I'm wanting to build an unkillable characters. (yea, i know.) He is basically a 250 point character.. with some skills and talents.. mostly normal stats. and all defensive powers. He can get hurt. but regens fast.. and even if his head is cut off, he comes back. Any ideas on cool ways to pull this off? Thanks. Todd

I was reading the posting for the job position and after talking myself down started wondering about InDesign 2.0. So I downloaded the trial. Attached is a PDF file, first thing I've ever made in InDesign. It's a handout I'll use with my players as part of the introduction. Not bad for a beginner. Tell me what you think. Feel free to swing away if you don't like it. (I think the purple/blue maybe a poor choice, but I didn't like the other colors I tried.) It's in PDF "acrobat" format. Here it is

Help With a Concept Side Effect

Okay, AniMae is the living incarnation of an animae character, with all the appropriate powers and abilities. However, a side effect of her being basically a living cartoon is that everything below a certain mass that she touches or carries "becomes" a cartoon until she stops touching it or puts it down. For example, hand her something and while she's carrying it the item looks like a cartoon. Shake hands with her and for the split second your touching, you look like a cartoon. So... how would one build this "power"? Or should we just call it special effects and go home?

This is an old problem of mine, but it still lingers in many ways. This is from my perspective as a player, rather than a GM. The following things seem to be true: 1. If my character is even remotely qualified, my character is the team leader. 2. If my character is not qualified to be team leader, there simply isn't one. Does this happen to anybody else? It got so bad at one point I actually played remarkably slow, stupid brick type just to officially declare 'I AM NOT IN CHARGE HERE!'. Hi. I'm creating a team of pregenerated heroes for a 4-color initiation game i should run soon. The team, "the Village Warriors" are basically superpowered versions of the Village People (i took the idea in a picture of DC's "Kingdom comes"; once again, Alan Moore is my god) The characters are based on 125pts+125 disadv. This is from a campaign a friend is playing in. 350 points, custom gameworld, Bronze Age milieu. They had, at one point, beaten the tar out of their principal villain team; only the leader, Baron von Hellebore, escaped arrest. The next time, he was back with a new crew. A classic thug-brick, a manic, frazzled lightning-slinger, a power-armor type called Battle Beetle (appeared to be a man in a huge bug-shaped battlesuit, but was actually a huge bug in a form-fitting battlesuit)...and Waif. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that Multipower and Elemental control are over-used. I guess I don't mind multipower as much if it's a utility belt, power armor, or something that can do multiple things (a gun w/ grenade launcher and bullets), but both Sapphire an Witchcraft have one. I REALLY don't like Elemental controls... In my personal opionion just because your guy has related (maybe elemental) powers, he shouldn't get a point break. Why shoudl I allow a point break for the Human Torch but not the Punisher or Spiderman? Someone with a solid character concept that doesn't use say, Fire powers, is getting penalized even though his concept is s…

I haven't tried the new point totals out, but I did see the new "official" standard of Supers is 350 pts. vs. the old standard of 250. How's this work power-level wise? I would assume a starting character under the 350 is more powerful than the 250 (haven't playtested much of 5th edit. for Supers yet). Why the switch? I found 250 starting for a Champs. campaign to be good. I understand I can still do 250, I'm just curious if there was a deliberate decision and why...

I'm sure everyone's aware of the stir Mutans and Masterminds is making. Heck, I've played Champions since about 10-12 years ago, not playing anythign other than HERO since being exposed to HERO, and even I picked up M&M. I think what made ME buy it was the art/layout/production. It's a pretty small book under 200 pages, but it cost $30-$35 retail (I got it off of amazon for less, but still) which in my opinion is pricey for something like that, but it's a very pretty book to look at, and makes it more "fun" to read it. It made me want to buy the game. It's like the art/production made the game draw me in more. It brought back a spark of when I was a kid buy…

Our superheroic campaign has lasted about 15 years all together (with some months and a year here or there off). Having started playing using Champions 3 -- and not reading it correctly -- we ended up with some PC's that are beyond superheroic. Felix, created in about 1989, has a 40 DEX with +7 Combat Skill Levels on his Martial Arts. His highest OCV is 33, which is the highest in the group, but all of the other "old guys" have 29 to 32 for high OCV's. The "younger" PC's have about 24 to 28 as highs. Technically, this isn't a problem, since the GM can just pile on the DEX and CSL's as needed. My problem is that, as I understand the system, those scores are j…

A quick question I need to ask about a character (in fact, this character right here!) ... Crosshair has a Gadget Pool, generally used for guns. Suppose I want to hike around with two identical guns at the same time. I recall (though for some reason I can't find it, argh!) that you can simply pay +5 points for a duplicate of the same piece of equipment as a character now (like you can for redundant vehicle/base devices). Would I just stick that in the VPP? For example, my favorite gun: Magnetic Carbine: 8d6 EB, Armor Piercing, Stun Only, 2clips of 6 charges, OAF Carbine (24 points) is in there. I want to make a character that is essentially what everyone's idea of an angel is. I've given him some healing, and some aid to pres in an area of affect (always on, pers, etc) Does anyone have any ideas on the types of abilities a classic 'Angel' type figure would have? Thanks.

Just curious, has anyone ever tried scaling experience awards to the campaign point level? For example, in an old survey, most respondents said they awarded about 2.5 xp per session--this for a 250 point type campaign. Technically, that's about 1 percent growth per session. But for a 150 point Fantasy or SuperAgent game, that would be about 1.5 percent. For the new standard, 350, it's about .625 percent growth. And for the upcoming Galactic Champions campaign, rumored to be up to 1000 points, 2.5 xp would work out to .25 percent--it would take 400 sessions for characters to double their point totals. So all this recent talk about demographics got me thinking, what would the world look like demographic wise? So I came up with a simple calculation. The base was 1 super per million population I then multiplied this by GDP(in $US)/10000. This gave provided a focus of supers in industrialized nations. All in all I'm pretty happy with the numbers and distribution, so I figured I'ld post it here for comments. What do you all think?
