Assume you wanted to add an extra hundred experience points to each Champion, to put them in the "High Powered Super Hero" range of 450. Where would you put it for each? Obviously we can't post full sheets (as we want folks to buy the Champions book) but we could at least post where those hundred points would go. What would we buy off, what would we boost up, etc? This was already discussed briefly in the past on http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2629 but not to a full hundred points worth. Some people seem to think that the Champions SHOULD be one of the premiere and most powerful teams in the CU, others disagree, …

It's time for another Champions Good Idea/Bad Idea... Good Idea: Having a powered armor suit, whether defined as OIF or OIHID. Bad Idea: Having no useful abilities outside of the suit. Worse Idea: Wearing nothing underneath but your skivies the one time the bad guys manage to strip it off you.

One of the PC heroes in my campaign recently crossed the line and killed a villain. I have been running the Demons Rule adventure, during which the heroes must battle real demons who are using teenage gang members as host bodies. After the first major battle with the Demons, one of the heroes becomes convinced that there will be no way for Stronghold to contain the defeated Demons. Not yet knowing that the Demons are using teenage gang members as host bodies, the hero decides that the only course of action is to kill the Demons. It took him several phases to kill the Demon, as he wanted to rip it's head off with his great strength. Let me tell you, he and the rest of the …

Nearly everyone in my group keeps getting on my case about using FW. I was in a campaign a few weeks ago, and out of 15 constructs (they were actually each based on 294 points, vs. 6 270ish PCs) and thanks to being able to take a few down to 1/8 Def with FW, I was able to take out quite a few of them with an RKA. Now we're starting a new campaign, and everyone is agaisn't FW saying it's to unbalancing. Some wanted to take it out of the game, the GM threatened to just give everyone a ton of lack of weakness. We finally settled on making it an attack power, so one you do it, your turn's over. Does anyone else have more experience with FW? Is it really unbalancing?…

I've got this idea for a character, but no name. Preamble to my idea: I was thinking while reading Robert Graves' "Greek Gods and Heroes" about avatar super-heroes. This is to say super-heroes whose powers stem from a particular deity. The most popular for most PCs are gods like Heracles, Athena, Ares, etc. But I started thinking about Hermes. God of stealth, theft, and deception a Hermetic avatar would also be adept at stopping stealth, theft, and deception as well. Hermes is also the god of boxing and wrestling which is what passed for martial arts back then. In a modern setting, I think it would be fair to say Hermes would be the god of unarmed combat or m…

I have a character who has a minor transform... As my character is Welsh fey, I want to do minor curses... but since it's a Champions game she's in, can anyone give me some hints as to some good curses and what game effects they would have in a Champions (not fantasy hero) game?

The Champions have always been examples of beginning characters, and their membership has changed repeatedly. They've lost many heroes over the years, they're hunted by everyone, and (judging from CKC and older enemies books) they foolishly hunt much more powerful individuals and teams. So, the question is simple: How did the missing Champions die? How will the current team go?

Hey Guys, I am starting a Champions game and I wanted to use some of the pictures of characters of Marvel, DC, Image, and other comic book companies as a basis for villians and NPC's in my game. I don't know a lot about the different comic book lines (I haven't read comics in 10 years). Can anyone recommend a good site to find pictures of comic books characters. Thanks, Jonathan

I've played Champions in it's various forms since the first edition hit the shelves. I have NO idea how to go about entering or playing a PBEM Champions game. I thoroughly enjoy a good story, and I love comics. Champions has always been the perfect game for me to explore. I would like to try a PBEM game, how do I go about it. Preferably, I would like to find one that uses the Hero System format (or something very close), and one that would allow for a flexible schedule. If any one has information that could be helpful, I would greatly appreciate it.

HI all, Looking at the main Champs rulebook, I found myself wondering about 'fad heroes' and their powers, especially if you updated them to the present. Just what amoounts to a 'fad' right now, and roughly what sort of powers would they have? (Keeping in mind that such heroes tend to be on the comical side...) For instance -- what would 'The Amazing Goth' be like?

One of my characters wants a Naked Power Advantage of Double Knockback with all HTH Attacks and wants to buy it in a Multi-Power Pool. I feel "iffy" about it and the book warns that it shouldn't NORMALLY be allowed. If anyone has had experience in this matter, your opinions would be very helpful in deciding. Thanks! ~ Zan

Oddhat recently requested membership to a team...got me thinking: If I wanted to make a character who was a piece of aperal (Such as Dr Fate's Helm) how do you go about it, it is an intriguing question, as the "Real" character is the foci, so if stupid villain puts it on all of a sudden you control the villain... How do you build it...

I have a question for the Campions playing community. I am going to be GMing a champions campaign for the first time. I've tried to develop a world with rules for starting characters to represent that the heroes are just beginning to go out and adventure. Their characters are based on 250 points with 100 points in Disadvantages, minimum of 15 points in skills, and a 50 Active point limit. One of the players was describing his character to me today (we start playing in a few days, hopefully) and one of his attacks worries me. Through the use of a Naked Power Advanatage and a Hand-To-Hand Attack he can do double knockback on 50 Active Points of damage (The equivilant t…

Does anyone know of a good place to get standups? I'm helping a friend GM his first campaign, and I've been able to find some templates for the hero characters, but does anyone know where I can get some civilian/police/agent/etc. standups? Thanks.

Anyone seen the anime Scryed? It's basically about people called "Alters", who have the ability to reshape mass into a construct to fight for them. (exceptions abound)... Of the two main characters, one can make a construct that fights with two ribbon-like blades. The other changes his arm to create an armor like construct over it for making super powered punches. And nearly all of them tend toward the "one trick pony" system of character creation. Or at least it seems. Anyone else? The Fool "They call me Kazuma, the Shell Bullet."

In the Super Hero Genre, a good chunk (probably even the majority) of Supers have secret identities... and day jobs. Are there any you folks tend to take more than others? Why? I've seen some players who seem to go for businessman every time. Another I know has about 80% of her characters as students in either High school or college. So, just how many mild mannered reporters, playboy millionares, and government liasons do you folks have your stables de character?

I am a player in a marvel game, My character had gone to break into an office for some info, leaving a couple captured villains in the hands of his team mates. My team mates then took the two captured villains (still KOed) to the leader of the Morlocks who GLEEFULY put a bullet in there heads (They were a couple of the ones who led the masacure so it made sense) NONE of the other players had a problem with it, not one of there characters tried to stop it, not one. When I made a comment about "Why didn't you help them out" one answer with "It looked like she had it under control" ERRR
