And I wonder how to chart her out. I was just working on a character who has an EB with Limited Variable Advantage and No Concious Control (-1) so that she can activate the power but is never sure which of her effects will manifest. That got me to thinking about Wanda and I was wondering if anyone out there has a write up for her or how people have gone about defining her "Hex" power. Any info would be a great help. Thanks Vigil

Hi everyone! I'm an infrequent lurker looking for advice. Please forgive me if my idea has already been discussed and I missed it. Without being too lengthy, the idea is this: I want my character to have a crystalline outer coating the source of which is his blood. Due to the nature of the crystals, it should chip off as it gets damaged and provide less protection. However, at any time the character can expend blood (take BODY maybe?) to replenish his armor shell back up to its maximum value. I considered the ABLATIVE limitation, but that doesn't provide an obvious method to restore back to full value. Any creative suggestions (or even not so creat…

Hi all, I might be running a game for my brothers over the Krismas break and one of them hasnt roleplayed in a very long time so I'd like to help him get back into it by building him a character that he can really relate to. Now basically, in "real life" he works at an auto body shop and this boy is a total gearhead... cars, hotrods, motorcycles, RC/nitro vehicles, etc etc. What I"m thinking is to have his character be adept at such things also, only on a super scale. I'd like to give him a transforming suit of power armour... Something like a really hot car (ala knight rider minus the AI) that can transform into a mobile suit/power armour kind of deal. I'…

The players in my Champions game have devised "closed circuit radios" as such: 13 Closed Link Radio: Mind Link , Human and Machine Class classes of minds, Any Willing Target, No LOS Needed, Number of Minds (x8) (50 Active Points); Only With Others Who Have Mind Link (-1), OAF (-1), Does Not Provide Mental Awareness (-1/4), Sense Affected As Hearing (-1/4), Sense Affected As More Than One Sense [Radio] (-1/4) There has been some question as to the utility in spending 13 cps on such a device (all characters have them, plus some of their contacts, and their AI, as well as the autopilots on their vehicles). It has been mentioned that in p…

I played w/a group last night and we're all kinda new to Champions, every thing went pretty well except 2 points that I had trouble with. first, a female mutant wanted to control shadows (make them come alive, take different shapes & forms, have your own shadow attack you, that kinda thing) I was unsure how to do this, but I muddled through for the time being. second, a flyer wanted to do a move thru on some guys on the ground I told him he would take 1/2 damage he couldn't understand why he should take damage and I couldn't explain it to him, so he just did a move by. thanks in advance,

Who is your pick to play Batman in Darknight Returns? I'm trying to think who is the right age, is tall enough and has the presense to pull it off. I'm thinking Clint Eastwood could do it. I would LOVE to see Charlton Heston do it, but I don't think he could pull it off now with the Altzheimer's. Burt Reynolds is too "good old boy" to do it. But he'd jump at the chance. Michael Douglas WOULDN'T do it. and now for the really important question - who would you cast as the young girl Robin?

Does anybody remember the names of the members of Red Guard and Red Doom from "Classic Organizations". I don't have the book anymore, but I want to drop their names into my game(my heroes are in Russia), but I can't remember them all. Thanks, Rob

Superhero Showdown #3: Black Cat v. Catwoman

Black Cat, aka Felicia Hardy (who may be in Spider-Man 2), is in peak physical condition. She is an expert martial artisit. Also, she has "bad luck" powers, but she can not control them. I read that she is a mutant. She carries a cable and has used claws. Catwoman, aka Selina Kyle (a movie about Catwoman is coming soon) is also in peak, physical condition. She is also an expert martial artist. She carried a whip and she also uses claws. I think so. Unlike Felicia, she has no super powers. The winner? I think the Black Cat would win, due to her unpredictable, bad luck powers. I believe that Catwoman is the better martial artist, because she has exper…

Okay, I screwed up. I have CKC, however, I don't have it with me, and I have a game tonight! I know this is really not kosher, but I'm in a tight bind; can someone help me out? I need the stats for Foxbat, Chesire Cat, Black Diamond and Bluejay. I need them within fhour hours. Can someone help a panicing GM out?

Here It Is! Why would your superhero or arch-villain build a secret hideaway somewhere remote, when he could have it right in suburbia? About the only thing this place lacks is vehicle access, but that's easily rectified with a teleportation chamber, or something like that. Anyway, I present this as inspiration. Knock yourselves out.

I am running this adventure and am now getting into the the middle of the 2nd act. My players have loved it greatly so far and I again can only say that it is tremendously well written. So far the adventure has predicted everything my players have thought up and done, which by itself alone is an amazing feat. Hats off to the writer. Has anyone else ran their characters though this adventure and how did it go?

Does anyone know if there's a write-up of the Midnighter from the Authority (and Storm Watch) on these boards? I'd be interested to see how he was made. Otherwise, I suppose I'll just do one myself... Thanks

Since nobody else, too my knowledge, has asked this question I will. What would you like to see in Galactic Champions?

My friends have gotten to a point where role-playing to them is fun in small doses, but they don't seem to be able to handle any long story arcs. For instance, in D&D they can remember what they are trying to do for three weeks or so and then they start to get confused and annoyed. So what I have decided to do is start a Champions game based on the Exiles comic book. For anyone not familiar with the Exiles (or the much more evil incarnation Weapon X), are a rotating group of time displaced superpowered individual who are shifted to an alternate earth every few issues with some vague idea of what they are to do. Some examples of recent missions are: 1. Se…

Ok, so my very first game of champions is coming up, and I’ve got a character all built and ready to go. With the help of a friend, I was able to construct what I wanted to near perfection... BUT Lately, I've been looking over my character and saying, "their MUST be a better way to do this." So I bring the question to you, with hopes that your expert opinions will lead me to a well-built character. So here's the rundown of my character... Joe Nobody was a cancer patient on his last days of life. Some secret government operation (Project Orpheus) steps in and sign's Joe's life over to them, claiming to have a cure. They inject poor Joe with experimental ste…

Superhero Showdown #6: Deathstroke v. Wolverine

Deathstroke the Terminator aka Slade Wilson Powers: a serum he received in the army gave him enhanced physical and mental abiltites; he uses 90% of his brain capacity; he can regenerate after being hurt; he is immortal. He carries various weapons and he has an infrared eye (to replace his missing eye). Skills: he is an expert in the martial arts, weapons, and assassination. Also, he is a tough SOB. Wolverine aka Logan Powers: he is a mutant with regeneration powers. He can grow back lost limbs if need be. Read the recent Punisher comics for graphic depictions. His skeleton had been lined with admanatium (I know I didn't spell it right). He has un…

Just finished re-watching Unbreakable tonight and was wondering if anyone has any stories about games along this line. I'd like to hear any experiences and/or thoughts about a campaign based on the tone of the movie... !DrFURIOUS!

Ok, I was about to reply to the Batnman vs Moon Knight thread. But I was just too bored to actually write down how Bats could mop the floor with his puny Marvel lookalike. So I present you with this new superheroic smackdown: Sauron vs Ronald McDonalds! Much more of a close call. Note: In case you're wondering, I mean Sauron from the Lord of the Rings, not that Marvel winged freak. Note 2: Sauron got his ring. Ronald got small fries and a Coke.

One of the characters in the game I GM is off to jail (He kidnapped someone, he beat the murder charge) I have decided that do to the level of interest I have in the game to split it into two groups, the group Mystfire is being moved to is based on the old Suicide Squad comic... So I am looking for plot ideas, remembert this is black ops, and missions too dangerous to ask super heroes to perform... Characters are based on 350 points...

I was watching He-Man tonight and started to wonder how strong he would be in Champions. He did the craziest thing tonight, he threw a huge stone tower into the sun. I calculated it to be about 566 tons. Figured it was about 70 ft tall and had an 18ft diameter. Making it about 22,640 sq feet. After that I kind of just guessed a lot. I'm not really sure how much a sq foot of stone weighs but I went with fifty pounds, which seemed on the light side. That's how I came up with 566 tons. SO how strong do you have to be to put 566 tons out of orbit and into the sun. (I'm not even gonna try to calculate the range modifiers) If anyone else has a better estimate of the w…

Hopefully this message finds everyone well, and looking forward to the holidays. I just wanted to drop a quick note that things are progressing well on San Angelo. We just released San Angelo 1.5! It is the same as the first release, but it contains stats for M&M Superlink and Action! System instead of Hero System so stat wise you probably wouldn't be interested in it unless you play with one of those systems. More importantly for those of you who are not familiar with the setting or want a peek at it you can download a FREE 20 page, yes I said 20 page, PDF preview of the book. Get the PDF Buy it now for less than $10! Read what people are saying …

Have any of you GMs out there ever intentionally set up a player (or character), putting him in a situation where, if he reacts like you know he will, all $*@( will break loose? My example: I have a player whose only solution to any problem is to blast it. Admittedly, until recently, he's only had two powers, variations of EB, and when the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem starts to look like a nail, but this was the character he wanted. (For those of you with long memories, this was the same guy who insisted on blasting a 'getaway' car in a game, despite the fact that it was already disabled, because he wanted to see it explode ... and it probably …
