Thanks to a friend I have 5 nicely scanned pages of all the new "Legacy" figs due out end of next month, beginning of March. If anyone wants copies to see what might be good modding fodder or just what they made, drop me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll send them along.

I'm going to introduce a powerful artifact into my game... into the hands of a villain: the Sword of Troy. But, I'm running into an issue. The recent release of the movie Troy has made it impossible to find anything on the web assocated with the the sword of Troy that is not a movie reference. Can anyone point me in the direction of a site that details the history of the sword from first appearance to last known location? It would be greatly appreciated.

I was _sure_ I'd seen a thread that had a write up of Kim Possible somewhere on the boards. But after much searching, no luck. Was it a figment of my imagination? If it was, could someone do one for me anyway? If it wasn't, what happened? (Frustrated and Confused - WhammeWhamme)

In The HERO System Bestiary, they include a sample "Godzilla" style Monster. (Page 199). After looking at it, I can see how an "average" and archetypical group of 5-6 350 point PC's would have a good and difficult struggle bringing that sucker in. It would be a logical creature to fight and the PC's would be in for a tough but not unbeatable fight. But....it would get annihilated by a couple of tanks. The National Guard would be able to kick it's butt up one side of the street and down the other. So...on to my idea. Do you think it's "fair" to make true Giant Monsters? They are mentioned in CU after all (pg 94). And if I did, would the following seem reas…

I'm certain we all agree that metagaming (using player knowledge to influence character actions) to gain an advantage is a bad thing. My question now is ... is metagaming to gain a disadvantage a bad thing? Last night, my wife fired up her old Champions game (HAPPYDANCE!), and we ran into (and over) Black Paladin. As a player, I was aware that BP had a 2xSTUN from Electricity Vulnerability. Additionally, in my character's little 'powers/tactics' section, I state that he usually opens with his Volt Blast, because he has a Code vs Killing and it's Stun Only. So, it would have been completely in-character for Blues to open up with his Volt Blast. But I didn't. …

I'm fairly new to the system and I'm trying to create a body control power. To be a little more specific, my character has to touch the person but then disappears and basically possesses them. I was thinking it would be something like mind control but that's not really giving me the effect i'm looking for. A little help please?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fictional_chemical_substance It does include such staples as "Adamantium" and "Vibranium". Spice up your next campaign with the supervillain mastermind attempting to obtain one of these chemicals for some evil master plan.

I have a player who created a streching character for an upcoming Teen Champs campaign. He is the son of Skyscraper, a character I created for this thread... http://herogame.dans.cust.servlets.net/forums/showthread.php?p=488531#post488531 ...and liked so much, I retconned him into my campaign world. Skyscraper was a minor Bronze Age character (always a guest star, never his own book in comics terms). His son, rather than just being able to grow, has more control over his molecular structure, which gives him his maleability. The player hopes to grow the character into a Martian Manhunter type shape shifter with Growth, Shrinking, etc... What I'm looking …

Mmmmm...this has probably been done before but here goes! Lets say you woke up one morning and found you had a power or talent that you obviously didn't have when you went to sleep....what would it be? Would you discover that one of you senses had been heightened or perhaps you could read other peoples thoughts. Perhaps you woke up with scaley skin, or an insect eyes. Would it be something that would help or hinder your everyday life? A couple of extra arms may be handy but think of the social implications. It may of course have happened to a percentage of the population so you might not be the only one. Would you become a Hero or choose a darker path? Like I s…

When running a game and juggling a multitude of agents, Villains, robots, and NPC's, it was always easy because stats were always provided on one page for easy copying. The way the characters are presented in the fifth edition books is a bit cumbersome the way they are spread out on two or more pages. I don't know if anyone else out there has found this to be a hassle when doing your prep work, but I for one would appreciate Hero Games to take this into account when doing the layouts for future material.

What I'm trying to build now is a character who has pretty extensive psionic powers; in times of need, she can 'overpower' them (kind of like Pushing, but without that particular mechanic), increasing the power but taking damage in the process. The latter part is obviously Side Effects, but the former ... The powers that she can boost are all in a Multipower, though some powers that don't boost well are in there too (It's hard to figure out how to boost Invisibility this way for me). I came up with three ways to do it: Aid, Succor, and a 'secondary' Multipower that boosts some slots of the first (functionally the same as making it a 90 point MP with the top 15 poin…

Again something strange came up in playing Meeb the alien amoeba this week. What kind of "physical" based everyman skills would an amoeba have. Some everyman skills are culture, but some are almost biological.. so the question is what kind of "biological" everman skills would fit a man size ameoba.

Consider... Let's say the German-Japanese Axis won World War 2 (however you want to rationalize a possible victory). In the aftermath, they split America up. West of the Mississippi is occupied by Japanese Imperial forces, east of the river lies the German occupation. Now, advance that to the present day, 60 years later. What's life like in America in 2005? Specifically, in a major metropolis such as New York City? Is there some kind of resistance 6 decades after the fact? How present is the Third Reich, and how much control do they exert over Americans? How much do the Nazis allow Americans to govern themselves? Are there Gestapo or SS goons everywhere?…

Hi, I'm a long time D&D player who just picked up the Sidekick book. Our D&D group decided to give Champions a shot on alternating weeks with D&D. This gives me a chance to take a break from DM and be a player. None of us have played Champions (or any Hero game), so we're fumbling around in the dark right now. I have a character idea, but I can't seem to translate it very well. Here's the basics: I want a motorcycle based hero who has an energy whip. He rides by, wraps up bad guys with the whip, and then keeps going. In addition, he can use his whip to drain strength and do normal damage. You get the idea. My questions: 1. How do …

Ok Herophiles, here's the deal. As most of you know I have been updating my 10+ year old characters to fifth addition via Hero Designer. I began working on one of my old master villains and was wondering a few things. BUt first here's a quick background. Former research scientist, pissed at the world attitude, ridiculed by his scientific peers. Wants revenge and decides something to do about it. Builds a pair of bracers to give him the power. Now back in the day we, I say we because I was co-gming with a friend and we were building him together, bought the powers IIF Bracers. However while updating the character I decided that he fused himself to the bracers and that…

While punching Black Paladin into Hero Designer, I noticed his Eye of Souls (Detect Souls, etc) power. So I'm wondering just what you'd need to do to be considered 'soul-less', besides being something like a robot. Would this be a perk? A disadvantage? A zero-point 'just kinda there'?

After reading the Angel Sucks thread, I felt compelled to ask this question. A while back in my FtF game, two of my players came up with brand spanking new characters. Their old characters were thrown through a portal to hell (ostensibly to shut it). The two old characters were Minotaur (a human man-bull brick) and Ladyhawke (A female version of Angel, essentially). Well about 7 months later I bring back Minotaur in an NPC fashion, with his now calling himself Taurus and leading the Zodiac. He claimed after his little jaunt through hell that he wound up in ancient greek times and has been living ever since. Now the players are curious what happened to Ladyh…

I know that several people have made versions of their favorite Champs PCs in the online game City of Heroes. Has anyone tried converting a COH character back to Champions?

Hello, Just wondering about Kapilasa, from Arcane Adversaries. While I think his character concept is fine in general, he seems to have flushed 67 points down the toilet on an unusable Power that, sadly, is supposedly his major contribution to his villain team, the Devil's Advocates. It is his "Possession" power, a Mental Transform that allows him to take over a victim's body for a long period of time. The victim will get Kapilasa's EGO, INT, and PRE, and all Skills based on these stats, and all his mental and psionic Powers. The Powers add up to 179 points, the Skills to another 32, and his EGO, INT, and PRE cost 29 points above their starting values. Tha…

Digital Hero subscribers interested in playtesting/testreading Villainy Amok can now find the manuscript in the usual place. However, I forgot to change the deadline -- it's not today. It's two weeks from today, the 31st. If you have any comments or questions, please post 'em in the "Company Questions" thread of the same name.
