Has anyone played around with playing with a light cyber world. More like TekWar, Mutant X, Conflict: Earth settings where the society has not been totaly altered by the advent of new technology? I was tinkering around with handheld rail guns with VERY high ROF, Virutality implants like from Cybergen, etc. Any concepts like this play well into your concepts Dark Champions game? How would you change your Dark Champions tropes/character types to reflect this. I'm just doing a little research.

Disarming is an action of combat. But when does it become a super-skillable power? I'd like to have a very 'likely' melee disarm to PC arming trick. He reaches out and 'steals' the gun to his hands. Very moviesk.

For those gun nuts out there (As well as those better at creating things in hero then I am). How would you built the new XM8 assualt rifle? Would you do it as a multi-power for the different modes or just a single RKA? I built it as a multi-power but something feels "off" about it. Like I missed something. This is what I've got so far: XM8 Assualt Rifle: Multipower, 82-point reserve, all slots Extra Time (1 Turn (To change slots), Weapon reconfiguration; -1 1/4), STR Minimum 15 (STR Min. Cannot Add/Subtract Damage; -1 1/4), OAF (-1), Real Weapon (-1/4) u 1) Standard Mode: RKA 2d6 (vs. PD), 30 Charges (+1/4), Autofire (5 shots; +1/2); Required …

My copy of DC from the online store arrived today. Yay! It's bigger than Star Hero, but not as big as Fantasy Hero. I was comparing it with Danger International, and there IS a different feel. Not wrong, just different. Dark Champions has tons of useful and delicious info, but the 'feel' of the book is more 'Dark Champions'. Re-reading through Danger International, it has more of an 80s, world traveler, kind of feel. More James Bond, Soldiers of Fortune, Bring 'Em Back Alive kind of feel. The adventures in the back of Danger International - The Network/Night of the Ninja and Merchants of Terror kind of set the tone. Plus lots of great maps in the adventur…

Steve, Do you have any plans to use the Boston Cell of "The Network" (Danger International, page 152) in future Dark Champions stuff? If not, how would you feel about an article for Digital Hero that expanded on their limited writeups and converted them to DC 5E?

This thread is a tye-in to A Bat-ty Campaign Idea. In it, quirks, one point disadvantages are used. Christine is the DOSPA liaison assigned to Batgirl and her team. A former CIA operative, specializing in black-bag jobs, she transferred to the DOSPA and was assigned to the liaison pool after an enemy power accused the CIA of stealing top-secret data from that country and a disgruntled former agency executive spilled the beans and identified the agent as Shadowdancer, Christine's CIA code name. He died soon after, when a drunk driver ran him over. While in college, Christine acted in plays. While preparing to portray a fashionably-dressed woman in a play set in 1…

How useful is DC going to be to run an Iron Age Campions game, featuring truly super-powered characters but without four-color sensibilities and mentality ? I'm especially interested to get a more extensive coverage of the "vigilante superhero" concept.

The lucky bastards that I call friends, just went to Gencon. While they were there the picked me up copies of the UNTIL Superpowers Database (because I am an intrinsically lazy person), and Dark Champions (because I really loved the last edition of it). Can someone let me know what vigilantes and villains are detailed within DC (especially brand new ones)? Please?????

I can't help but completely dismiss the idea of running anything approaching a 4 Color campaign anymore. I just can't reconcile vigilantes and especially villains using massive, godlike powers that cause huge amounts of collateral damage and never intentionally killing anyone. Maybe I have become jaded by the real world over the years, but that kind of naivety just doesn't inspire me at all anymore. So I ask this.... Does the new version of DC cover more than street level heroes? Would it be a good resource to play a more Aberrant style game? I want the cold hard viciousness of the "real" world plus godlike powers.

The reason I bring this up is I just got ahold Dark Champions (an awesome book BTW). I noticed the section on Criminal Law was a little vague (at least compared to the rest of the book...yeash). Gold Rush Games has a the P.A.R.T. Soucebook on PDF for free for those who want to fill in the gap and apply criminal charges in their campaign. It's dedicated to Champions rather than Dark Champions , but adapts easily. The Criminal Laws/Charges are at the bottom. http://www.goldrushgames.com/files/PART.pdf Thanks GRG QM

Ok, I am trying to figure out if I should buy this book, honestly. I have not seen it. One- I am leary of the Genre books in general, having found only one (Fantasy Hero) to have been of use, so far. Champions Genre book- biggest waste of money I've spent on a Hero book. Star Hero- Eh, not interested. But the FH Genre book was VERY good, IMHO So, is DC like FH? I am interested in the modern setting and loved Danger Int when it was out. I do have some knowledge of spies, investigations, low level supers, etc. So if all it does is cover the genre (like Champions) then I have ZERO interest. On the other hand, if it does MORE like Fantasy Hero, then I think I would like it…

Hi gang, As we have become embroiled in another non-hero campaign run by another player, I must look to the future. Once upon a time we used to run a halloween game. With that in mind, I'm thinking a Dark Champions level Monster Squad game might be interesting for a 1 or 2-shot session between games around All-Hallow's Eve. In order to keep it from becoming a typical zomibe and vampire bash, does anyone have fitting suggestions for DC level monster foes? Who know, it may degenerate into a simple monster bash, but it depends on what foes I can come up with. For a setting, I'm thinking either an abandoned Asylum, Prison, or maybe even a school (so I can th…

Sorry about the cross post. Character background: *Shunk!* 8 inches of razor edged steel sank into the supine man’s back, pinning him to the restaurant floor like a butterfly to a collection pan. He twitched once, gurgled and lay still. Aiko rose smoothly unsheathing her katana from flesh with one sharp jerk. Stillness surrounded her, silence and blood, her two lifelong companions. The riot of battle, rising a fever pitch then ending a sudden, dreadful silence. It was almost like sex but slightly messier. She smirked, a crimson trickle running down her cheek like a tear. Yes, empty, quick and unsatisfying, she thought, looking over remains of her attackers…

New Campaign Looking For Players

Baron Samedi stared out of the floor-to-ceiling windows at the rain, pouring from the sky onto his city. His city. The thought always made him grin like a schoolboy just out on summer break. Behind him, the reports droned on and on. He listened, but didn't actually care. Hardy would fill in anything that the Baron missed later on. One of the many reasons the hardcases gathered around the table behind him were always nice and polite to the bookish, nerdish Hardy. Hardy had the ear of the Baron, and in this town that meant he had the ear of the only power that mattered. "... and he agreed to give us 60% of his take. Seein' how he's new to the city and don't…
