Looking for some input on this character. Let me know how you have handled, or would handle, this. 'Fauna' is a long-running character in my campaign. She was originally a PC, played by my ex-wife, but (for obvious reasons) for a few years has just been one of those 'scientific consultant' type of NPCs. Because of that, I never updated her for 5ed along with the rest of the characters. Her power is your standard 'Changeling of the Teen Titans' shtick...she can transform into any animal whose DNA she's injected into her bloodstream (pretty much all normal ones). It was originally (ten years or so ago) built as a complicated multipower, but the build was weak.…

Special Agent Susan Grey, a metahuman herself, is assigned to the West Coast Avengers as its FVI liaison, mainly because she's unpopular with the top brace and they want her out of their hair. To quote her last SAC, "You're a freak, Grey. I'm assigning you as our liaison with the West Coast Avengers. They're freaks like you." Susan can switch to and from cougar (or mountain lion) form when she wants to and her clothes shift with her. "I've found a sheet for her in human form. Now, what big car do I use for her mountain lion form, the cheetah or the leopard?

Alien symbiot is a normal person with a symbiot that increases his characteristics. However, as I know a smattering of biology, things are tied together... They symbiont is a 'suit' that covers the host. It is defined as an Obvious Inaccessible Focus. If the Alien Symbiot is rendered unconcious, the suit could be taken away. Like the pituitary gland, the symbiont has a master gland which releases hormones. These hormones result in a hyper mylenation of the nervous system of the host creature dramatically increasing his dexterity and thus his speed. As long as the pituitary gland functions (linked to hyperspeed reflexes) the body of the host also has his m…

Had one of those random ideas come to me tonight, wanted to see how it would work out as a character. Basic, rough concept is a girl / young woman who gets hit by a truck or something, and wakes up in an experimental combat android body. So far, she seems to be one of those concepts that eats up a lot of points without generating a great deal of combat power. There are some limitations on some of her powers that I'm still mulling over, in some cases to represent her lack of familarity with what she can actually do. I'm still really vague on the exact nature of Hererfinder (the name of the character who invented the body and downloaded her mind into it). Villain? Her…

Okay kids, it's getting a little slow here. Go and write up the comic book version of the Martian Manhunter (as opposed to the catoon version, which is while valid, another character entirely). Any number of points you need, and you can skip the background if you want to.

I have a weekly game that has run for almost two years. As you can imagine, my players have racked up a metric buttload of xp. Now I have two new players joining this week and I am wondering if it is fair to start them at 350 as the old timers did so many months ago, knowing they'll have problems keeping up? On the other hand, is it fair to my veterans to have some punk get 2 years of xp with out all the work and pizza slice bribes? I have well established villians who also have two years of xp and may shellack the newbies unless I pull punches. Also, both newbies are new to Hero and will have enough trouble figuring out what a DCV is.

Hi HeroDom. Even after a few search in my books i cannot find him : i'm pretty sure there's a spectreman-like character in the CU. He's shown in the VIPER sourcebook fighting a giant snake and i remember reading somewhere that he fought some giant monsters during the Qu'larr invasion. someone has an idea of who is this character ?

I was trying to think of some way to have powers that are based on vocalization (anything requiring Incantations, a sonic scream, etc.) simply not work when this silencing power is activated. Should I be looking at Darkness, Suppress, or Dispel? And would this also cover Flashes vs. Hearing?

Recently Batman (IIRC) wanted some help, so I decided to make up four generic heroes, each will fit a basic archtype, that the player can modify F/X and get a relativly balanced hero. So here is the first one, a gentleman by the name of Brick Brick Player: Val Char Cost 50 STR 40 20 DEX 30 30 CON 40 15 BODY 10 13 INT 3 11 EGO 2 20 PRE 10 12 COM 1 10/20 PD 0 10/20 ED 4 4 SPD 10 16 REC 0 60 END 0 55 STUN 0 6" RUN02" SWIM010" LEAP0Characteristics Cost: 150 Cost Power END 8 Team Radio: High Range Radio Perception (12 Active Points); OIF (-1/2) 37 Tough Skin: Armor (10 PD/10 ED), Hardened (+1/4) (37 Act…

I didnt give them an easy first big team fight. Sure, it was only the Ultimates, but a tweaked ultimates. Binder made combat durable, and with nastier entnagles. Blackstar made a tad speedier, and better defenses. Same for Radium. Ultimates had a plan, knowledge of the area. End result, 3 Ultis captures, 3 get away. The best part is, Thunderbolt, escaping with the goal, hasn't noticed that the superspeedsters final missed 'attack' was actually a sleight of hand to steal away the key data module, and basically will make a fool of him. Cool, new hunted for a character The PC's started working or trying to support each other--attempted FB's, coordinated attacks…

Voodoochili My sidekick just got picked up by the local capes, and soon he'll tell them all my big plans and secret hideouts, only I don't have any. Just a two-story condo and a half-baked idea using scratch off lottery tickets and scratch-and-sniff pheremones. What's worse, I'm sleeping on the couch tonight... See, whatserface, StarStrike or whatever, tried to break into my apartment, and the security system dropped her through the trap door to the cage. Which would normally be a good thing, but my girlfriend got home before I did... Anyway, my girlfriend finds a scantily-clad woman in caged up in the dungeon/basement, and of course she gets all jealo…

frustratedvibora So I was out last night with pretender and silentstrike382 on patrol, and who do I happen to run into but her. That's right. Little miss red-leather herself. *sigh* You know, I HAD worked up the courage to ask her out... really. And she was just doing lookout for some other group or something, so it wasn't like I was interrupting her in any sort of major crime or something that I had to foil... I could have just gone up to her... but I hesitated. All of a sudden, silentstrike382 just blurts out "Stop, Miscreant!" I just about do a slow-burn right there... She takes off, of course, and we never do figure out what she was the lookout …

Gadgeteers, Cyborgs, Power armor gurus or any mixture of the three are all welcome to apply. Character Creation: 300 Base 150 Disadvantages Active points 60 (may have one power at 75) Combat Value:14 with levels and manuvers. Spd:7 Defenses:25-30 Please try to stay away from the concept of "Brick/Techhead" as the team already has a brick. Information about the overall setting can be found at: http://web.qx.net/nexus/Champions/Setting Character submissions being excepted for a week. Hope I get a few, thanks.

Well, since one of my fellows did so, I thought I'd join the party. Notes: -Seeds has house rules that make it likely a super vs super combat will do BODY to this guy (yes, to this guy). -He's been toned down from a previous build to be less powerful. -I do have my concerns about the 'breakable' limitation on the senses and stuff. I think it's relatively fair given the first point. -Gadget is not really under my direct control, so I can't VPP cheese. (and removing the temptation = good. ) Background: A Geeky guy, or several, building a perfect woman (whether through robotics, computer science, cloning, or genetic engineering...), has become a cliche of mo…

I'm building a world where the golden age characters are examined in a more modern light. Hence the Gilded Age. When all is said and done I will present my players with the option of making any golden age character from any company (Timely, DC, Fawcett, Quality, Lev Gleason etc.) I have been thinking of ways to tie bits of disparate continuity together and coming up with..... well I suppose the term would be retcons, but that doesn't seem right. For example. Instead of blond haired Steve Trevor washing up on the shores of Paradise Island it's Steve Rogers. Diana returns to "man's world" with the injured hero after modelling her costume on the Captain Ame…

One night, while either patrolling or just out of civic duty, your character interupts what seems to be a perfectly normal turf war befween rival street gangs. He finds out the hard way these goons are anything but normal. All of them have been augmented with ultra high tech cybernetic implants and bionic limbs, making most of them a fair match for a 300 point Champions character. These cybernetic are about 30+ years ahead of campaign standards as far as design goes. Tech heads can tell they were designed to eventually malfuction, violently killing the subject. More insidiously they override certain areas of the brain stimulating aggression and paranoia in the subject. Th…

Tonight had a fun little twist to it. The players were raiding a VIPER base to rescue two companions. They had regrouped and were advancing down further to take out the remaining agents. MJ, the "scout", reported that behind a security door were three agents with a big, mounted weapon. Thought used the Sledgehammer weapon he had "acquired" and started putting a huge hole into the floor from above to distract them while the rest moved forward for a flanking attack. Voltage used a Frosty weapon and tried it out on the security door making it only thicker and more secure. The Greek decided the best way to proceed would be to take her summoned Chariot and make a mov…

Anyone ever try to make Uma Thurman's character from Kill Bill up in Hero? My take is the following: Martial arts(obviously) Levels up the wazoo(enough to nail hit locations on every sword swipe on average opponents) Great Acrobatics roll...along with Breakfall, Climbing, Weapon Familiarity, and Two Weapon Fighting. Defense Talent(Maximum level) Stats.....not sure....but I'd go with good DEX, SPD, and BODY. Rest is open to writer interpretation. Anyone care to add to this list? Rob

Need a name, feminine if it's gendered, meaning "Dagger of Light". She's named D. O. L. (say it "Doll") now, but that's kind of crummy.
