Allright guys Im a bit of a fan of V&V. So after you guys are done razzing me I would like to find out if there are any people out there who have seen Champions to V&V conversions. I have seen plenty of the inverse( from V&V to Champions ) but i was wondering if there was some of the inverse. Several of the V&V modules have the V&V to Champions comnversions but there is a distinct lack of the reverse. the math is kinda simple in some ways but it does get a tad bit more complex. the actual question was: was there conversion kits in the back of the early Champions modules for converting Champions to V&V? So if you have real an…

Hard to even think about making the Man of Steel in 350 pts, but here is what I think would be a decent start. One of my players asked the following: "I need a bit o' help here. The FX of the power I'm lookin' to build are as follows: a person essentially takes over the target's body by 'leaping' into them. They then have control of the person and access to their thoughts and memories, to a certain extent. They are essentially possessing the target and are untouchable except by psionic powers, until either the victim forces them via Ego roll, the possessor leaves voluntarily, or the possessor is 'knocked out' through psionic attacks or feedback." What do you think the best way to build it would be?

I would like to build a character somewhat similar to Spartan from Wild Cats. Now I have not followed the comic for a long time so this is completely my take and not a designer trying to replicate him in the most accurate manner. So here are my questions I would like to build the base character as an AI. The AI would be 350 points The AI would buy a Starship that is about 750 points and be a stock ship from the Vehicles book with two additions. Addition one: a teleportation device that will have global range. Addition two: A device that will create Automations (up to 4). The Automations will be created using summoning with the slavishly devoted advan…

Is anyone else jonesin' for new superhero miniatures? I repainted a beeyotch-load of Hero Clix, but their freakishly large combatdial thingies take up a hex and a half. As a side note: I offer the prize of twenty Slim Jims and a can of Mountain Dew to the person who can make a cool figure out of T.O. Morrow. What a craphound that loser is.

I have a friend who's dutifully trying to come up with a formula to determine how many supers of each type (crime-fighter, mystic, generic -- his breakdown) exist in any one area at any time. So far he's taken into account things like GNP, population, land area, age of civilization. Trouble is his current formula doesn't put enough mystic supers (folks like the Swamp Thing, Phantom Stranger, Dr. Strange, guys who wander around taking out the supernatural threats that fly under the radar of more generic supers) in Europe. Anyone have any ideas on what he can use in his formula? Current formula: Mystics = Land Area * sqrt of Civilization Age / constant

I give my villains experience. It ranges from 1-2 per encounter with the players so generally speaking, the players are getting better faster than than the villains but it keeps the villains from being static. Does anyone else do this? Also, what do you do with the XP? I give the skills/powers based on how the encounters go, with an occasional case of the XP going for something they need for that next encounter. For example, Lead Sin a 250-pt Power Suit was creamed in battle because both Reptile and Whisper kept blinding him. He now has a visor on his helmet that gives him an optical display instead of just having a glass shield (3-pt Flash Defense, OIF). N…

OK, folks, it’s time to get serious about the Origins Award write-in campaign that I’ve hinted at previously. To briefly recap, Hero Games products, including 5E, were completely shut out of the nominations for the 2002 Origins Awards, despite the high quality and importance of our 2002 releases. We want to correct this grievous oversight by mounting a write-in campaign. To succeed, we need YOUR help — and the help of anyone else you can recruit to vote on our behalf. If you’d like to know more, or would like to get directions on how to vote and other things you can do to help, please visit: http://herogame.dans.cust.servlets.net/news/newsWriteInCam…

Okay, here is an interesting bit to think aboutL: Characters get "Everyman skills" defined as things that while not everyone CAN do them, the vast majority of heroes should be able to, and a good amount of normals as well. Vehicles now get Everyvehicle abilitiess (headlights, AC/Heater, Radio, etc...) So now the meat of question 1, should Computers and bases be able to have Every abilities as well?

I don't want to start a political discussion I'll say it again: I DON'T WANT TO START A POLITICAL DISCUSSION! BUT, I was going through the CU Supers downlaodable pdf and came across a Palestinian super-hero called the Liberator. What the f@%^ with the Palestinian super-hero Liberator?! Liberating from what exactly? The Israeli opression?! This strikes me as VERY odd, not to say somewhat prejudiced. Where is the Israeli super-hero? Palestine has never been declared a country you know. Thank god I'm not very political and not offended by such triflings, but someone should set it straight.

I am using some generic created superhuman thugs who have no memory and trouble with forming creative thoughts. As the write up goes right now they have a handfull of CSls with their powers and nothing else. Any help would be appreciated. John

I was sitting in Western Humanities class (A philosophy class on old stuff), and the lecture was on Monastic lifestyles. The roll of the Western Monk, the mindset, the rules, all that good stuff. And I sat, and I had the idea for something. Not a 'Super Monk', but someone with super powers heading a monk order. His name would be Seraphim, because monks try to be much like the earth-bound angel; they sing, they have vows of chastity, they are poor, serve god, etc. This individual would have powers he believes ordaned by god, because he precieves they are a gift for he is a saint. He's not demented, nor zealotous, simply accepting. And then I was thinking how this…

This is something that's come up a couple of times in games I've been in, and I'm curious what other people do. Moreso than in other games, Champions games have 'lines' ... standards of moral/ethical behavior that characters are expected to not cross. The most obvious one is the 'No Killing, CVK or not' line. I'm wondering what you guys do when someone crosses that line. Do you simply stop them, saying as I did once, 'No, that's not kosher' and deny them the action, or do you let them go through with it and get in In-Character (IC) trouble? I'm torn between letting the PCs have free will with their characters, and knowing that someone could take my NPCs reactions…

I'm running a Champions scenario this coming Saturday in which a villian fires a large missile at the Reniassance Building. I'd like to give the heroes the option of actually stopping the missile by flying up to it an using their strength to halt it's movement. I'm using the rules on pages 238-239 of the Hero 5th Edition, but I'm having some trouble determining the speed and strength of the missile. Could you guys give me your thoughts on this? The missile is being fired from a 4 SPD aircraft. The missile is megascale, so the craft will be quite a distance away from the target building when it is fired. Normally, the attack should strike in the same phase as it was f…

After running a 350 campaign last year, the group I play with came to the consensus that we didn't like the power level. It just seemed that the diversity spread so wide, that everybody wound up being able to do just about everything and the interdependance on other team members just wasn't there. It may have just been the way the characters were designed, but it left us feeling somewhat disatified. I think were going for a 275-300 with a 125 point base next time around. How does everybody else like the standard 350 campaign?

I'm thinking of bringing back Professor Muerte as nuisance for Eurostar. Unfortunately, he's dead. Obviously I need a way for him to not be dead. Does anyone have any good ideas? I think that he would work well as a shadowy figure whose identity would come as a nasty shock when it is revealed... Alan

Greetings, I am suffering from a problem, and hope that one of you can give me some advice. Here is the situation. Though I have been playing RPG's for many, many years, in the last couple of them work, school, and circumstance have kept me from playing. I (like many) am a bibliophile, and I have always been someone to buy new games, and supplements whenever I can, and I love to pass my idle hours away working on material for various campaigns I intend to run "one of these days." So, recently I find myself in a position to run a game of Champions, and I have worked up a game setting with all sorts of details and NPC's, but when we play I find that the old inspiratio…
