My character has a vehicle that I want to build a remote control to be able to give the vehicle's computer commands to run programs. Would it be better to buy mind link through a focus on my utility belt, or would I have to buy computer link. And do I have to buy the same thing for my vehicle's computer for it to work? Or is my character having it enough. Thanks.

Ok, inspired by another thread I am working on "Flamethrower Boy (Who can also turn into a Mountain Lion)" I am doing the flamethrower as a multipower with an END reserve. Here is what I have so far. Flamethrower 11 - END Reserve 200 END, REC 2 (OAF Flamethrower). 30 - Multipower 60 point reserve (OAF Flamethrower) 3u - Concentrated blast - 3d6 RKA (Area effect one hex + 1/2. adjacent hex only -1/4) 3u - Straight blast - 2 1/2d6 RKA (Area effect line +1, no range -1/2) 3u - Fan pattern - 2 1/2d6 RKA (area effect cone +1, no range -1/2) 3u - 44" flight (-1/2 concentrate throughout, 1/2 DCV) Ok, all the attacks should inherently be "no range"…

Ok, another thread got me thinking about this. And instead of saying what I think or fear would happen with the law as it concerns the superpowered, I am starting this thread to discuss and get feedback on what people think should happen with the law as far as superpowers are concerned. I am going to list every power, and give a brief rundown on what legal limitations should apply to the use of it. I'm not saying how the authorities would catch anyone at them, but if the person is somehow caught... Powers subject to no legal constraints, as they have no great impact on anyone but the possessor : Absorbtion Armor Characteristics Damage Reduction Da…

Two of the Global Guardians campaigns need players to fill vacant spots. Specifically, Guardians Team 1 needs three people, and Guardians Team 2 needs one person. The Guardians teams are intended to be the best of the best of the world's superhuman crimefighters. These are the Justice Leaguers and the Avengers of the Guardians Universe. If you are interested in applying, please send character sheets and backgrounds to jack@globalguardians.com. I'll take submissions in Microsoft Word, plain text, and Hero Designer files (although I'd appreciate it if the Hero Designer files were accompanied by a text file containing just the character's background). All submi…

The best-selling expose, Living On The Mouth Of Hell, is written by a Sunnyvale High alumnus and former school newspaper editor. The Republican National Convention is attacked by a horde of zombies, while the world watches via live satellite feed. A woman quits her job with a psychic hotline company, drops her fake Jamaican accent, and wins 9 straight lottery jackpots in a row. President Bush claims he was psionically possessed for the last ten years and denies responsibility for his actions- says he never even wanted to be President. Magic, psi, aliens, whatever... it's hard to suspend disbelief of the inhuman competence necessary to keep these kinds of things known…

I have a PC who through a quasi-mystical 'radiation accident', has become the 'Lord of Staves', the World's archetypical stick fighter. In a pick up game the other night, I threw the 'Lord of Edges' against him, a character I sort of just came up with. After thinking about it, I thought it would be cool to have a sort of Highlander-ish cabal of beings who were the masters of a weapon whose advent changed the course of human history. They would all try to kill each other to gain the other's mastery. So I've come up with the following: 'The Lord of Fists', 'The Lord of Staves', 'The Lord of Edges', 'The Lord of Arrows' & 'The Lord of Guns'. My question to the p…

The owner of Ye Local Game Shoppe has asked me if I would want to run a Champions game for their Saturday game night and I'm actually thinking of saying yes. Now since there's a fairly good chance we could get a decent group together at the shop I only have two issues left to resolve. 1-Chances are none of them have played HERO before 2-I've never played HERO before I figure you have to start somewhere and it's not like I have any shortage of gaming experience (21 years and counting), so I'm not worried about the common GM's mistakes or anything like that. What sorts of pitfalls can I expect to fall into that might not be immediately obvious to someone who …

I just watched Justice League Unlimited on Tivo. In the episode, Batman's plane is destroyed and he is forced to eject. While plummeting to the earth he radios his team in a deadpan voice: "Batman to all points: I could use some air support, since I can't fly...at all.... now would be good." This scene had me absolute rolling because when I first started playing Champions I played a martial artist. He had some crazy dex and was virtually impossible to hit. Whenever the GM got frustrated, some how the martial artist would find himself thrown off a building, in a plane that was blowing up, etc. It felt like he spent half of his time accelerating towards the…

Do you think there's room within the Champions setting for a Super Group that uses lethal force against villains to operate on a worldwide level? Or would they get shut down by other hero teams?

This is the official thread for the Jet City Champions Campaign. Jet City Champions is a Thursday night table-top game hosted at Arcane Comics in Seattle, WA. The GM is Ken Adams (jackalope), and the players are TBA. This is a Four Color Campaign, with Standard starting characters built on 200 points plus 150 points in Disadvantages at Standard power levels. Jet City Champions takes place in an alternate version of the Champions Universe. Campaign Introduction: It's been twelve years now since the Battle in Seattle, when Doctor Destroyer raged through the city and razed much of it to the ground. The city had no superheroes at the time, PRIMUS had seen …

I'm trying to generate interest in a Champions game at my local FLAGS. I'm thinking, since I'll soon be getting my grubby little hands on Island of Dr. Destroyer, that I can run this mod as a one-off at my local game store on a Sunday afternoon. I'm thinking I can allow players to create their own PCs and allow new players to use published PCs (The Champions, Meteorman, Stalwart, etc.). Maybe even use the published PCs as back-up characters after the first round of PC deaths. However, since I have neither GMed nor played Island of Dr. Destroyer (yes, I have been playing since Champs III and have never played that mod; I have ALSO never played the Giants, Slave…

Alternate CU Future Histories: A fair number of GMs and Players out there don’t like the idea of magic and Supers going away in the early 21st century. We all have our reasons, from distaste for meta-plots to disliking the idea of Aliens laughing at Earth’s super-tech when it starts to break down outside of high magic fields. So, what are your ideas for the future of the Champions Universe if the Magic doesn’t go away? One more request: Please include a couple of versions of each idea. I’ll label my suggestions Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Iron: Gold – Super-humans lead Humanity into a near-Utopian future. The Lensman books had something arguably lik…

Hi. Does anybody know how many Adventurer's Club issues were published? Also, what were some of your favorite things from AC? Both in general (teams, organizations, adventures) and specific (Stooge Fu, for instance).

I have a character with shriking that is only on or off... he has 6 levels and must either use 6 or 0, he cannot use in between. Limitation right? Which one though? Is there one published, and if not, how much should that limitation be worth?

Okay, as part of my ongoing "Western Champions Project" I have created a number of horses for the Champions of 1875. First is the noble beast of the Cavalier. He is by far the best rider in the bunch, as such his horse is by far the best horse of the bunch. You will notice that Saber does have the fewest inches in running, this is compensated by the high speed (almost double what most of the other horses have) Saber Player: Val Char Cost 30 STR 20 23 DEX 39 25 CON 30 12 BODY 4 13 INT 3 11 EGO 2 15/25 PRE 5 18 COM 4 10 PD 1 10 ED 2 5 SPD 17 11 REC 0 50 END 0 40 STUN 0 11" RUN105" SWIM37" LEAP1Characteris…

A completely un-serious team here. Help me out. The VaudeVillains Shecky (Ability to strike at the psyche of individuals through use of terrible one-liners; EGO Drain? Or maybe Time Manipulation powers, as he can make any time spent in his presence seem 10x as long; Probably a SPD drain?) Guru (Ability to fit into any area regardless of it's size; He folds himself up and gets into safes, holds breath indefinitely, climbs through vents. His act probably includes a high dive into a pale of water). The Human Computer (Knows all kinds of useless inane trivia; performs calculations in his head; Eidetic memory) - Likely the Team Mastermind. El Mysterio …
