This blew my mind when I heard it on the radio the other night. YES, it is a HUGE city, but still... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7926263.stm 6000 children reported missing in the last two years, acknowledged by the Police? And others say there are even more? Police statements claim many of the children "Eloped." What, the 2 year olds? This could feed plotlines on evil cults, child prostitution, organ leggers, or, well the range is mind boggling and vomit inducing. It reminded me, I heard some huge statistic on persons reported missing in the US in a given Year. Doing some looking around, I find "Missing Adults Statistics …

I am curious how many folks use the hero system and Dark champions in particular for modern non costume type gaming. I've played Hero system on and off since it first came out in the late 70's to early 80's, and I love the mechanics. I've done a lot of Champions, as well as some Dark Champions and Fantasy Hero. I haven't gamed in months, and my circle of gaming friends has largely had it with D&D and D20 modern. I'm considering running a modern/near future game, and I was wondering what experience other hero system fans (and DC fans in particular) had in running these kind of games? Thanks!

Okay, would this just be Flight with a Bulky OAF, or a vehicle? One-man, 165-pound helicopter Regardless, I think it would be a great doo-dad for a Dark Champions or super-agent campaign. And, of course, I want one.

http://www2.tbo.com/content/2008/dec/15/na-armed-burglars-demand-eggbeater-deputies-say/ It almost sounds like a writer's challenge - "Write a story leading up to this incident where it actually makes sense for two armed men to enter a stranger's house at three in the morning to demand an eggbeater!" Maybe the eggbeater constitutes evidence of another crime? Would there be incriminating DNA on it? Or a hidden microchip with valuable information? Or.... Lucius Alexander The palindromedary isn't an egg, but confesses that making sense of this story has it beat

Iraq Probe Eyes U.S. Military Officers Source: United Press International Publication date: 2009-02-14 A federal probe of reconstruction contracting in Iraq has expanded to include activities of senior U.S. military officers, The New York Times reports. Citing court documents and interviews with senior government officials, the newspaper said Saturday the investigation is looking into the activities of Col. Anthony B. Bell, a retired U.S. Army officer who oversaw reconstruction contracting in Iraq in 2003 and 2004. The investigation is also focusing on Air Force Lt. Col. Ronald W. Hirtle, who served as a senior contracting officer in Baghdad…

"The reason for it to have such a strange look is because it was used later by Russian army to test the influence of Russian alternative to napalm inside of the brick houses. Due to very high temperature of napalm the bricks started melting just like ice melts in the spring forming the icicles, but those icicles are of red brick." http://englishrussia.com/?p=2284

You have been called to work with a congressional committee to draft a Federal Law to make using superpowers illegal. How would you set up a law to do this? If you fail to help them, you risk a more extreme version of the law being enacted. Edit: You can make the determination under what circumstances this is so.

Just something that's making me go crazy...... I know I've read the rules for the effects of different drugs in Hero System, but now I can't find it. Please help me! I'll probably check every 5 minutes to see if someone has posted an answer. The price for the fastest (and right) answer will be a choice between a big, slurpy (virtual) kiss by none other than me, or the secret content of the Mystery Box!

Who would be in the 2008 lineup of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? It is my opinion that the League's members would have to be British and possess skills usable in an espionage setting mixed with Urban Fantasy. Also, restricting the characters to Brits restricts the choices since otherwise the options are infinite. My choices so far: James Bond Betsy Braddock Rupert Giles Duncan Macleod Tara Chace

I originally posted this on my RPG blog, but I also wanted to share this with the Hero community at large. The "Dark Champions" board seemed the best fit for this. If a moderator disagrees, please move this to the proper place. :-) How I Ran a "Heroes"-like Hero Campaign After watching the first two(-ish) seasons of NBC's "Heroes" with my wife, and chatting about characters and aspects of the show with her and my friends, I thought it might be interesting to run a "Heroes"-like RPG campaign. I say "Heroes"-like because I didn't plan (or want) to run the game in the "Heroes" universe. Rather, I was intrigued by what I saw as the premise for the show: no…

Would the BBC series Primeval make a good Dark Champions campaign? If so, the PCs would be the scientific team while the military team, including communications, medical, and rescue specialists, would be NPCs.
