A nice little semi-auto handgun in .22 long rifle. Here's what I'm considering: A Ruger SR22 with the 4.5 inch barrel. A Ruger Mark IV Target or a Walther P22 I've checked and all three are legal up here in MA so I'm good on that front. But I've never fired these so I'm hoping some of you folks have some experience with them and can point me in the right direction.

So it's Thanksgiving. The President has pardoned a turkey. This year like last year it was himself so no surprise there. Why not party as in previous year's like 1928 ? Eat poorly, drink rotgut spirits or beer, contract syphilis and get killed by gangsters protecting illegal drink shipments. So to the American posters HAVE A NICE DAY !

I really must need to get off the allergy medication. I was thinking about we could make casting decisions that would be completely horrific. The ones I have so far: (examples) Don Knotts as Rambo Jerry Lewis (voice) as Sauron and Abbott & Costello as Saruman and Grima

Country music legend, picker, and TV host Roy Clark has died at age 85. Now, some of you probably only know him as that corny guy that co hosted Hee Haw (more on that in a moment) but Roy Clark was one of the greatest guitarists of all time. He had faster hands than anyone on earth and could flat out play. Here's an episode of The Odd Couple (cut to just the musical bits and setup) to help you catch up to speed. Watch it all the way to end, for the most amazing display of musical talent ever. Now, about Hee Haw. Roy Clark wasn't the only legend there. His co-host Buck Owens was also one of the greatest singer/songwriters ever …

You may choose five comic book creators from this list. The top 3 vote getters will be inducted into the EYG Hall of Fame in the 2018 NGD Forum Award. Poll is open until Wednesday, November 7th. Please vote! There are two polls because there were too many choices on the poll to have it be just one. So there are two polls listed. The choice for "None Above" works because I believe you need to have a vote in both polls to make it work. So if all five of your choices are in the top poll, then you need to have the bottom poll clicked on the "None in the bottom".

The English Premier League season starts in two weeks (august 11th) and I figured it was time to start the thread for soccer of all varieties (Europe, MLS, the upcoming World Cup). I don't know how Simon feels about it, but if someone wants to bring up FIFA and the corruption therfein, I would not object. I'm seeing previews that say Chelsea is likely to repeat. Manchester United keeps bringing in forwards, which means fewer starts and less playing time for Marcus Radford (one of their brilliant young prospects). Meanwhile, Major League Soccer in the US has been actively recruiting aging European stars to bolster team rosters, and some of these players have rejuvenate…

Hey all, As some of you may know, I run a website called Embrace Your Geekness and at that website, we have a Hall of Fame. We do a poll every year where we at EYG nominate several items, people, characters, movies etc and the top vote getters are inducted into the EYG Hall of Fame. This is the third year for this process. How this works: I am looking for nominations from the community of NGD for the best comic book artists or comic book writers of all time. I would ask that you nominate those creators who you think have done enough work that they could be enshrined in the EYG Hall of Fame. Like the "Greatest …

Unfortunately, the new series is only for those who've purchased CBS All Access. The name of the series is Star Trek: Lower Decks and is intended to be a comedy about the less important people on a completely unimportant starship and the various things which those people do. But on the bright side, it's being written by someone who is an obsessive fan of the various TV series so I would presume that he would know all the tropes which could be lampooned. I would assume from the announcement that it is being written during TNG time period but nothing specifically states that. http://www.startrek.com/article/new-trek-animated-s…

Exactly what it says on the tin. Naturally, I've already thought of the really obvious ones: Thriller, Dead Man's Party, The Monster Mash. What else have you got?

The Halloween Showdown Superdraft is about the monsters this year. The goal is to create a plot around the monster of your choice and the heroes trying to stop it from doing its business. Will any team be up to the task of protecting its turf from a giant horde of destruction. The first pick is location. The pick is exclusive. The second pick is the monster. He/she/it is the hero of the draft. Four heroes and three options can be picked in any order after the first two picks. We want normal human/human baseline protagonists for the heroes. The edge of this is Buffy and Doc Savage, so Jack O'Neill is in, the Doctor is out. No masked men…

Roughly an hour ago as of this post, the site started acting screwy and now all you get when you go there is an HTML template page. I checked with the subreddit and everyone there thinks the site's down for maintenance. This is the first time in a long time I've seen something like this happen.

Since the season for spookiness is upon us, tell us about something that had you crawling under the bed as a child but you can now laugh about as an adult. For me, definitely the horror movies from the days of my youth. In many cases, the special effects didn't age well, the characters pick up the Idiot Ball and run with it right into the in zone, etc. In one scene in Galaxy of Terror, they were actually using a Scooby Doo slurping sound effect in a scene that was supposed to be frightening. I rolled on the floor laughing my demonic arse off when I watched it again after so many decades.

Paul Allen, co-founder of the uberpowerful Microsoft Corporation who became owner of the Portland trailblazers and Seattle Seahawks, has passed away at the age of 65 from Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a disease had had been battling with varying degrees of success for several years. His legacy is complicated. He is well known as a philanthropist, but then he made his fortune through Microsoft and its controversial business practices. He "persuaded" Seattle to build him a downtopwn stadium for his team, and gave them a Super Bowl championship in return. He is cited as the primary reason there is still pro basketball in Portland, having financed the Rose Garden in the…
