Several of the local schools are starting fall camp this week, so I figured this is as good a time as any to start a new college football thread. A few items of personal interest: 1. Can BYU recover from last season's 4-9 debacle and save Kalani Sitake's job? 1a. If Sitake does lose his job, who would replace him? 2. Most of the power rankings I've seen lately have Utah ranked number 3 in the Pac-12. Is this high praise for Kyle Wittingham's program, or an indictment of how mediocre the Pac-12 was last year, including 1-8 in bowl games? 3. Weber State, who made it to the FCS quarterfinals last year, has lost some players to …

I didn't see one, so I'll start us off. The Noah's Ark Superdraft* is well under way as I type, but what's next? I had a wild idea for a future draft, possibly even February. In honor of billion dollar movie Aquaman, how about an Aquatic Superdraft? Locations must be in or on the ocean, and you must draft at least two aquatic characters. It would be competitive, that's for sure. *Which I'm having a blast with.

Among the messes we had to solve when my mother got home from her surgery and rehab was the answering machine. A couple of people left messages but no names (I guess assuming we'd automatically recognize voice*). I mean even when I call my dad and step-mom, and reveal my name in the voice mail, just in case. *Not to mention one was semi-incoherent

I just watched the movie a few hours ago and thought I start a threat talking about it. I wish I did not have to run out to take a bathroom break halfway through (in the Sahara section), because I propably missed something really funny or interesting. The initial fight (in the submarine) reminded me a lot of Bud Spencer and his comedic fightscenes, of all roles. His way of casually tanking everything the bad guys threw at him? Totally Bud Spencer. I mean knocking the scared foe out with the door he is hinding behind? If there was a book about "Slapstick Fightscenes with Bud Spencer", that was propably right in there on the first 10 pages. Despite the…

This is apparently a CGI-animated film from Marvel/Disney in which there are many, many Spider-Men (and Spider-Woman and even the Spectacular Spider-Ham) all hagving to work together to prevent the destruction of the multiverse (or at least the ones they came from). I haven't seen much talk about this, but it's apparently a major release from Disney's perspective -- not as big as Ralph Breaks the Internet, perhaps, but still pretty important. The first Disney animation/Marvel collaboration was Big Hero Six, which people thought was pretty good (I haven't seen it). Here's the trailer my search pulled up -- there are probably better ones. (EDIT: And…

Apparently, this will be 4 ep. mini-series released before xmas. IMO this is one of the greatest stories ever created and should be treated onscreen as such. As some know, there is a version done in the late 70s that was quite dark and really short-changed a lot of the characters. Hopefully 4 episodes will allow them to to tell nearly the full story. Sounds like top level voicework but I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in the animation.

I found this list on Reddit of a suggested viewing order for all the Marvel movies to date and decided to take the plunge and watch the movies again. It's a fun list because the author gives his/her rationale on the order that is basically a mix of chronological (as opposed to theatrical release) and over arching story elements. The list starts with Captain America: The First Avenger for example because it is chronologically the first movie and it introduces things like a baby SHIELD (SSR) an Nick Fury. I just finished Captain America: The First Avenger and am looking forward to revisiting the original Iron Man tomorrow

Diet Coke's four new flavors--Feisty Cherry, Ginger Lime, Twisted Mango, and Blood Orange--have been out for a few months now. I haven't tried any of them yet. I'm curious, but the reviews I've read online are not encouraging. So I figured I'd answer ask the Herophile hive-mind for some advice. Have any of you tried any of these flavors? Which ones do you like? Which ones do you hate? Which ones would you recommend? What did you like or hate about any individual flavor? Any useful information you can give me would be appreciated. Thank you!
