Inspired by the recent conversations about in-universe fictional replacements, I got curious about how the in-universe "real" members of the Champions changed over time in the 5e/6e Champions Universe and started digging. Im admittedly mixing two different editions here, but they are fairly compatible lore wise, with just a bit of weirdness around Nightwind. Champions Complete (among other sources) indicates that Defender founded the Champions in 2001 and the team quickly became: Defender Sapphire Nighthawk IronClad Witchcraft AKA: The Classic Lineup Millennium City mentions that they frequently team up with Doctor Si…

Yes, I'm asking for help tracking down a CU datum. Please get your mockery out of the way up front... 😔 I know I've read the story of how the classic 4E superhero, Seeker, became a fictional replacement for Nighthawk in the licensed "Champions comic series" within the official 5E/6E CU, because Nighthawk who was a member of the Champions team at the time, refused permission to use his name and image. But for the life of me I can't find the published print source of the story. Anyone remember where it is? My status as CU oracle hangs in the balance. 🙏

Let's say a superhuman has lots of cash. Whether from criminal enterprise or created via superpowers it matters not. What does matter is that cash only goes so far. Large purchases have the sort of bureaucratic oversight that looks askance at duffel bags of $20s, and a bag of money won't even get you shovelware in an online store. There needs to be a way to turn those Jacksons and Benjamins into 0s and 1s. Fast, and in bulk. How does one go about doing that?

Like the major comic-book publishers, the current official Champions Universe has mostly followed the history of real Earth, aside from the impact of the presence of superhumans. That includes real-world political and social trends, and often analogues to actual public figures, although there are differences. At present the real United States of America is undergoing political and social turmoil, catalyzed around the sitting President, Donald Trump. He's become a major polarizing figure, with supporters applauding policies they believe are necessary and overdue, while his detractors accuse him of attacking American values and even laying the ground work for fa…

Hello Herodom! Im working on a one shot when I’ll be able to get together with my friends. I’ve been itching to use the Red Banner cause decades ago when I first bought Ninja Hero I ran a Wild Martial Arts game. So I’m asking to see if anyone has used the Red Banner and any plots you used? And to flesh out said plot. I just want to run a game that isn’t a tournament. I’m thinking the Red Banner is kidnapping Super martial artists so they can steal their Chi to empower one of their own. (FWIW, I have I believe all the martial art related sourcebooks from 4th through 6th and the 2 PDFs online. I just need to put it to use.) As always TIA, …

For those interested I found the Champions New Millennium files for Champions 4th and put them up in the downloads under Misc. These are all the htm files that used to be on the old website and covers CNM, Alliances, and Bay City. I'm not sure if anyone has, I may try converting them to 6th edition. My Hero Designer project has me blocked right now.

We know about the infamous Class of '03 (and why bullying should never be dismissed), and the classes of '06 through '10 are detailed in Teen Champions and News of the World, but what about the two years in between? They get any detail anywhere, or are they free characters for the GM (or writer)?

So major character in my last campeign, who is also going to be very important to a number of my Hall of Champions project is the Fox The Fox is, at his core, an homage to three classic unpowered heroes Zorro, Phantom, and Batman. There might be a bit of Katana in there as well, So this is what I came up with for a costume but would love a critique. I really want those three characters to come through without being a pure rip off of....

Im very new to the champions system and ive been going deep into CC but i ran into a bit of a problem while making my character. Im making a super with the ability to create Hard Light constructs like green lantern, no flight or anything of the sort tho. I ran into trouble trying to create a power that works as a sort of "Creates Hard light platforms to be able to go up in the air or avoid rough terrain", kinda like Gwen tennyson in Ben 10 alien force, Any ideas on how i can make a power like that? Also, any idea of what kind of limitation i could use to signify "requires visible light" thanks!!

Happy New Year everyone! I have started to slowly gather up 6th edition books and have started to look through them. I have noticed there were a lot more changes from 5th to 6th than I original thought. But I found something on Pantera's (Eurostar) character sheet in Villains 2 that I cannot make sense of and was hoping someone might help me figure out what I am missing, or if this was a typo. I am including some stats for sake of clarification, I hope this is not a violation of terms or copyright to do so. Pantera has STR 30 and HKA 2d6 claws at 0 END. But the book says with STR the claws are 6d6 HKA. Now, the Questions.... 1 - My und…

Does the Champions Universe have an analog for DC's Darkseid? I perused through my books and didn't see anyone that seemed to fit.

Assume you're running a City-Based campaign of superheroes. JLA or Avengers would be appropriate analogies... These things are true: 1) The group is government sanctioned and their bylaws make them adjunct members of PRIMUS (or your standard national government agency that deals with meta stuff) 2) The Earth was recently invaded by aliens leading to tens of millions of innocent deaths 3) The solution the heroes of Earth came up with was to shunt the Earth and the Mood to the Microverse (don't worry about details - this game thread took a very long time) and the result was the successful emancipation of the plant after grave losses. 4) other standard su…

Who puts these out? I'm wondering because I want to suggest a name change. SIDS stands for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and it's a real mood killer every time I see that pop up in the feed.

Working on a "Invasion of the body snatcher" type of thing. Basically a bug that transforms people into a drone type thing, granting powers but also taking over the mind in a way makes them obedient to an overmind type of thing Would this be a spiritual or mental transform (Plus the physical one for the OIHID powers)

Hey Guys and gals, Just recently I've been watching the PreCure Series and was wondering one thing: in a world full of superheroes and heroines would there be an Magical Girl team co existing in the Champions UNiverse? If so how would they react to the magic war raging around them and how would the magic girls react to supervillians and vigilantes? Well Friends and neighbors, Here's the Phantom's Challenge to all you Champions GMs out there: Create a Magic Girl or Mystic teen in training for your Champions Campaign and intro them into the CU history timeline or better yet design one to compete or work with the Court Of Dreams campaign. Send in a Pic along with a backgroun…

I was wondering lately whatever happened to Husband and Wife team Panda and Raccoon? They were among my favourite of the anti-hero types, also does anyone have a 6th edition write up for them?

So, in the Champions World, the last few weeks have seen the sudden appearance and equally sudden disappearance of monoliths in various places in the world--Southern Utah, Romania, Morocco, New Zealand, and many, many others. What's the story with all these monoliths? What do they mean? Who is responsible for their appearances, and for their disappearances? And what are our heroes to do about it?

My name is Miles Noren, I am a college professor at Balding-Wheeler University where I teach music. And I believe I am going out of my damn mind. I am wide awake, and yet I am dreaming. Classical orchestrations, and Broadway tunes accompany visions both spectacular and nightmarish, mostly of my fellow staff, and students! But also of the ones behind it. I wipe the sweat from my brow, I have a fever. I see a savior, and butcher and liberator and tyrant looming over it all, Kinematik? Yes, that's his name. The 1812 Overture begins as he fills my mind, as he sows the seeds along the campus and waters them. The music switches to 'Be Prepared' from Di…

With the death of Green Ronin's boards (including Atomic Think Tank) and the removal of old threads here, is there anyone that knows of or can provide guidance on converting early M&M to Champions? I went digging through the archives as best I could, and mostly turned up 404 Not Found and missing threads. I'm primarily interested in M&M 1e to HERO 5e, but it would be almost as easy to use conversions for M&M 2e or HERO 4e or 6e.
