Need a name, feminine if it's gendered, meaning "Dagger of Light". She's named D. O. L. (say it "Doll") now, but that's kind of crummy.

Well, in my campaign anyways. I got to run Shades of Black the last few weekends, and my players enjoyed themselves besides the fact their characters (And a few NPCs) ended up in Dr. Silverback's rejuvination vats to speed healing on Body damage I enjoyed running it as well, and the only snags I recall came from RL interuptions (RL, like excrement, happens) It mostly wrapped itself up nicely. Warning: Some spoilers may slip out below, but for those that don't mind... Talisman is in custody Lady Crow and Gryphon are also, and getting help. Black Paladin has been thrown in the darkness dimension (minus his gear) by Nightbringer as punishment for h…

I posted some pictures of male superheroes in the General Role playing forum. They're located in the "looking for pics" thread. Just cross posting here in case any might want to grab 'em since I can't leave them up for too long.

I'm just wondering, what might be some some good ways for a character to make money? The particular person in question is a 16 year old gir; she's shy, quiet, timid, bookish, and uses drilling rigs for workout weights (STR 80). Basically, she's a very high-end flying brick who hates drawing attention to herself.

In some anime fight scenes, you can see the background scenery flying up in the air slowly in large chunks. The bigger the fight, the larger the chunks. Some sort of psychic resonance or something I imagine. The why is unimportant. How would you build it? My first thought was a CE with a large amount of TK... but that gets prohibitively expensive. My second thought was to make it a Side Effect based upon the active points of the powers being used- the greater the active points utilized, the more psychic enery, the greater the damage to the environment (how the environment is damaged- chunks flying up in the air- is irrelevant for this build). Since it rarel…

So, I've been reading some of my Lovecraft and Lovecraft inspired works, and now I have a character I want to make, but I'm at a loss as to how to do it. The idea is a worm creature with psionic powers. The creature likes to stay in a human host, which it uses for protection, and slowly consumes. Every few weeks, the host will die and become unsuitable. I;m not sure at all how to do this body swaping power. Esencially, the worm will keep the mental stats of itself, and use the physical stats of the host. I gues it would be some kind of mind control linked to a slow body drain, but I'm not sure at all. Any ideas?

I'm recreating a villain character from an old campaign... He either could not read, or couldn't read very well... I thought for a moment about giving him Eidetic Memory, to allow him to cover for not being able to read, but now I wonder... Can anyone suggest other ways the character might conceal this...? He's a recent graduate from High School who didn't pay attention in class... The character dates back to when social promotion was a problem in large schools, but I'm not sure that applies any longer...

I don't know about any of you, but I'm LOVING the new Legion of Super-Heroes. It's wicked cool! They had me at "Ultra-Love." For those of you not familiar, Waid's latest retcon of the LSH makes it a 31st century youth movement. Anyone who believes in the cause of fighting for change (and presumably is below a certain age level) can join. Currently (as of issue #2) they have something like 28,000 members, though only a handful comprise the core team which actually does any fighting. Since this is so wonderfully open-ended I thought it would make a great Champions campaign (don't worry Cometeer, you can keep running the FH game for a while). So I thought I'd star…

Well, I've been lurking for a while, but seeing that I'm slowly building up to start a new campaign soon, I thought I'd post a character for critique. How often have you had your characters go through a transformation? Not multiform, but rather, a characters powers are completely transformed, so that they are, combatwise, a completely new character. Same memories, but new powers. Something like Jean Grey to Dark Phoenix to Phoenix. Not Normal Beast into Blue Beast (that's really just aquiring a new Distinctive Features), but something more significant. Do you ever do it?

Okay, since I heard through the grape vine that the Great Lakes Avengers are getting a mini series of their own, what would you do to make these guys worthy of their own series? Would you change their abilities? Add/subtract Members? For those who can't remember or have never heard of them; the GLA consists of: Mr. Immortal - a martial artist who comes back from the dead. Dying is what he does best! When he reawakens, he's berserk and has to be calmed down by... Dina Soar - incapable of speech, this reptlilan woman has subsonic vocal powers that can calm the angered, she also can fly by way of her wings Flat Man - a Mr Fantastic clone for the …

Hello Everyone, I have been thinking about running some Scenarios for superhroes. The setting is an A.I. controlled North America sort of like the Nightmares of futures Past of the old Marvel setting. The A.I. Has taken over America and killed off a majority of the superhero population and then dismantled the goverment and set itself up as the Autocratic ruler. It did so in one swift act of controlled assassination. Its goal is to protect humanity by saving it from itself. Then taking over the military with well placed "chip-controlled" personal and computer viruses to take out hardware. It has hidden its central intellicence and now functions through robotic …

After watching Behind the Mat and re-reading the XWF supplement for Abberant, I started hammering out some ideas for a super wrestling/shootfighting PBEM game, but was wondering if there would be anyone interested in playing this sort of game? Most, if not all interactions would be "in character", such as matches and interviews, with the players able to go "outside the ring" to create and build up their own fueds with one another and NPC fighters in narrative Segments where they can form alliances, attack each other, etc. as they saw fit. Once again I ask, anyone interested besides me?

Okay, the rules of this thread are very simple. Take a superhero, and despite the thread title it doesn't have to be a male superhero (we're not requiring the posters to be gay either) and give them a makeover. Heroes with especially tacky or tasteless outfits are given preference. Let's go where we're needed the most, people. I'll start with Doctor Strange. The man's outfit was clearly designed by a man on drugs. The colors are just garish and frankly while it does give an otherworldly fear, it makes him look like he's from Dimension Las Vegas. Is this the sort of look we want for our world's Sorceror Supreme? I don't think so. Now while the trenchcoat and fedo…

In keeping with the sudden spate of "...Name Needed" threads, I need a name for a speedster. The character is secretly the son of the 3rd Edition villain The Dash (from The Great Supervillain Contest and his girlfriend Microwave. The boy was taken from his parents when they were in jail 20 years ago and given to adoptive parents. He has no idea he is adopted or that his biological parents are supervillains (still active, and looking for him). Lance Lamont Barclay (his real name), is an EMT in real life. He just moved to Millenium City 6 weeks ago, and met his new girlfriend (who is a PI) 3 weeks ago. He has movie-star good looks, and is quite the goody-two-…

I have a question for all interested. In Champions Universe, the SuperHuman Survey is mentioned and described, and CKC provides more information that is usable, such as the villains' survey rating. My question is, given the information in a standard write up, what information would be included in the survey/police printout? I.e. what would the characters be able to find out from it? As a first draft/idea here is what I have, with an example (Black Diamond): ------- [photo included] Tall Black woman: Name: Black Diamond Real Name : Maxine Walters Supervillain Survey Threat Rating: Alpha (Lowest rating) Known physical characteristics and …

I'm going to revisit my classic Girl Fight thread from a year ago. Last year I picked female characters from the comics. The rules were no powers and no gadgets - a straight-up, Grrl fist fight. This year the talent scouts are looking for somethuing a little differant. This is going to be a full, super powered knock-down drag-out. All powers will be fully used, and each fighter will know in advance who they're fighting next. The fight will take place in a special arena. And the contestants will be nominated by YOU! Here's the catch - They must be 350 point characters from the official Champions universe. Each character must be from an official sup…

I need some help with a plot I started laying the griundwork for in my current Champions campaign. After picking up and reading through the whole DEMON book, one of my players made up a character that fit in perfectly with Luther Black's vision of the person who would represent the King of Lost Hope. (A young woman with pale skin and black hair, and a shadow manipulator to boot.) It was too good an oppertunity to pass up so I started setting it up that Luther Black was contacting her through her dreams. It's gone on for a few sessions now and I have the player freaked out about it. We're on a break from the campaign as someone else takes a turn running something, so I've …

I'm not a big system guru, and don't follow the "Champions" setting - this will be my first purchase. I also want to be able to use the Vibora Bay setting in Unknown Armies, Buffy, and possibly WoD (classic) if I ever get a chance to run it. Can I do that, and can you give me reasons why you would reccomend - or not - the book. Pros, feel free to shill. I'm sold on the concept and kinda like proof of execution.
