Brighton hollow is my four age campaign for Horror hero. This character exists within 1778 version of the campaign, now two years into the American Revolution where sides between folk are split between supporters of the Revolution and the Continental Army, versus the Tories who support British Rule and Law. I'm almost certain I've come across a conversion for Torg using the Hero System but I'm coming up with a big goose egg in my search -- both on these boards and the net in general. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks (or "Thnaks" as I more commonly spell it...)

Aside from Ken Hite (or someone of his calliber of weirdness) writing it, what would actually make this book useful to you? For that matter, what would you not like to see?

Hey guys I am in the midst of starting a world war 2 campaign. Does anyone have any of the old stats for Panzer Grenadier? He is going to be one of my main villains, but can't quite remember his origin or power levels. I know I have to convert, but would still like to use his origin. Thanks.

I had this thought, with almost every genre book release, a power book have been released. Fantasy Hero has two grimoire, and Champions have the Superpowers Database. From what I can see in release schedule, no such book is planned any time soon for Pulp Hero. Wouldn't it be nice if compile such a book in the forum? Hopefully some of our powers turn out good enough to either make its way into the upcoming Pulp Hero genre book, or better yet inspire the guys to produce a power book for Pulp Hero. Before anyone starts commenting on my idea I shall clarify what my vision of this little project looks like: Cross-Genre: To begin with, Pulp Fiction is more of an attitude (…

Here's a few excerpts from my Arcanum HERO that I'm working on...in between baby feedings and honeydo projects... "Within the realms of Arcania there are a number of creatures which share with humans not only the ability to think intelligently, but also a number of similar physical features which are obvious to all. As a modern naturalist of 1878, I am unable to accept the superstitious and often conflicting tales of the genesis of these beings. These tales are also not bound out by the data gathered by my fellows in the fields of archaeology, geology, and anthropology, to name a few. Why then, do all these thinking creatures possess the same human-like form...…

Got a heads-up on this from a historic costume list I'm on: The Harvard University Library Open Collections Program currently has digitized versions of several catalogs from the late 1800s-early 1900s on the web. It's at http://ocp.hul.harvard.edu/ww/trade.html . It looks like the main one that would be useful for a pulp game is a November 1926 catalog, but the gaslight to WWI crew will find lots of material here.

Ok, I wrote a crossover story a few years ago. The story was crap, but the idea still interests me as a possible campaign. Basically I was thinking of combining the Metroid/Mega Man X/Zero universes. The idea was that it is far in the future of even the Mega Man Zero games, where things are more like in Metroid--there is a large "Galactic Federation" or somesuch, with several alien species that either belong to or trade with the Federation. There are jumpstations where ships can recharge while waiting for a jump and characters can mingle with various aliens/robots/people, and similar things seen in the games such as colonized/uncharted planets and space pirates of var…

Just 'cause I'm bored I thought I'd post a group of character that I put together for a series of convention games. A note about demographics. I typically run convention for six players - but there are 9 characters here. This is because I plan (in vain most of the time) for the party to be one-half female so I create three female characters (and let me tell you, for this group, coming up with three female characters was an interesting bit of research). Convention reality being what it is though, I always create enough male character to fill the entire party with males if need be. p.s. Kudos to Killer Shrike for the way cool Hero Designer export template.

After seeing Constantine, (yes, it's mediocre, except for Keanu, who is just bad, and it has just enough of the comic in it to make you weep for the parts that aren't,) I'm in the mood for a good-ol angels/demons game. Anyone here every converted In Nomine or Demon the Fallen into the Hero System, or know where I can get a big list of demon/angel powers in Hero? I'm going for a kind of bleak look - going to throw in some bits from here and there. Maybe more than a little inspiration from Kult.

One of my favorite anime series from a couple of years ago was .hack//SIGN, which postualted that the hero was a child who had been trapped in a MMORPG gone horribly wrong. Not only could he not "log out", but his real body was in a coma in a hospital bed in japan, and his father was trying to get the plug pulled! I don;t know if it would be too mcuh metagame to have some other type of campaign turn out to be a MMORPS in whichone or more characters is a real person trapped inside. Although it would ex\plain such RPG conventions as "the world will never run out of rocs!" (the system generates some more), it would present quite a roleplaying challenge, especially if pl…

Would it make a good source book or can it be done without any source material? What should be in it? What shouldn't be in it? Actually, at the very least I'd like to see some ideas and possibly rules on ways to express fear, horror, terror and insanity in a Hero setting. Much like the discussion in the Lovecraftian books thread earlier on this board.

I was talking with a friend who insisted that Jedi were like Paladins in code and philosphical viewpoint. I disagree and posited the following back to him. All in D&D lingo since that's how he started the exmaple: Jedi are like Druids of civilization and society. They protect it from outside harm, but they don't go out of their way to champion causes not related to that mandate. Balance is important and an overriding concern. Thoughts?

I'm imagining a game where the "heroes" are pirates, who pillage steal and generally act very badly; and the enemies are some sort of superheroes who intend to bring the pirates to justice. I can clearly see some specific mental images, some perfect still shots from the movie of the game so to speak, but I haven't the foggiest idea how superheroes could fight pirates and make it a fair fight. Help?

Just some somewhat tongue in cheek ways to individulize your mindless zombie Hordes in Horror Hero "Dead Girl Smokin": This cadaver was exceptionally attractive in life, relatively fresh and with no obvious death marks. +8 Com and No "Rotting Corpse" DF "My, aren't we limber!" I'm interested in any Hero resources for small scale modern warfare. A friend of mine is interested in playing a Vietnam-style game similar to revised RECON, the old Palladium game. It wouldn't be too much trouble to come up with some package deals to simulate military training, but if someone knows of anyone that's already done this, I'd like to take a look. Googling didn't turn up too much.

What if? It’s a common question. One we all ask ourselves from time to time. What if we’d done something different? What if we’d taken a different path? What if something had worked out another way or someone had made a different choice? What if…it was possible to explore these alternate destines? What if you could travel between all the various worlds of possibility? Would take the chance? What would see? What would you do? Tangents is a PBEM RPG using the Hero System that offers you a chance to explore the infinite possible worlds and explore some of these questions. The PCs are adrift in the multiverse beset by strange forces with only themselves…

Has anyone ever made a package deal, or are there any threads or online discussion related to the special immunities and defenses bestowed upon virgins in the modern horror genre? I am specifically talking about the assorted virginal female main characters common in slasher movies, you know, the only girl who lives to the end of the movie, and the one who (often) ends up managing to kill the slasher (and survive encounter after encounter) even though she seems to be his main target (while physically stronger and more capable secondary characters drop like flies). A lot of movies seem to have these characters. Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, etc.

Hi there! I like very much the retro-futur style of the tv program like the Thunderbird or the Capitain Scarlet. I have beginning to adapt the Gernsbarck World from GURPS for the Hero System. I like the pulpish feel of it and I am beginning to write my version of it. One pinch of retro-futur (Thuderbird), one pinch of Alien invasion (Captain Scarlet, the world versus the flying saucer), A pinch of cold war but versus Fascist Italia and the Japanese Empire and a final pinch of mad scientist, secret organisation, oriental mastermind and superenatural creature. Here my first page. if you have suggestion or critic write it for futur discussion. …

The new anime series Rozen Maiden psoitis a goup od magically-animated (presumably) dolls with strange powers. One of them, Shinku, has intersposed herself in the life of an obnixous young hermit named Jun, declared him her "servant", and proceeded against his will to make his life very interesting indeed. Being a doll poses problems for a character. Shinku is only a foot tall, and most of the people she talks to are intially surprised when she speaks. Although she has soft skin, she looks like she's made or porcelain. She dresses extremely elbaorately, usually in the same outfit. It is uncertain whether she is capable of doing things like changing her own clothes. A…

The first roleplaying game I ever bought was Chaosiums' Call Of Cuthulu and for some time now I have been interested in running a Hero System version of it. What I'm having trouble with, is replicating a workable Sanity Loss system. I'm sure I've seen it before on the boards but can't find it anymore. Can anyone point me in the right direction of the thread? If not maybe someone would care to take a stab at it themselves. Ta much
