Christopher R Taylor
From what I've seen, Orm look a lot more like Aquaman than Jason Mamoa. Its too bad they didn't trust the character enough to go with the comic book version. Hugh Neilson

Well, I thought it was funny. Saw AQ2 this afternoon. It started off pretty clumsily but got significantly better by about the halfway point. It had a bit too much action-for-its-own-sake, but the plentiful internal conflicts made up for that. Definitely worth the matinee price. Oh, and I really liked the vehicle designs in this one. I want one of those! Hermit

Give him Arthur's traditional styling instead of the deranged hobo look and he'd be okay. Edited January 4 by Rich McGee

I think how one takes that scene (and the joke in general) depends on...well, in case someone does not want the joke spoiled Spoiler the similarities between invertebrate seafood (shrimp, lobsters, crabs, etc.) and invertebrate land animals (like spiders and bugs). Grailknight
It was a repeat of the joke in the first movie where he fed Mera a rose.

csyphrett
most of the reboots when Dan Didio was in charge was done as a way to make things the way he wanted them. There were rumors that he was actively sabotaging Nightwing and Wally West because he didn't like them. When fans didn't like what he wanted, he would push harder for them. Right before he got fired, he was going to push another reboot and get rid of the original characters like Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne and replace them which is why we got Jon Kent as an aged up Superman from Superboy and Jace Fox as Batwing. Dan Didio and Geoff Johns (who broke the rules of time travel and Captain Marvel) basically rendered continuity moot for DC now. The editors and writers can mix and match backgrounds and so forth because no one knows what is going on. As an example, the third Blue Beetle which is a fairly new character has had three different background origin stories. Christopher R Taylor
Quote Clark's got a nice place with a good view. Wonder how much that goes for? All we can see is a corner though, it might be barely wide enough to fit a bed into and nothing else for all we know. Newspaper reporters don't get paid a ton, although I guess he's doing TV and internet these days.

CES Jubal Harshaw: You have to give an editor something to change, or he gets frustrated. After he pees in it himself, he likes the flavor much better, so he buys it. Now, I'll grant what you're describing is somewhat different, but mostly in degree. There's lots of places with views of downtown Vancouver kind of like this in North Vancouver, but because it's a whole mountain slope on the other side of the harbour, the prices aren't out of line with "normal" homes elsewhere in the city. unclevlad
Plus, assuming it's the Metropolis skyline we see? Metropolis is NYC. $500K gets you a closet. On the diamonds...actually, for Superman, he could make money...he'd be selling rough diamonds that would have to be called "lab grown" because they're not natural, mined diamonds...to cutters. Diamond prices are heavily dependent on color. Even the best-quality anthracite coal has substantial levels of non-carbon impurities that would tend to trash color. Bulk pressure is tricky to get perfectly balanced to get high-end clarity. He'd be producing rough diamond...he'd have to sell them to cutters. So he's getting a fraction of the retail value. There's also significant competition in this field; large quantities of lab-grown diamonds are produced these days. They are valuable, sure...but not necessarily as much as you'd think, and premium prices mean premium stones...which Supes' powers don't really support that well. Lord Liaden
Superman has X-ray and telescopic vision, can fly around the world in seconds, and hollow out mountains with his bare hands. If he wanted quality diamonds, gold, oil, any other mineral wealth, he'd have little trouble getting it.
