This is a companion thread to the "Batman: The Animated Adventures" thread. The team Batman and Batgirl are forming to help protect Gotham are going to use a safehouse/auxiliary Batcave as their lair. The safehouse is an old four-bedroom, two story Victorian with a full basement and attic that's connected, through a basement tunnel, to the old church next door. Bruce obtained both, through whatever means he does, and converted an abandoned subway tunnel into an auxiliary Batcave. It has a lab, a shop, computers, a library/meeting room and a trophy room. The Victorian's usual residents are the DOSPA, Homeland Security, and PRIMUS liaisons and the team's doctor, nurs…

As my injury has prevented me from pursuing my crusade against the criminal element of the city, I have no choice but to recruit a team of operatives to fight for me. Kenji, a student of my old sensei, inspired this as such he will be on the team, He has taken the ops name of Shinobi. I worry about his morality as he has little problem with killing his opponents, but hopefully his honor will keep him in check. He brings Espianage and close combat skills to the team Foxy: She has been my partnet for 12 years, and while she has left for college, with my injuries she has insisted on returning to the city of shadows. I regret that she will not finish her educat…

Similar to FIfth Edition TAS, but with the cartoon like aspects dropped. The game is dark, violent and gritty even though it includes powers. The character are generally more vigilante in outlook and method, but with a few street level idealists. Powers are more subdued than full blown Champions though. Metahumans are a threat to the police and on a small unit level at their most powerful but won't be taking over the world or anything.

I believe that one can use Power Frameworks more frequently in DC. EC, MP, VPP can be used to 'buy' the following, without causing the Game Master to go insane: 1. Super-skills 2. 'Package' deals 3. Equipment Packages. Superskills would work nicely in a VPP, in particular. I was thinking that a 'Pretender' type character might be more plausible/possible with the this scheme in mind. In DC, they showed how an MP can be used to buy what essentially is a Police Officer's gear. MPs could be used to buy commando style gear as well. EC could be used to buy 'super social skills'. Imagine the politician that has all of the necessary skills to really in…

Hey, Does anyone have any art for a DC:TAS Supers game? Along the lines of Teen Titans or The Batman art-style?

In case anyone's not familiar with it, the Omnihedron is a random number generator/table result program: it can generate random numbers for any combination and type of die, and can apply those results to tables you input including nested tables. In teaching myself the simple way to generate your own lists, I've input the random plot generator from Dark Champions. I had to include one caveat - since it doesn't have a method to query the user, it will generate two Goals one time out of six. Otherwise, it's the same as in the book. Once you have the Omnihedron installed, just open the .zip file and copy the .xml file therein into the "Lists" subdirectory in the Omn…

Does anyone here watch Paranoia Agent on cartoon network's toonami?? I think having a character based off Lil' Slugger would be a interesting plot hook or just a random encounter for a dark champions game.

I'm about to starting a CybHerOpunk adventure, and i'm reflecting about money factor In my setting, cyberware and weapons and like are buoght with money (not point), and worse, price are NOT dependent from Active Cost (in c'punk world, price are dictated from mode, not from value) Again, my campaign idea is to mantain money level down, ala Gibson Novels (to make few examples) But if i can spend few point to acquire huge cash, and with them buy powerful cyberware, things are lot unbalancing... my idea was to limit money perk, ando only permit is as "cash reserve", not "monthly wage" but... do you have some suggestion?? thanks

I'm having trouble understanding why the super skills in the 'Dark Champions' are built that way, as many of them don't match up with my understanding of the rules. Here are some of the specifics: Almost all the skills that have 'requires a (char/skill) roll' use the value for the 'requires an activation roll' limitation. Shouldn't this be 'requires a skill roll'? Are players supposed to adjust the cost of this limitation to match their char/skill rolls? How the heck is 'disquieting aura' built? I can't find anything about using CE to directly modify a characteristic, just about modifying characteristic rolls, and the cost for that doesn't match the 35 Ac…

PLAYERS PLEASE STAY OUT! After reading DC:TAS I came up with this bare bones outline for a possible campaign and I wanted to get a bit of feedback on it.. The style is Hudson City Knights with relatively low powered "trained normals" as PCs and villains and takes place in Hudson city. For the last few years, the city has been an upsurge in costumed criminals the likes of Penny Dreadful, Beatlemania, etc. The one unifying factor is an obsession to a theme or twisted "reason" for their bizarre behavior. The connection is Dr. Enigma. He's been running experiments on the nature of reality and how perception can alter it. The good doctor has been doping the city…

I am starting up a DC campaign using the 4th edition campaign book-Hudson City Blues. I was wondering if anyone else had used it successfully? I tried running it once but the campaign "fell off the rails" as it were due to too many dark and mysterious loner types. Getting them to cooperate was quite a pain(though the plot device helped some). So any horror/sucess stories?

Although I'm tempted to do it myself, I was wondering if anyone had already done the neavy lifting involved in writing up the Christian Bale version of Batman from Batman Begins. Gadgets included, probably Superheoric rules.

Hello all! I'm working on establishing some guidelines for firearms damage, and so far have had no luck locating any websites where a survey of firearms can be found. In particular, I am looking for the range of: * projectile (not cartridge) weight, and * muzzle velocity for small arms all the way up to artillery. The type of data I would be looking for would give me a general idea of, say, 150mm howitzers having a projectile weight in the range of 25 kg and muzzle velocity in the range of 650 m/s. Anyone know of any good sites? Thanks.

Its been many years since I played Champions ( late 80's?) but the dang bug has bit me once again, and I feel the need for Talon's wings to once again unfurl. But I find that I have somehow misplaced my rule books, although I still have a bunch of the older adventures. My plan is to run a DC game for players who have never played Champions. The books I have are as follows Justice Not Law #430 Hudson City Blues #438 Ninja Hero #501 Cyber Hero #505 Champs Universe #421 Mystic Masters #405 Then I have a few adventures such as Primus & Demon, Challenges for Champions, Invasion: Target Earth, Atlas Unleashed, Champions Presents. So here are m…

a.k.a. CybHerOpunk Hello again, i'm tryng to convert CP2020 genre in Hero rules; i'me usign DC so i've thinked this is right place. I've a question about a weapon: i'm using the "no multipower" rule for firearms (guns are build like single power, no-multipower, and "variable ammo" is only an advantage from "Real Weapon"), but insome case i must use multipower (rifle-GL combos, Laser builded with a 11mm, ecc.) I'm converting Cyborg Assault, a massive firearm for "cyberpsychotic retirement". In Interlock rule, this baby can fire 13mm High Explosive (wich ignore armor and does half damage like stun damage) or Acid Round wich "burn" armor In Hero my idea is to c…

When do you require Resource Points to be Spent? I thought that was one of the better ideas in "Dark Champions", but I reallized it would cause some problems. Does a character have to pony up the points for a satelite phone? What about a normal Cell phone? If they were Character points and we were in a regular champions game, I'd say Yes to the first and no to the second. But resource points? that's a new animal alltogether. Just curious. The thought came to me when I tried to give my character a nice gun and a can of pepper spray and realized that, if the DC writeups for both are used, I couldn't afford it.
