I’ve recently been working on putting together a superhero campaign based on the Shrinking powerset and was wondering if any groups or individuals in the CU study shrinking or the Microverse. Other than Shrinker, are there any characters who have an “Enter The Microverse” sort of ability?

Ok so my heroes also need names lol plus another villain 1: Ashley: hero powers:can turn into a half wolf or full wolf, has amber eyes, her human form is uncomfortable for her but she has to use it. Streetsmart. Not good with technology. Can get pretty angry Mentally sound (thank god) Hates Avi (they fight eachother) 2: Ivan:hero: was in a bombing gon horribly wrong so is mostly mechanical and hides it with long pants, a hoodie and his hair. Pretty chill. Has a robotic heart, realist. Smart with tech. Not quite as good as Avi though. Slightly crazy but mostly mentally stable. Has one normal green eye then a robotic blue eye he covers with his hair. He…

Aaron Allston commented in his Strike Force book that his players were not working as a team but a bunch of individuals who happened to be working together. So he introduced a team made up of NPC that were built on 50 - 75 pts lower than the players, but who used code words and team tactics and covered for each other. Then he let them loose on his players and they got trounced. BUT they did learn the lesson and next time the PCs won. SO.. What is your "teaching team"? The group you made to make the PCs finally gel!

Specifically, I'm speaking of the patrons of Astralle (Champions Villains 2; p.182-185). Are they greater demons (Bestiary; p.72, 77) or demon princes (Bestiary, p.90-97)? Or something else? And yes, I want something more substantial than "whatever you need for your game." : p

I'm retiring my Champions/Hero System to focus more on other projects and want to pass on my Hero System 5th Edition book, Champions campaign materials, and figures to another fan rather than recycle them. Please send me a private message if you'd like to have them for your collection and we'll go from there in mailing them out to you. Thanks! 😀

Was going over my digital copy of TPP Villain Companion 2 and the entry for EF-1 (Extreme Force-1). Knowing that the sister group TF-1 contains Piledriver a d Sledge (Tiger's version of these characters) got me thinking about a third group to reintroduce old Champion villains. Of course not all the members should be Champions old timers, but enough of them should be. The requirements for this group: all members wield weapons of some kind. EF-1 is about elemental powers. TF-1 is about missing limbs. WF-1 is about special weapons. My short list of members... 1) Red Rapier: He represents the sword. He is still probably a shameless ladies …

Whenever I read over my Champions source books, I'm struck by the range of activities ARGENT is involved in around the world -- how many pies it has its fingers in, and how viciously it digs into them. But from comments I've heard over the years, most Champions players who don't have those books don't fully appreciate what ARGENT is capable of, nor the range of uses it can be put to for character origins and backstory. In part this is due to there being no source book dedicated to that malevolent corporation. Hero Games did plan to publish one, but the severe downsizing the company went through several years ago curtailed that plan for the foreseeable future. There's actu…

I've got a few more ideas that will probably never get used by me because my TT game days are over, but I'm still brainstorming so I thought I'd spill this out there and see what others thought was doable and which THEY thought would be most fun/interesting. I got stuck on the theme of 'a new start to a new super life'. Take a look, go to the poll, and pick your favorite. If you want to be extra kind, also post here why you liked which ever most or even rank them! Much appreciated. The Price of Dreams (Teen Champions)- Maybe you came to the USA's southern border from Honduras after a harrowing trip through Mexico with your family. Maybe your father sided with…

Another poster expressed interest in seeing the plans for Wetchley House, the base acquired by the PCs in my first playtest campaign for Ultimate Supermage. Fortunately, I still have them as files, so you don't have to look at scans from my crappy scanner. Well, except for the picture of the house. This was a 4th ed campaign, so the plans are hex-mapped. The house isn't big. I don't remember the exact book from which I adapted the plans, but there are scads of books out there such as Victorian House Plans, Classic House Plans, etc. Then I traced and spliced together bits of drawings of those houses, with a little freehanding to fill in the gaps, an…

Nanogirl is a humanoid alien; she normally stands 10-12 cm (~4") tall. After arriving on Earth, she discovered (read: stole) a device that allows her to grow to normal human size for a time. She can be either small or human-sized, nowhere in between. How would you build this? My thoughts: 1) Build her using the Miniscule size template, then buy a limited form of Growth to allow her to get bigger. 2) Buy the appropriate levels of Shrinking to 0 END and Persistent and handwave the smaller state as the default. 3) Build her as a Multiform, one form for each size. 4) Some other brilliant option I haven't thought of y…

Theme Teams

Most superhero teams seem to be a mishmash of origins and themes. You have the space alien brick, the young goddess martial artist, the wielder of an ancient weapon of power, etc. Has anyone ever run or participated in a more unified theme team campaign? Like an all-brick mutant team or everyone is a powered armor type. How did it work out?

Here are write-ups for various Marvel characters in 6th Edition where the characters are in Microsoft Word format for easy printing and/or editing. Some of the files only have the Hero Designer File. The asterisk * indicates that only the Hero Designer File is included. Hello, Has anyone ever run The Confluence War scenario from the Mystic Masters sourcebook? I have been running a mystic masters campaign intertwined with my superhero campaign since 2005, and I'm preparing to bring it to a close (of sorts), and was looking to use The Confluence War as the final scenario for that campaign. The PCs are all students of the Revered Elder, and have had many adventures as his pupils, so it seems like a good choice of an adventure to end on, saving the multiverse and all that. I had read in Allen Varney's campaign notes on his own Mystic Masters campaign (of which he used to write the sourcebook of the same name) he had the Revered Elder sa…

The question is: whether you support the Justice Warriors or the Power Brotherhood, the other team are awful. How do you represent this? Are they Rivals, or Hunteds? Either way, the (S)JWs and the Power Bros have an ideological difference that could well result in violence. Keep the politics nice, obviously.

It's hard for me to believe I'm saying this but come this June, our campaign will be 40 years old, along with the 40th Anniversary of the game Champions. It's actually mind-boggling to me, that any campaign could be that long. The campaign is older than my friend's marriage as well as some people in the campaign. I'm planning on buying some plastic award medals that you can put your own emblem inside of and giving them out in June. By the way, this is the same continuous campaign - never stopped or retconned. It's gone through changes over the decades and has seen players & characters come and go, but the core players are still playing some of the same characters that…

I've done little to no character building in 6th for a 400 point superhero. But I've had in mind doing a updated riff on a cybernetic bioengineered quasi-hero from a dystopian future so I'm combining . A bit more Shadowrun than the original Six Million Dollar Man, Deathlok, Cable, or a host of other heroic bionic characters from books, movies, or TV still in much the same spirit. A deliberate attempted brain wipe of the memory but not the skills before the installation of a cybernetic brain which drives most of the body's systems. The two time jumps to bring her to our present muddled her cybernet while bringing back parts of the original personality. So part…

I was just looking at the fifth edtion stuff and was wondering if any new Organization books were planned for the future (Primus, UNTIL, Viper, Demon)? Also, are there conversion rules for 5th to 6th? If so, where can I find them?

I've always had a liking for the Starburst character. To me he was what I think many of us would be like if we had superpowers--he'd go out, fight crime and Be A Hero , but it also seemed like he was having fun with it, that he got a kick out of having superpowers. And while I believe we can all agree that having superpowers can be fun, it's using them to do the right thing that can make life really tough, if not downright painful--as I've tried to illustrate here. Anyway, I present this Character Update as a tribute to 4th Edition Champions, and to one of the iconic heroes of the Champions Universe I'd like to think that if Starburst had ever got an official update …

ALCON, I don't have my Big Blue any more - but if I recall correctly aren't Crusader and Starburst in the back as example MA & EB? If so does anyone have a copy of mechanics or 6e conversions for them? I know - why bother right? I'm just going through an old school plot I was in way back in the day and I wanted to include these two. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave

I have most of the 6E books now and I have looked around, but I can't find her. She was in every edition (Even 5th). So why did she not make the threshhold into 6E? or am I looking in the wrong place?
