More specifically, Could any ONE member of your superteam at least distract someone like Grond away from innocent bystandards until the rest of your team showed up. I bring up Grond since he is referred to as a baseline often and even was even updated in the Ultimate Brick. For a Very simple and early one shot adventure for a new group of gamers should Any member of the team be able to deal with an encounter with this big guy? The old Spidey vs. Firelord thread got me thinking about this topic. I am not suggesting that they be able to actually win a fight. Just make sure nobody dies at the scene of the encounter. Or, do most GM's here stay aw…

Bay City is one of my more long lived Champions game and a favorite of mine. Over the years, Bay City has incorporated material from comics, other super rpgs even other game lines such a Werewolf, Vampire and Changelings. Its also featured some of the strangest character I've ever had the pleasure of gming. They're adventures have spanned a few universes all without leaving the confines of Bay City for the most part. I thought I would post a few PCs and NPCs here for the entertainment of the board over the next several days.

In the spirit of the recent 'Quote of the Week', I've posted a short preamble from our MegaCity [Mysterymen-style] Campaign. One of our players (Night Watchman) couldn't play one week, so the GM planned to handwave him out of the plot. I felt he deserved a bit better treatment... (We open with the team busily renovating their own base - an abandoned Asian restaurant in Parkdale, T.O...) "No, you pebblehead, hold it like this!" Night Watchman grabbed the 4x8 sheet of drywall that Rebar was holding and attempted to yank it from his hands. That left Watchman holding a 2x2 piece of drywall, and Rebar holding two end bits. Which, in a slow-witted attem…

You read that correct. One of my players wants his cat as a DNPC. I'll allow it only if I can get a list possible ways that cat could come up as a DNPC. So, hit me with them... please.

Several years ago (I think 2001, but I may be off a year either direction), I went to GenCon and played in a game where Foxbat was the secret mastermind. Afterward, I was talking to the GM and several players, and someone talked about their rewrite of Harmonious Fist. I won't go into detail, but the rewrite was more in harmony with the character's name and, IMO, quite a cool idea. If anybody here is that person, or knows who that person might be, please let me know by email, private message, carrier pigeon, or any other way you prefer. Thanks.

Hiya Gang, I've been working on some city books for my Champions campaign and I was curious what people look for in a city setting book? Do you usually work on a ton of NPCs (from Joey the Paperboy to Mayor Smith) or do you usually just let them sit in the background? What about maps? Do you map your cities? How about corporations and landmarks?

A player came up with this concept and I think it's kind of neat so I'm thinking about how to make it work. So far my builds on this have been fairly costly (I don't have them in front of me or I'd post them). So I'm going to give you the effect and you tell me what you'd suggest... ------ The character is essentially a spirit. Each day when they appear to the super-team they show up looking like someone completely different. Basically they appear as the nearest freshly dead body, because they have taken over that vacant husk. But each day the body deteriorates enough that they have to inhabit a new one. Picture the characters getting their morning…

Just a vague concept (ok, not so vague) that I had. Dissect and enjoy! werewolves eat people and transmit by biting. So werevirginism would obviously be transmitted via sex. So, waking up after the greatest night of his life, our hero finds himself in bed with a 57 year old street person, cursed to become gawkish, shy and fmubly each night of the full moon. On the plus side, he's now largely invulnerable, superstrong, and much faster... as all werethings are. actually... werevigins could perhaps turn into beautiful young women on the full moon.... heh. now... what would our hero do with all this? hrm.... -or an incubus, i'm flexible hr…

My question to Steve "A character has shrinking that does not work in water... the other powers are linked to the shrinking, do they qualify to taking the does not work in water limitation as well, or is that just automatically assumed do to the fact that the primary power is not working at that point?" Steve's reply to me "See 5ER 300." Now, since I do not have 5ER yet, I could not see 5ER 300. Would one of you check that page for me and let me know what it says please? I am going to get 5ER, as soon as I can afford it, but that will not be for a month or two.

Disclaimer: Mitch... get out if know what is good for you and your characters. Hohoho! I have a Christmas Treat for You. Saturday, I'm running my Christmas Special episode. I have to do the write-ups but here is the basic premise. The undertone is dark because of some background points I need to get up. A little modification and you have yourself a full fledged Christmas special adventure. Background: Setting: A warehouse in the middle of Millennium City. The warehouse is storing Christmas Toys for orphans and needy children. You don't need to make it necessarily the Dr. Destroy orphans created in my last game. Especially if it is ma…

You awaken one morning to find the campaign city is unusually quite...too quite, infact. You soon discover that, except for you, everyone in the area- good, evil, or indifferent- has been transformed into a bobblehead doll. Even your teammates have been "bobble-ized." After an hour of searching the city streets for whoever or whatever is responsible, you encounter a guy wielding a strange looking ray device, wearing a helmet that resembles a giant bobblehead. Upon seeing you, he cackles and says, "Time to complete my collection..." Then he takes a shot at you with the ray device. WWYCD?

Greeting HEROdom, please I need your help. I need to locate Ambience Music??? Links are good, but please be specific as I am still unlearned on how to find and download stuff. Jungle sounds day & night - disturbing and alien to northerners (Think Tarzan, Land of the Lost, etc...) and (Animal roars, screams, etc...) Tribal war drums - the natives are restless (Again, think Tarzan, Land of the Lost, etc...) Waterfall - Niagra level with jungle background (A cliffhanger for real) Aztec/Maya/Toltec "Tribal Chants†or African "Tribal Chants†or Meso-amerindian "Tribal Chants†Please and thank you QM

SPOILER FREE ZONE Allen Thomas rocks. This is a great book, and a great asset to your campaign if you have any interest at all in including Magic and mad cults in your game world. The section on recruitment is great fun, the many types of demon agents and morbanes offer a terrific source of NPCs and minor villains (and have great potential for character origins), and both the quality of the writing and art are consistently high. A very good buy. More to come later, including nit-pics. If anyone else would like to chime in, please do.

What disadvantages would you give a character who was a robot? Specifically. One who looks human and is secretly a robot. One who looks human and is publically a robot. One that does not look human. Assume a normal champions game.

A bit of a weird topic I suppose, but my mind is meandering anyways... One of the common 'orgins' is a sudden change in not just powers, but characterestics and appearance. This often seems double for Champions and other super RPGs, where there is a tendency to have your scientist with reflexes faster than his lifestyle would indicate ("Hey, suddenly I have a speed 5 to go with these laswer bolts!"), "Err, why would my mousy mystic suddenly have the CON of a marathon runner? It's magic!"). Etc. I really don't mind these myself, especially if one makes an attempt to explain why. These are based on comic books after all. However, the point is, sometimes gaining…

Yes, i did it. I recently got a new toy at work. My new copier also scans documents into PDF files. I so very wanted to have a PDF of CKC that I carefully unbound My Precious and sacrificed my favorite Hero Sourcebook to the electronic beast. The output is delightful. I now have a PDF of CKC I can print, open in Photoshop and bookmark. Hooray. On a sadder note, my hardcopy book is no more. 120 or so loose pages. I thought about 3-hole punching and placing the pages in a binder. Any other ideas on how to put Humpty back together again?

I've heard of this a few places, but could someone give a rundown of what it is and how it works? I've heard its a good method of simulating Nigh Invulnerable Characters.

Well, it seems to be in most of my games. Almost all the character in any Champions games I have run (after the first two) have been female. By at least 2 to 1. I've a few all female teams. Mostly played by males. In fact, some of the few male supers are played by females. Anyone else ran into this?

Creative minds assemble! I have a solo game that I am forming an adventure for and I would like some input on the ideas and some approaches to the story I have in mind. First, a little about the solo character. Geist is a mentalist type character with the standard suite of powers (Ego Blast, TK, TP, Mind Link, etc.). He is not a physical fighter in the least. He is also permanently invisible and inaudible. He is a former police detective and, as a hero, is using his detective skills to fight crime. Think of him as sort of a psionic (instead of gadgets) Batman. The story plot is fairly simple. The primary villains, a team, has aquired information concernin…
