can use his guns so rapidly and so well, he can make it difficult for his opponent to risk getting a bead on his firefight, forcing them evade and take cover and take snap shots instead of aiming accurately +x DCV levels vs Ranged Attacks FOCUS: Firearm (either OAF or OIF) takes x charges per phase to maintain (limitation level varies according to number of charges used) Thoughts?

RPG.Net (clicky) In a nutshell: Layout: 3 (decently organized) Content: 3 (one of the worst Hero books to date, but the NPCs save it from a 2 or lower) In A Nutshell: It did a poor job of explaining the Animated Series to a complete newbie, 20 pages of actual content, 96 pages of NPCs. This was closer to a Villains book than a Genre book unforetunately. A bibliography of source material could have gone a long way to save this book. Mostly it just didn't go into enough detail on how to get the feel of the genre IMO. It comes down to, well, I just didn't like the book.

Marine Corps Martial Arts Program I think the idea that you have to attain certain ranks within the Corps to attain certain ranks within the art interesting. Could this be another limitation to balance out an art? Has this been mentioned before?

I remember reading Batman stories when he wasn't as bossy as he is, now. That's why I recently either abandoned the main DCU for other, or decided that Batman was either dead or incapacitated, or Batgirl stood in Batman's place. Either way let's me bring in a small support staff, federal liaisons and representatives, and other such stuff. Some of these also let me redesign the Batmobile and/or the Batcave. The staff would depend upon what is needed, but would probably include a technician and either Alfred or, for Batgirl, a maid. Others could include a nurse, a computer expert, and a criminalist (like someone from CSI). If Bruce is incapacitated, the s…

http://thrillingwonder.blogspot.com/2006/12/mystery-photo-one-seriously-empowered.html After World War II, there was little money for defense spending while the nations of Europe rebuilt their industry and society. When there was some cash to spend, one had to be creative to stretch it as far as possible. The French probably accomplished the most astounding example of that with the ACMA Troupes Aeról Portées Mle. 56. Deployed with their airborne forces, this was essentially a militarized Vespa scooter outfitted with a 75mm recoilless rifle. Five parachutes would carry the two-man gun crew, weapon, ammunition, and two scooters safely to earth, and the men would load t…

I was going to write this up as a mega-post, but the idea was so obvious to me that I felt sure it's been done before. I'm certainly not going to use it in my current DC game, as it's just too offensive to a few of my best gaming pals. Okay... Look at the Catholic calendar. Full of the dates on which saints were martyred. Our killer finds a pure soul, waits until the Feast of a given martyr and kills them in the fashion that the saint in question died. Now... I'm sure it's been done, but I couldn't find a source. Clue me in. Is it an original idea, or unintentioned plaigarism?

In the TV-movie She Knows Too Much, we're introduced to the Special Operations Bureau, which is mandated to operate in undercover areas out of bounds to the CIA and FBI. In this film, the late Robert Unich plays Agent Harry Scofield, a clumsy, somewhat boring third-generation actuary who plays the picalo and finally gets the field assignment he's always wanted. Meridith Baxter plays Samantha Ann White, a high-class cat burglar parolled to him. I'm considering them as either federal liaison officers to a superhero or superhero team or as part of a team the Specoial Operations Bureau creates. Any advice would be appriciated.

Anyone remember the old FREELancers campaign that came out for Top Secret/SI back in 1988? I'm currently using it as the setting for my Dark Champions game. The setting is that the FREELancers are street-level metahumans for hire. The FREELancers have branch offices in Seattle, Miami and Hudson City (the original TSR campaign was set in Chicago; I moved it to Seattle since I had a lot of sourcebooks about that city from my old Shadowrun campaign, and more recently, I moved it to Hudson city after seeing all the detail in the Hudson City sourcebook). The team effectively are superhuman consultants that accept contracts for policework/SuperSWAT, private security &am…

My players have just tracked down a rogue government black op to their secret base, which is a freight container that can easily be stacked and moved with other containers on a cargo ship or a train. Last session was cliffhung with the players discovering that this mobile base is currently at the railyard near the docks in Hudson City, and that they have to move fast to get there to track down the shadow operatives before they disappear again. I expect mass violence to ensue. Does anyone have a good hex map of a rail yard that I can shamelessly rip off?

And a third entry into this little series. Rapid Roy is just on the end of Pulp and isn't exactly a DC character. However, his 'shine-running history helps make him a DC candidate, and I fully intend to take him, Jim, Leroy, and the rest, clean them up a bit and add in some flavor text describing the character, mentioning the original song, and giving some plot ideas for use in your game. How's that? Enjoy! I just received a book that would have made researching some aspects of Hudson City much easier: The Works: Anatomy Of A City, by Kate Ascher. Looks like it's full of juicy little details about urban infrastructure that would be great for city-based Dark Champions games.

Gotham City has Batman and his associates. Millennium City has The Champions. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has Nightman, Nightgirl, and their team mates (the PCs). The campaign uses the Dark Champions: TAS rules and is set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in a universe of my own creation. Nightman and Nightgirl are friends of Doctor Arcane and, probably, know of Solara. She might have heard of them. Their lair, the Nightcave, exists in a pocket universe that also acts as a training town and has a number of good spots to meditate. The Nightmobile, a tricked out Lamborghini Murcielago, has often been seen rolling into and out of Doctor Arcane's garage. Co…

I'm cross posting this to the Hero System Discussion Forum as well. In my Dark Champions campaign it is not uncommon for a character to do some undercover work. In cases like this the character needs to cover his tracks in a manner similar to what a False Identity would do. However, these are temporary situations in a couple of weeks the character will abandon the identity and never use it again. I am trying to figure out a way to model this. Perhaps some sort of custom Perk would work? Maybe this should be done by using a character's contacts? Anybody done anything similar to this or have any ideas?
