Many years ago I ran an ESPianage game, the idea was that the PC's worked for the goverment as "spooks" a group of agents with low power Psychic abilities, well I think I am going to restart it. I however have lost my notes, and even if I did they were for 4th, so other than buy Ult. Mentalist or Dark Champions (I own both and plan on using them), any sugestions?

I just picked up a copy of both Hudson City and the HC PDF. All I can say is WOW, just WOW what an awesome setting this is. In the campaign I'm running right now the players have chosen to create a secret base HQ within the Hudson City area. They have chosen the area of Riverside Hills on the corner of Wilkes and Grant St. to set up a store front called, "It's all about the Pie". "It's all about the Pie" is a small walk in pie shop that specialized in Pie's from around the word. Almost any pie made around the world from strawberry pie to fish pie can be found here. What I want to know is if your players have set up any store front or HQ and what did they…

I am putting together a 5th Ed guns etc database in open office just for my own use, and ran accross 2 anomalies Dark Champions shows the Luger P-08 as having a 32 round clip, according to wiki thats only for the snail drum, its normally an 8 round clip. Pulp Hero has the correct figures for the luger same thing with the M1A1 thompson, it shows the 50 round drum instead of the 20 round box magazine, the military thompsons wont take the drums. per wiki among other sources. once I get this beast of a database finished... would there be any official interest in its use? so far I just have revolvers and pistols done, going to do seperate subtables for each gun …

New campaign at Hero Central: Dark City. No, not the movie. Dark City takes aspects of Champions, Dark Champions, Cyber Hero, and a touch of Star Hero, mixes them together, and kicks out something that's all its own. (Okay, so I'm touting myself, here.) The year is 2281. Corporations run the world, and yet national and cultural identity is as important as ever. The Solar System is being colonized and harvested, for mankind is hungrier than ever for resources. The Dark City runs from Boston to DC and beyond, and includes New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and all of Connecticut and Rhode Island. In the Dark City, there is no green zone larger than perh…

I had this idea of creating package deals out of various Action Actors. The idea is that you can take any character and add this particular Package Deal to simulate that character if they were played by that actor in a movie. Example: A GM decides that Arnold should play the Harbinger of Justice, so he add's Arnie's package deal to the HoJ:eek: and now it's Arnold as the HoJ. Later on after that campaign, another GM decides that he prefers if Bruce Lee plays the HoJ:eek:, and inserts that package deal instead. The idea of an Actor Package Deal is that it boils down an actor's roles to the perceivable patterns in all of their movies, and leaves out a…

How would you build a character (normal human) for a Special Forces group (or Navy Seals). What skills, martial arts, etc... I'm trying to build one, but I don't really have a military background to know what skills they are trained with and what not.

I've been tossing around the idea of running a DC campaign in my gaming group. A few months ago I posted a campaign history for group review. I don't think it went over well. After the Civil War the rules for how the federal government was run and presidential elections were rewritten. The end result was a smaller federal government that did less but what they did do they did well. Also with a less powerful federal government, there wasn't as much patriotism or national identity. (Historically a strong central government did more to unify a nation than a weak one.) People's loyalty was focused locally. For example when Katrina hit New Orleans people in Maine or Oregon wer…

The question and Steve Long's reply below make me want to open this up for discussion. What would you use as the DCV of a military E target? ____________________________________________________________ Yansuf DCV of stationary object This is referring to ranged attacks only. If an inanimate object is stationary, it would seem that its DCV should be based on its size. But if a hex (non-adjacent) has DCV of 3, it would seem a manikin should have a higher DCV. How should we compute the DCV of, say, a standard military E target? (For those not familiar with it, it represents (and is the size of) a kneeling man.) Thank you. Feb 14th, '08, 01:57 AM …

I am planning to run a Dark Champions game where the characters will be Police officers with limited metahuman powers. For various reasons I am going to run this set in an American city but as I am not an American there are a few questions I would appreciate the opionion of list members on. 1. What sort of Body armour would a detective wear on plain clothes duty? 2. Are there any restrictions on the sort of ammunition police officers are allowed to use ? Could they get into trouble for using none standard ammunition in shooting. …

Dark Champions Resource Pool Sheet and HERO Record

I'm sure people have made things like this in the past. I have, alas, gained and lost things like this over the years. Last year I almost lost both of these, and many more besides. I'm hoping people here can use them as well. The Dark Champions Resource Pool Sheet is only two pages but you could copy it out as many times as you like. The weapons and armor sections are pretty straightforward but a version two of this sheet I may deisgn may fold the "extras" section for weapons and eq into their relevent sections. The vehicles and bases have sections you can underline or circle to note that are just the regular vehicle or a safe house (using the safe house…

Slave logging camps in Burma

An adventure really. I came across an article in one of the magazines they send to our store about China importing lumber to process from surrounding areas. The article (linked too) talked about "abuse of forest communities" "human right abuses" which sounds an awful lot like conscript labor. That and how money from illegal timber was funneled into military dictatorships like Burma. It would provide an interesting change from bruning opium fields. If anyone runs any type of covert/overt action teams and needs a good local. Especially if it does intermingle with the opium trade. I think for those who saw Rambo 4 and liked it enough to craft a jungle adventur…

This is for my Bat Team campaign. She's the third cat burglar to be known as Catwoman. Unlike the others, she didn't give herself the name. Instead, the police and press gave it to her when a victim commented "she moved like a cat". She's a metahuman whose agility, sense of balance, sight, and hearing are greatly enhanced. Her garb is typical of cat burglars, a black turtleneck sweater, jeans, running shoes and socks, leather gloves, ski mask, and jacket. Her gear varies from job to job, but some of it is the same (a multipower and a variable power pool). Since she has a 20-point code vs killing, she uses only non-lethal weapons. Additionally…

OK, according to some write ups it is a Flash NND, but that does not seem to cover it all, so first let us define what tear gas is and does so we can better model it.
