In case anyone's not familiar with it, the Omnihedron is a random number generator/table result program: it can generate random numbers for any combination and type of die, and can apply those results to tables you input including nested tables. In teaching myself the simple way to generate your own lists, I've input the random plot generator from Dark Champions. I had to include one caveat - since it doesn't have a method to query the user, it will generate two Goals one time out of six. Otherwise, it's the same as in the book. Once you have the Omnihedron installed, just open the .zip file and copy the .xml file therein into the "Lists" subdirectory in the Omn…

Does anyone here watch Paranoia Agent on cartoon network's toonami?? I think having a character based off Lil' Slugger would be a interesting plot hook or just a random encounter for a dark champions game.

I'm about to starting a CybHerOpunk adventure, and i'm reflecting about money factor In my setting, cyberware and weapons and like are buoght with money (not point), and worse, price are NOT dependent from Active Cost (in c'punk world, price are dictated from mode, not from value) Again, my campaign idea is to mantain money level down, ala Gibson Novels (to make few examples) But if i can spend few point to acquire huge cash, and with them buy powerful cyberware, things are lot unbalancing... my idea was to limit money perk, ando only permit is as "cash reserve", not "monthly wage" but... do you have some suggestion?? thanks

I'm having trouble understanding why the super skills in the 'Dark Champions' are built that way, as many of them don't match up with my understanding of the rules. Here are some of the specifics: Almost all the skills that have 'requires a (char/skill) roll' use the value for the 'requires an activation roll' limitation. Shouldn't this be 'requires a skill roll'? Are players supposed to adjust the cost of this limitation to match their char/skill rolls? How the heck is 'disquieting aura' built? I can't find anything about using CE to directly modify a characteristic, just about modifying characteristic rolls, and the cost for that doesn't match the 35 Ac…

PLAYERS PLEASE STAY OUT! After reading DC:TAS I came up with this bare bones outline for a possible campaign and I wanted to get a bit of feedback on it.. The style is Hudson City Knights with relatively low powered "trained normals" as PCs and villains and takes place in Hudson city. For the last few years, the city has been an upsurge in costumed criminals the likes of Penny Dreadful, Beatlemania, etc. The one unifying factor is an obsession to a theme or twisted "reason" for their bizarre behavior. The connection is Dr. Enigma. He's been running experiments on the nature of reality and how perception can alter it. The good doctor has been doping the city…

I am starting up a DC campaign using the 4th edition campaign book-Hudson City Blues. I was wondering if anyone else had used it successfully? I tried running it once but the campaign "fell off the rails" as it were due to too many dark and mysterious loner types. Getting them to cooperate was quite a pain(though the plot device helped some). So any horror/sucess stories?

Although I'm tempted to do it myself, I was wondering if anyone had already done the neavy lifting involved in writing up the Christian Bale version of Batman from Batman Begins. Gadgets included, probably Superheoric rules.

Hello all! I'm working on establishing some guidelines for firearms damage, and so far have had no luck locating any websites where a survey of firearms can be found. In particular, I am looking for the range of: * projectile (not cartridge) weight, and * muzzle velocity for small arms all the way up to artillery. The type of data I would be looking for would give me a general idea of, say, 150mm howitzers having a projectile weight in the range of 25 kg and muzzle velocity in the range of 650 m/s. Anyone know of any good sites? Thanks.

Its been many years since I played Champions ( late 80's?) but the dang bug has bit me once again, and I feel the need for Talon's wings to once again unfurl. But I find that I have somehow misplaced my rule books, although I still have a bunch of the older adventures. My plan is to run a DC game for players who have never played Champions. The books I have are as follows Justice Not Law #430 Hudson City Blues #438 Ninja Hero #501 Cyber Hero #505 Champs Universe #421 Mystic Masters #405 Then I have a few adventures such as Primus & Demon, Challenges for Champions, Invasion: Target Earth, Atlas Unleashed, Champions Presents. So here are m…

Hello all, I was just wondering does anyone remember Moon Knight? Now the next question, is he a Superhero or a Vigilante? Me I think of him as a Vigilante, but I would like to hear what other people think. Take care and be well, Gil

a.k.a. CybHerOpunk Hello again, i'm tryng to convert CP2020 genre in Hero rules; i'me usign DC so i've thinked this is right place. I've a question about a weapon: i'm using the "no multipower" rule for firearms (guns are build like single power, no-multipower, and "variable ammo" is only an advantage from "Real Weapon"), but insome case i must use multipower (rifle-GL combos, Laser builded with a 11mm, ecc.) I'm converting Cyborg Assault, a massive firearm for "cyberpsychotic retirement". In Interlock rule, this baby can fire 13mm High Explosive (wich ignore armor and does half damage like stun damage) or Acid Round wich "burn" armor In Hero my idea is to c…

When do you require Resource Points to be Spent? I thought that was one of the better ideas in "Dark Champions", but I reallized it would cause some problems. Does a character have to pony up the points for a satelite phone? What about a normal Cell phone? If they were Character points and we were in a regular champions game, I'd say Yes to the first and no to the second. But resource points? that's a new animal alltogether. Just curious. The thought came to me when I tried to give my character a nice gun and a can of pepper spray and realized that, if the DC writeups for both are used, I couldn't afford it.

I need help. I'm starting a new campaign... It's going to be the premier campaign for a fresh new world that I'm introducing the players to. I don't want there to be any prior history of super-heroing, or otherwise colorful/flashy, themed or custumed heroes. This is intended to make the player's characters the first of a new breed of modern-day mystery-men/vigilantes hunting the streets of America's Cities. The begining of the campaign will focos on one particular city, that is extremely corrupt at all levels of government and industry, full of violent criminals, and is generally in really bad shape. Later on down the line, I will introduce super…

Well, I've been away from the Hero system for about a year now, but after seeing both "Mr & Mrs Smith" and "Batman: the Begining", I've been seriously thinking about starting up a modern day action/adventure game featuring lots of gun toting mercenaries, car chases, ninja clans, helicopters shooting up the side of buildings and government cyborg assassins gone rogue. Needless to say, I'm thinking that Dark Champions is probably the way to go. But here's the thing, I have a fairly large group of players (8 to 12), most of whom are not at all familiar with the Hero system. The most important thing for me is make sure combat is fast and furious. Since I h…

This is my first post so please bare with me. My friend and I are working on DC campaign, the meta plot and minor plots are worked out so far. What we need is advice on how two GM's running at the same time should do it. I'm not sure if one should run the main body and the other help out with combat or should we share the load. Basically we want to here your thoughts and ideas. Signed Baffled in Bummertown

I'm a big reader... I've taken inspiration from movies before, but novels seem to inspire me more. I'm running a sort of Horror Hero meets Dark Champions over a cup of coffee with John Woo, campaign... the main thematic elements are gothic horror, but the heroes, for the most part, are your typical Woo-ish street-fighters and gunslingers. We're off to a good start, but I need some complications.. and really need to spin some plots to make the gothic horror elements shine, and interweave that with some more mundane criminal elements to give the characters a break. My reading has always tended towards horror, fantasy and some dabbling in Sci-Fi; so the underw…

I am in the process of designing a base in Hudson City for our Vigilante Campaign. This is a much more upscale team than our last DC campaign - The Omega Team so I would like the base to be a little closer to something that was put together by Bruce Wayne than The Punisher. My first question is location? I am thinking of placing it in Riverside (for quick citywide access) but that seems kinda pedestrian to me. Anyone have any ideas for where it could be and what it could be? It needs to have access to a helipad fairly close and tolerate large amounts of traffic going in and out. I was thinking of a parking garge with a sub-basement but I am not really happy with…

How is armor going to fare against a weaponized version of this badboy? I assume that the machine is huge and unwieldy but 30 kilometer per second is an ugly speed. Anyone want to take a stab at writing it up?

After some extensive research, I have come to the conclusion that the standard Kevlar Vests in the HERO rules does not realistically represent the real thing. Here is what I came up with: LEVEL I IIA II IIIA III IV WEIGHT 3.0 lbs 6.0 lbs 6.5 lbs 7.5 lbs 20.0 lbs 21.0 lbs PRICE $450 $700 $750 $850 $1,200 $1,300 rPD/rED 6/3 8/4 10/5 12/6 14/7* 16/8*…

Carol West, IST San Angelo administrator Sir John Royal's long time secretary, is legally blind (her vision is 20/225, which is worse than 20/200, the defined limit) and has a guide dog. She and her guide dog, Ginger, a golden retreiver, can talk mentally with each other and, by closing her eyes and concentrating, Carol can see through Ginger's eyes and vice versa. The first power is Mind Link in 5E and Mystic Link in 4E. Any idea what the second is? Carol uses non-perscription reading glasses for close-up work and can see up to three feet. Quoting her, "When I'm standing, I can't see my knees, much less my feet." Is the three foot range reasonable? When they're…
