I'm trying to design some cyberware that can grant an adrenaline surge to get people up and out of combat. Medic runs up sticks a guy and he's somwhat better, for a while. something like 2-3d6 healing RSR. but I need a mechanic to have the effects temporary and then a side effect of STUN only damage (Maybe body if I feel nasty). So yes you get him up and out but you better moniter him becuase he's going to crash in 30min, an hour or whenever. I know side effects can cause the damage but how do I delay it and have the healing effect disappear. Can I link the healing with a delayed effect NND attack? There has got to be a simpler way I'm just not there yet. My rule…

Assuming the DOSPA exists in the Dark Champions universe, are the superhero liaisons former military people, bureaucrats, people from the intelligence field or from the law enforcement field?

Has anyone out there tried to make a martial arts based on hitting people with vehicles? I'm thinking you would need a two-wheeler for spins and things. A lot of move-throughs but I would like strikes too. Either HTH attacks from the back of the bike, or, (more what I want) useing the bike itself to attack. The character I'm thinking of this for would be a Shadowrun rigger-type. Phenomenal driver skills/vehicle control but can't move his body while driving. He's effectively tied to the bike. I thought it would be fun. Has anyone out there tried this? -Peace

Two questions: 1) Hypnosis is pretty popular in many actiony TV shows and movies, and while not as powerful as its made out to be (because the target has to be willing), it has real world effects. Do you think Hypnosis should be permited in the average DC game? 2) Fifth edition writes it up with Mind Control, but does that handel all the applications? Or should it really be a multipower of some kind? Issues that raise this point: a) One of the most popular uses is "Go back to the night of April 3rd, at 9:00 PM. Where are you?", which seems like some kind of clairsentience build. Most real world hypnotists make their bread and butter with habit breaking comm…

This a call to all the experienced Hero players out there. I need some advice. I've been playing Hero for about two years now. I'm taking the plunge to try and run a game for our group. The group has an established world that they know and love. Our main GM has been running it for about 15-20 years now. Not sure exactly how long as I am a new-comer. So it's a pretty tough audience with established expectations. Of course they are all nice and helpful but I would prefer my baptism-by-fire to not end in charred remains. Right now the biggest roadblock I'm encountering is the mechanics. I have a good grasp on the basics. It just seems that creating NPC's/Enemies…

I have a few questions about these types of sights. I believe that the collimating/reflex sight is also called a "holographic" sight by some companies. Is that correct, or is that another type of sight? Having never used one just how effective they really are. Dark Champions says that they grant a +2 OCV and +10 RMod to the gun they are fitted to and they give +2 PER vs. darkness, but they are only good out to 125", beyond that no bonus. Is this realistic? It seems like this will pretty much negate range from being a factor in combat. Most of our DC combats take place in less than half of that 125" distance.

This is a campeign Idea I am working on for a Dark Champions* campeign. All the characters live and operate in "Macob City" (The city name is a place holder). It is a dark city full of corupt cops and politicians, insane villains, etc... The main city hero was "The Fox", until he is injured in battle and crippled. The Fox does not give up however and uses his great resources to fund a group of lesser heroes (Going so far to recruit some to the cape & Cowl) to keep his city safe. The characters are given a "Fox Den" (a base, I see an old warehouse right now, out on the docks), some Fox-Cycles (Motorcycles, non-combat but a couple improvements like a gps lo…

A friend suggested cross-posting these to the dark champion forum. Bth would need tweaks to fit into a high powered DC campaign; I'll suggest some after the posts. The easiest way to work The Lion into a DC campaign is to drop his Kai attak MP, and then reduce his Dex to a bit under campaign max and his SPD to 4. If you still need to save points or downpower him, drop all of his Stats to NCM, and trim a DC off of his MA. The core concept of a high-STR pain resistant Martial atrist should be held onto as much as possible. The Lion is modled on heroes including Shaft, Blackbelt Jones, Remo Williams, the landlady from Kung-Fu Hustle, and the original Black Canary.

The World: Much like our world, December 28th 2004. The streets of New York City, arguably the greatest city on the face of the Earth, possibly the most dangerous as well. Corruption, drugs, crime and vice rule the streets. Violence is the law of the land and the ruthless hold sway, but no more. You will make a difference. You have the power. Either threw dedication, training and an unknown “Gift†you have been handed the power to take back the streets, to protect (or avenge) the innocent and punish the guilty. The authorities might call you Vigilante, perhaps even serial killer, but you know what you are. You are the savior of a new century, a light in the darkness. T…

I'm considering running a spin-off campaign for a 'Batman & Robin'-esque spinoff from the Champions of Justice in our long-running campaign, the RCU. These two characters are powerful renditions of Batman and Robin. I'm hoping to detail some of the Rogue's Gallery that Guardian and Shrike have accumulated in their solo careers away from the JSA type book, CoJ. My problem is coming up with decent stories. I need to create themed villians that could possibly challenge the heroines. But, the power level is fairly higher than DC:TAS is usually considered. The attacks and defenses of the heroines aren't exaggerated but, they have a plethora of skills and the like. …

Description: It's just a scanner and a lot of computing power. The character lays strips of paper taken from a paper shredder on the scanner. The computer examines all the little strips and, after a few hours of brutish work, it presents its best estimates as to what the original papers looked like before they were destroyed. (as seen on a fictional spy show a while back) naturally, some shredders do a better job than others, and that gets reflected in the results. Now, reasoning from effect, this looks like it could be Precognition (look back in time to see what the paper looked like), but I could see it built as healing or transform as well. What do you think.

I was talking to a guy my family knows. His Cobra is "only" running at 11 lbs of boost. He sayst that is generating about 650 hp, and he is drag racing the "Superbikes" on an "he wins, I win, toss a coin" basis. 0-60 in 2.5 seconds??????!!!!!! I thought sub 4 was AWESOME!, but I guess I was even more out of touch than I thought.

Attached is a pdf that contains the first 6 or 7 pages of campaign background for the game I am working on. The characters will all be members of an organization called the Conclave. A black ops government supported group that combats criminals, terrorists and supernatural threats. Since I won't be able to do much work on it for a few days I thought I'd post it if anybody cares to take a look and comment. The attached background covers the History of the Conclave from its inception in the 1890s, up until the 1920s.

There are times I hate being a movie critic for one of the local radio stations, and sometimes I love it to death. This is one of the love it to death moments. See this movie, guys. Its worth the time and money. Robert Rodriguez is genius for putting this film together. It quite honestly looks like he filmed the comic book, right off the page.

Over in the Pulp Hero section, I've been posting some of the early Vincent and HRD motorbikes (and cheated a little by including the awesome Vincent Black Lightning, which was produced from 1948 to 1952). But the story doesn't end with the closure of Vincent HRD Motors in 1955. Back in 1991, Californian entrepreneur and biking enthusiast Bernard Li bought the Vincent name and set out to produce a new Vincent machine. He wanted something that had the look and feel of a big powerbike, but a more comfortable riding position. Years of development - and a deal with Honda to supply an engine - have resulted in new prototype machines. Li hopes to have production m…

In the movie unleashed, Jet Li plays Danny, a man who is as meek and quiet as a timid child. Until his trainer takes off his metal collar. Over the years Danny has been the victim of Mental and physical conditioning, such that the removal of his collar turns him into a lethal berserking animal, killing anyone he can get his hands on. How to do this? Limited Stats and powers, all with the "Immediately goes berserk" limitation? Or maybe a multiform? If multiform, would it need to be IPE?
