Hey all, I was wondering if anyone had ever made 5th edition write-ups of Thunder and Lightning from Classic Enemies? I want to use them in my game sometime in the future but I seem to have lost my pdf copy of Classic Enemies. I remember Susano had some revised sheets on his website but he has taken them off since 5th edition. Could someone help me?

With the various writeups of the charatcers from The Incredibles that have been posted, I'm still waiting for Edna Mode, fashionista to the superheroes. Knowing her (or the character who is equivalent in your campaign) is a great advatnage for a superhero. Not only can she repair damage to your costume, but she can design a new one for you if the need arises (as long as you don't want a cape). And she has a virtually encyclopedic knowledge of superheroes, superpowers, and the like -- she knows enough about the effects of seemingly every imaginable superpower that she can quickly design suits that match the powers. Pity the poor supervillain who tries to kidnap Edna. …

Okay. This is a thread for people to post craazy comic book characters, and then let other people see if they can make a usable (or at least amusing) Champions character from them. (really, I need ~9 posts to break 1K. so bear with me.) First challenge is a Nazi and a Luddite - how could you not make an interesting character out of: Armless Tiger Man! Whoo-hoo! Post away! Or, just, you know, boggle at the zaniness.

You've read them. You've probably even written them. Now, let's hear 'em. Tell us the most over-used elements from a super-hero campaign background that you have personally witnessed. I'll start. 1. The first super-hero is from the pre-war period and is a patriotic flying brick modelled after Superman (who was not very patriotic back then, btw). 2. Super-heroes are given the bum's rush during the mid-50s McCarthy era. 3. Mutant registration acts.

Euro Star is bad news. Very bad. Eurostar also chiefly operates in Europe. They're a ruthless, powerful, effective group of super human psycho paths bent on uniting Europe the hard way under Fiacho... IIRC. It only makes sense that the various super heroes of Europe would oppose them. Much of Europe has big dreams of true cooperation and perhaps more under the European Union, so, do you think they'd assemble an organized group of super heroes from various European nations to stand against a super terrorist group that boasts how it "wrecks economies"? What would it be called (Using "Euroguard" but obviously other names might apply) How do you think it woul…

How many Superhumans do you have in your campaign that are homosexual or bisexual? Is it ever an issue in game? Personally, I've had quite a few lesbians but only three gayi males. One of them in a Dark Champions who had some severe issues with his orientation (He was in heavy denial and consumed with self loathing). The other was in a less gritty game and generally pretty comfortable with himself. The third was aggressively open about his sexuality, really "in your face" about it. I hope I haven't offended anyone with this question.

Admittedly 18 hours of American Chopper have influenced this, but man, that show is riveting! So, in a world of Supers, what do you guys think about this for a little additional Flavor...The Discovery Channel does a show about the guys who custom build Hero vehicles. Maybe it's a new Bike for Nighthawk, maybe it's an interview with the guys at Lockheed Martin who just made a new Helicopter for PRIMUS. Possibly a special called "When UNTIL goes to war." Highlighting the hi-tech toys and vehicles and mentioning their histories? Considering that we have specials about the latest in real world military tech (They just have certain things that are absolutely not allowed to…

I’m planning to run a game at a convention, assuming all goes well. The characters will be 350 point book legal supers, and no house rules will be used in the write ups themselves. The game will be for experienced Hero System players over 18. I’m planning on one four hour session with 6 scenes, with one or two optional scenes in case combat drags out. I’d like opinions on how complex the character write ups can be for this type of game. Would you prefer to GM or play characters with ECs over characters with MPs in a convention game? Are VPPs with a good sized list of effects going to work, or would you rather see MPs? In your experience, how do adult conve…

If your character ever sat down and played an RPG, what sort of character would they want to play? Would they play fantasy, sci-fi, or something else? On a side note, have you ever had characters play games within the game? I'm not talking RPG's necessarily, but even something like Chess or Risk.

I can't seem to find the thread regarding Player vs GM Workload, so I thought I'd pose this question here. Would you consider playing in a PBeM game given the following requirements, or would you think it too much work as a player? ************ The characters are all legacy heroes - they're either the children of (Infinity Inc., Spidergirl), inspired by (Spirit of 76, Steel), or successor to (Black Panther, Union Jack, the Flash) another, older hero or heroine. Not only would the player need to come up with their character, they would also need to come up a thumbnail description of their predecessor, and a small Rogues Gallery. And I had considered lett…

Okay, I have been for the last few days trying to come up with ideas for a cosmic level Speedster. Point totals are 450 +200. The name I have settled on is Blur, so I figure a ferw levels in DCV is a must (Probably with cost end to activate or something). I am leaning towards female, and probably flight based. Dex and speed I have at 45/10. I will probably use my version of Speed Fu as well...Otherwise what ideas can you all come up with that I can steal mercilessly?

Hey there, Just started a new champions game a couple of sessions ago. It is a teen heroes campaign set in 1963, at Stanford University. I plan on more or less setting it in the Champions U and I thought I would ask your assistance. I have a two things going for me in running this game. 1. I have been a teenager. 2. I have lived in Northern California before, I live Miami Florida now. Unfortunately I have some strikes against me. 1. I was born in 1963. 2. I have never been a student in a major university. 3. I have never been to Stanford.

Very soon I will be running Island of Dr. Destroyer as a one-off at my local game store. I will be using several hand-out characters (the Champions, the Incredibles and a few of my own) as well as allowing experienced gamers to build their own characters ahead of time. I have never run this mod before, just played it once a LONG time ago. I was wondering: 1) Does anyone have any fond memories from their time playing/GM'ing Island of Dr. Destroyer? and 2) Does anyone have any advice or recommendations for running/playing this old mod?

So how would you make his medicine bag? Effect: Anything he can think of for the most part, he can pull out of the Medicine bag. Advantages: It appears he makes a skill roll to realize he might have it in his bag and then just pulls it out and uses it. Little to no delay in most instances, seems to be able to change on the fly. Disadvantages: Usually he pulls out a focus that does what he needs it to do. Anyone looking into the bag who isn's a shaman or a strong mystic goes crazy. If you turn the bag inside out the world might implode. It can be taken away from him like any other bag. My first idea is just VPP with all the right advantages/limits.…

I have the Millenium City sourcebook on order, but I doubt it will arrive in time for my Wednesday game, and I could use a bit of information on Dr. Silverback. If this request is out of line, feel free to tell me so ... I don't want to violate anybody's copyright or anything. No hard feelings and all that. All I really need is a quick personality layout and his primary skills focus (I'm presuming he's a scientist of some sort), so I can fake playing him as the new heroes' contact into The Superhuman World until the MC book arrives on my doorstep.

Does your super team suffer from a decided lack of something? Perhaps... knowledge of magic, an able egoist, a team vehicle to get from place to place? List here the things that upon assmebling your team and playing a game or two, were noticable holes.

I love this idea, but I feel bad for starting the thread as I have nothing at this moment to contribute. Someone (Bob Greenwade?) mentioned that if HERO put out a book simply to impress him this might be that book. I think it's a good idea. Surely there are martial artists out there. Format: Let's keep these somewhat uniform Name of art People whom practice (Malvans, Monabi, etc) Development period (Champions, Terran Empire, Champions 3K, etc). The Challenge: Create Santa Claus / Father Christmas / Father Winter as a playable Champions character. You have 350 points to work with, and an active points cap of 120 on any one power. Adhere to the stories and myths as much as you can. The Prize: Um...Rep? So, let's see Santa Claus. Contest ends on Decenmber 31, or if, well, no one posts.

I just went to get a bottle of water. Yes, fascinating, I know, but there's more! I had just been posting here, so I was thinking of Champions/Superheroes, and a thought struck me. Let's say I am Bobby Drake (Iceman). I am walking down the street in civilian ID, when I spot a mugging in progress. I don't want to change to Iceman, too many people around, and my Martial Arts skills aren't that great, and could cause embarrassing questions too. What I need is a simple weapon, like a club. I remember I am carrying a full bottle of water. You know, if this thing were frozen, I could . . . You get the idea. Now I know that it is possible for character…
