I don't know if any of you remember NSG's excellent Wheel of Time martial arts forms (a search for Wheel of Time should bring them up), but I was thinking of creating something similar for a pbem game I'm running. Below is the martial maneuvers available to the character in question in games mechanics terms, what I'm looking for is descriptive 'forms' that she can use in character for descriptive purposes. So instead of using a punch w/levels in OCV, she can unleash the 'Flower Greets the Dawn' form upon her opponent. I'm working on the Hyborean Gazeteer for Mongoose Games. It is a follow up product to their Conan d20 rpg. Since Paul, my art director at Mongoose, and I are both big Hero fans... we thought we would share with y'all. I had to to do the very difficult job of drawing Conan as king... y'know, old, but not. Civilized, but not. Battered, but not down. I look forward to some FH conversions down the line when the Conan stuff really gets going. Btw, has anyone checked out Dark Horses new Conan? Looks awesome from what I've seen from their website.... I go to the comic store about 1 time a month... so I haven't seen it close up.

I'm trying to come up with a magic item that will allow the user to remember small details of events that have happened to them. Would you build it with Eidetic memory or Retrocog? I'm just starting to think about this, so any imput would be great.

Ok, I know the idea of a modern age compaign is nothing new. I just started trying to put together some ideas for a compaign and began to realize I am soon going to have an entire group of magic users on my hands. While I do not want to limit character choices, I do want to prevent my gaming group from taking over the world in short period of time. So here is what I have so far.... WE played in a game a few years ago and we used a multipower for elves that allowed them to adapt to different environments. It was a 10 point multipower, with each slot costing one. The pool cost 3 character points. An example would be Swimming +4", +1 Stealth, 30 END Battery with a 1 Rec only for swimming, or Forest +2" run, +1 AK Forest, +1 Hearing, +1 w/stealth,track, climb. I have a player who wants to create a spell/ability that allows him to know what is around him. I figured a detect bought as a sense would fi tthe basic idea. His thought was the 10 point detect physical objects with discrimatory and range. What he wants to do is for example touch the water and ask whats over there in the fog, and know that there is a boat over there. Disclaimer: I play 4th ed, so maybe 5th addressed this or something. Aight, Ive noticed that there is no real mechanic in 4th ed FH that limits mages from wearing armor. I honestly dont mind mages wearing light armor, but heavy armor seems silly. There would be NO reason not to play a mage-type if they can use all the weapons and armor of a warrior type, yet have the ability to summon or dispel, etc. I want to make the DEF of the armor worn as the penalty to the Magic Skill roll. Like a DEF 2 armor would hit the caster with a -2 to the roll. Since most magic has side effects, this is risky. If Hit Location is being used, I want the rule to be take the worst pena…

Alrighty, the number of Hero Games Fantasy Websites is pathetic. I know of several that are not listed so my question is what is stopping people from having DOJ list them? I also think we should create a list here so that we have something to reference. Opinons? I have a general fantasy homebrew website that uses Hero and some d20 stuff - including the Wheel of Time on my website but no Hero specific rules just yet. What do people want to see in Fantasy Hero Websites?

I have just started my own FH campaign and I am running into some problems with armor. In my simple worldview, armor should be hard to move around in, it makes you easier to hit, but difficult to damage. I know there are plenty of house rules dealing with this issue, as armor with no penalties is far too powerful. I would appreciate any hints on introducing some penalties that won't upset my players (too much).

Has anyone run a FH game based in H.P. Lovecraft's Dreamlands? It seems to me to be a perfect setting for a Crossworlds Fantasy game. Characters could either be citizens of the Dreamlands, dreamers, or from this world using one of the portals to crossover. Lots of exoctic locations and creatures, and plenty of space to develop new locations. Heck you could even travel to the moon or saturn. So, anyone ever run this?

I was reading in some other posts and one idea metioned but not clarified was the use of Entangles as a defense. Bought with Does not Entangle(-0), and Self only (-1/2). I like the idea but how would it play out? Has any one done this before? I have always wanted to have my mages cast a protective shell spell around themselves but which can be torn down with alot of blows, and play out the cracks in their shields, which if they recast the spell would shore it up again. I think this Entangle idea could work but not sure how to exactly use the idea.

Killershrike or anybody else good with modifying HDv2 I would like for my Fantasy Hero Game to put together prefabbed armors that reflect not only the armor value, but the penalties involved. For Example: Chain Mail Armor 6/6 -2 DCV -2 penalty skill on dex based abilities -1" Running The problem with trying to do this as say a compound power or even prefab list is that HD doesnt support negative skill levels or running under powers/equipment. Any ideas on an easy way of doing so?

Hi folks! In our group the amount of time playing fights is a recurring problem. As noted in the new Fantasy HERO Mr. Long prosposes ignoring STUN completely. This would speed up combat but what experience do you have doing so? One of the PCs is a weaponless fighting martial artist from a small island far in the sea and I'm not sure about turning hist fists and feet into HKAs. The other thing is one PC has got the talent combat luck, providing him with 3 rPD and has now turned to wearing plate armor... therefore killing damage must be high scaled to be able hurting him (DEF = 11 altogether) and the rest of the group has pretty low defenses... thanx for …
