I was wondering if it is ever concievable for the Hero System, specifically in the Champions Genre to design something of the depth and magnitude of the World's Largest Dungeon. I'm sure it is possible with Fantasy Hero, but Champions is a whole different thing. I've been racking my brain on this question and honestly, I think the only way it is possible is if it either involves Dr. Destroyer or Istvatha V'han. And of those two, the latter is the most likely. If you were to attempt to tackle a Champions equivalent of The World's Largest Dungeon, what would you do with it?

Hey all, Background: I'm experimenting with building a multipower for a wind-based energy projector (named Hurricane) and I'm trying to come up with interesting powers that might have unique applications. How would you build the following, keeping in mind that the campaign has a 80AP limit and that the multipower is thus built on a 80 point reserve? Power: a wind so loud that it interferes with verbal communications within a given area, even if these people are trying to speak with people who aren't present-through electronic means (radio, tv, etc). Thanks in advance.

I have the barest bones of an idea but have run into a mental block so I'm asking for suggestions. The bare bones of the idea is: The President is made aware of a 'problem' (whether through Secret Service, FBI, CIA, whatever but not SAT/PRIMUS). The President calls his staff for information on heroes to assist with the problem. The staff tell of the nationally known hero group that has great skill dealing with national & international problems but that idea is nixed. The President wants a group not as well-known that can be called in quietly. The staff tell of a hero group known in name & deed only in L.A. but nothing is known 'about' the heroes. The Presiden…

Okay folks, I need a bit of advice. Shortly I'll be running a tabletop Hero System game in a non-Champions super hero world. The group consists of myself and six players, all of which are familiar gaming with each other. The players have a decent background of gaming experience, but sadly limited to the D20 system. None of them have experience with either the Hero System, or roleplaying in a super hero game.... With that said, I have been impressed so far by the character concepts and rough drafts presented to me. I have sat down with each player and constructed a well made background for each, and Im happy with how things are going....I am also helping …

Who is the fiery gentleman depicted on page of 109 of Champions? (he also occasionally appears as side art just to your left) And is there a write up, or have I just missed it?

"Anything that can go wrong, will," is one version of Murphy's law. Believe it or not, there was a real Murphy, Captain Edward A. Murphy, U.S.A.F. What he actually said was, "If there's a way to do it wrong, he'll find it," after noticing that a technician had wired a transducer wrong. However, he didn't create this law, he was quoting Sod's Law, so named because it could happen to any poor sod. So much for history. The idea came to me that Murphy's law would be a cool curse. It transforms someone, or something, into the same purson, or thing, with unluck. Two questions for our wise panel. Is this a major or minor transformation? How much unluck?

My Champions PCs are a third-tier mystically themed team who have been dealing with demons, rogue Oracle agents and Extra-dimentional kidnappers. The big dogs (NPCs) in the campaign are the New Challengers who have the big base and government sponsorship. Last Sunday, a PC asked what the New Challengers were doing and I quickly said "They're off fighting Dr. Mindkiller and his minions." Now everyone wants more info on Dr. Mindkiller. Well, I just pulled the name out of my butt and really don't know who this guy is or what his goals are. I implied that he was a huge deal in the supervillian community and was a household name. I know he wears black and silver and has a…

He all, Have been working on a 350 pt champs guy just for fun, no specific game in mind. He is done execpt for a good name. I wont spend the time typing out the character competely, but here is a thumbnail: His is big, cobalt blue, and bald, with crytaline skin. (A mutant). He is faster and tougher than a normal person (although only in the moderate range as supers go) and has low end superhuman strength (pick up a car, not a buidling). His powers focus on an EC defined as "bio-electrical generation", which includes a force field, and area affect flash and stun drain, a dammage shield, and flight. His skills include some martial arts training (Judo/Akido st…

Anyone keep track of the many and varied huge and small hidden bases in thier world. Between Destroyer, Viper, the Warlord, IHA, PSI, Malachi (or Teleious if you prefer), Ultimates, Euro-Star, and various other groups that appear out of nowhere.

This is a revisitation of my classic Girl Fight thread from a year ago. Last year, I picked female characters from the comics. The rules were no powers and no gadgets - a straight-up, Grrl fist fight. This year it's going to be a full, super powered knock-down drag-out. All powers will be fully used, and each fighter will know in advance who they're fighting next. The fight will take place in a special arena. And the contestants are all 350 point characters from the official Champions universe. The nominations are in. In your replies, please post who wo thing would win in a fair, full, super powered battle. No ambushes, all powers available for use…

How does a Super Hero with a very public identity get a job under an assumed name legally? If there is a program already established in the Champion Universe for this, that would be helpful also. Thanks

This is not plots for a mastermind but for the Mastermind. For those curious he is in the Freedon City book and could best be described as a cro magnon man kidnapped by an alien ship, learned enough to take it over, became a master of it. Designed himself a perfect body with powerful TK abilities and has extensive knowledge of genetics and other sciences. He see's hiself as a protector of humanity and will lead them to a golden age ( that they don't agree with his vision is a sad commentary on the blindness of the human race, but they will learn to follow and accept his vision) So sort of Gravitar's powerset with Teleios' science back up. But what sort of p…

I am devising a character who can grow tendrils from his body quicky, to act as extra limbs, with a very long range. I think this should be built as a form of TK, but since he can make as many tendrils as he needs, do I need to add an AOE advantage to best simulate it?

Or another character similar to him, in my Paragons PBEM? The player had to quit, but the character was enjoyable and iconic so I'd like to keep him around. I'd also accept another speedster for the team as well. With the release of Hudson City, I've been wanting to give a Dark Champions campaign a go. Have any of you run Shadows of the City in its entirety or even portions of it? If you have, I'd like to know how it went and if there were any ways in which you altered the adventure. And I'm interested in your general opinion and critique of the book. Thanks! RL

I am thinking of a character- basically in the martial artist vein, but NCM with onoly a few noncombat skills. He would certainly be more on the 250 scale than the 350 scale, but intended to play with 350 scale characters. He is an extreme stuntsman, fearless, and uses his body as a weapon- specifically, using a crash helmet to protect his head while he Move Thrus his targets. Name help please?

My superhero group has decided to brave the supermage's library. Kullervo, the mage, was the guardian of a set of powerful books, which he kept in a mystical dimension accessible from his library. This mantle of guardianship has been passed from supermage to supermage over generations. Talisman, DEMON, and other groups have been after these books for a long time. My mental image was of Ash's quest in Army Of Darkness, mixed in with some bizarre surreal Cthuloid dreamworld kind of stuff. Recently, Kullervo's soul got trapped in a netherdimension, so the rest of the team, at Witchcraft's urging, is going to fetch the books to (a) prevent bad guys from getting it, and (…

I was just having an interesting e-conversation with a friend of mine about motivations for super-heroes. He said that there are five classic reasons why someone uses their powers for good: Idealistic (Superman, most Golden-Age Characters) Avenging/atoning for a personal tragedy (Batman, Spider-Man) Inherits heroic "mantle" (Silver Age Green Lantern, Buffy) Thrill-Seeker (Booster Gold) Reluctant/Shoved into it (Cyborg, Hulk) I added: Apprentice/Inspired by another hero (Robin, 2nd Nite-Owl) Your thoughts?

Teen Mutant with Unstable Emotion Manipulator powers with shape shifting powers. I was thinking of having his powers develop and stablize into a Multiform with each form having unique Psychic Emotion Based Powers with Empathic Invulnerability for his main form. Hate- Brick style Powers Fear- Intimidation & Teleporting Powers Love- Extreme Attractivenss & Charm Based Powers Bliss- Enhanced Intelligence & Healing powers Now Originally The Unstable character had love and charm powers with shape shifting powers. I'd Like to know if anyone has another view on the Multiform Stablization.
