I had the idea for this power, so I wrote up a whole character just to showcase it. Wow, it's expensive; it has more active points than some nuclear missles. Alright. So, this fall I will be running (oh my how I've come to loathe that word, as some will know from my struggles with this first character build) a Paranormal/Secret Worlds type game (a la RDU Neil's Secret World campaign logs). I will have 3-4 players, and the game will be in the U.S. More specifically, I will likely base it in Hudson City, though I am open to it going international (though I doubt we will have time, considering we have only 9 months before we graduate in the spring and we will also be enjoying Ragnarok's Norse campaign). The game is going to focus on cinematic realism. I want the violence to be dangerous, but for the PCs to be something…

One of the coolest submarines is the SSRN Seaview from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. As I look through the various plans for it on the net, I've noticed that the torpedo tubes and airlock systems are, like on the show, in the missile room. It's reasonable on the show, because that way you can build fewer sets, but in real life, it should be different. I think that, assuming it has three decks, that the observation nose should be on the top deck, the forward torpedo room on the center deck, and the Flying Sub hanger should be on the botton deck. The diving bell and minisub hangers should also be on the bottom deck, along with the diver airlock and related system…

The Widows & Orphans (PDF Download) page in the store does not have a description of what is in the book (PDF). All it says is a Dark Chanmpions Sourcebook. What is Windows and Orphans? It sounds like a group of characters, is that what it is? How many pages? How many characters? Thanks for the help. Bob

(Cross-posted from the Fantasy Hero section.) I'm kind of wondering if anyone is familiar with this book. I have it requested at my local public library, but it seems to me like it'd be a fun resource for any Urban Fantasy Hero game where forensics can play a part, and I'd like to see if anyone has actually looked at it and would agree. (Also, I'm hopting that, in lieu of rep, people will go to this thread and vote for Mr. Gigglepuss!)

First let me stop the idea of Invisibility builds, the GM has already said no to any use of that power. Second this is a conversion from 4th to 5th edition, campaign resurrection. The concept is a vehicle skin that mimic the effects of a chameleon. I’ve been thinking of using images to do this, but I’m not sure of what modifiers would be used. At the moment we have the 4th edition vehicle with shape shift between colors (Gloss Black to Flat Camo), with Bulky Focus, and Zero END.

I've been toying around with the idea of a monster hunters game (think Supernatural with more katana). I was wondering if someone here as done such a game. If that's the case, I'd like you to share characters, monsters and general game guideline you used in those games. I'm thinking 100+100 character, with very limited power possible but not the norm. Give me your idea, 'cause I'm Mentok, the Mindtaker. General Markov

I was trying Google Earth as a GM tool and think it has promise. In my case the villain was going to attack a large church in Hudson City. So I used pictures of St John’s Cathedral in NY and printed out pictures for an overview, and to show ingress and egress routes. It worked very well and made my presentation more “Professional”, and cuts down on a lot of description and misunderstandings. (FYI Google Earth is free and takes about 90 sec to install) Would work best if the computer (w/internet access) is near the gaming area, or if you can print out pictures in color. Slight disadvantage is the default for Google is to shift gradually from overhead view to a st…

Alright, so I used to watch The Pretender on tv, and recently bought the third season, so the show is a bit on my mind, and after trying to make a pulp version for the Pulperize It thread, I've been thinking about him in game terms. Has anyone created a game version of him, or a similar type character to play out? I mean, it does seem like an interesting concept to play, and could be lots of fun. Any additional thoughts on the matter? Played the concept, have unique ideas on the concept, let's hear about it.

I'm giving a spy a summon base ability. In any given city of sufficient population there is a chance (meaning an activation roll) that his agency has a safehouse set up. I'm envisioning an apartment-sized space set up to look innoculus. It still has a few spy goodies, of course. I started up buying Disguise and Concealment (so the locals don't know it's a safehouse). Also Lockpicking and Security systems (assuming that Disguise and Concealment make the security systems not look to ridiculous for an apartment) Next I stocked it with a Bribery lab (representing a small cache of local currency, uncut diamonds and the like, in case he has lost all his other stuf…

In case you haven't seen it, this nice site allows you to select various size of nuke (from 15kt to full-on big asteroid equivalent) and target it on your town of choice.... http://www.carloslabs.com/node/16 But here's the nice bit... it's on google maps so you can zoom in and out to your heart's content! Could be quite handy for your Dark Champions game. Thanks to Hafwit from the rpgmp3 forums for this little gem!

I posted here, might have been more appropriate in the champs area, but I felt this was better. The idea is simple. As we all know everyonce in a while a Champions character will come and visit a Dark Champions game (look at Punisher War Journal right now). When it happens the champions character usualy gets less capable. So the game is simple, your GM runs two games, a Champions game and a Dark Champions game that share a same universe. The DC is what is currently called a Dark Champions: Hudson City Powers style campeign. You normaly work on the meeting day for the DC game but you have the week off, as such you are going to get to play. Because you norm…

Hello. I'm thinking about building a sniper character. I'm very new to Dark Champions, so I was just wondering what things a sniper would want. Ghillie suit. Any idea what the Stealth bonus to this would be? Is there a standard, or would it be a house rule? Probably some PSLs for Range Mods Snipers have special hand-to-hand training, if I recall correctly Buying more points for Perception rolls? Maybe an Analyze skill of some sort? What else am I missing? Thanks

You definitely don’t want to be on the business end of one of these! Here is an excerpt from their site -Introducing the TASER XREP – the eXtended Range Electronic Projectile. XREP is a self-contained, wireless projectile that fires from a standard 12-gauge shotgun. It delivers the same Neuro-Muscular Incapacitation (NMI) bio-effect as our handheld TASER X26, but can be delivered to a distance of up to 100 feet, combining blunt impact with field proven TASER NMI. The core technology that made the XREP possible is the XREP engine. A stunning engineering achievement, the XREP Engine provides the same bio-effect as our field proven X26, but from an electronics package th…

So I need some guidance here. I want to create a package for a modern day pirate, but I'm not sure what kinds of skills one would have, since I am not very nautical myself. I know that most are just thugs on boats, but let's assume that this is a more 'skilled' pirate than the average.

Here's an interesting story from the Beeb. A Colombian designer is marketing a range of lightweight bullet-proof clothing in India, under the slightly peculiar name Discreet Inners. As worn by Steven Seagal, apparently.

What do you think about the idea of making a fifth resource pool for fake ID's? Of course, characters would still have to have the skills (Forgery, Acting and Disguise) to make and use new identities, but buying a new ID every week (for spies, con-men and similar characters) would get expensive.

How would you build this neat little toy? My focus has been traditionally on fantasy, but with my recent work on converting CthulhuTech and the release of Urban Fantasy Hero, I've begun to take a more detailed interest in 'modern' weaponry write-ups. So, considering my lack of experience I thought I'd turn to Heroedom and get some build examples.
