I'm thinking of giving my agent-level NPCs a new toy. 1D6 RKA, Standard Effect, AOE Radius, Penatrating, 1 Charge Per Day This attack will do 3 Body and 6 Stun in its AOE every time it's used. Now the 6 stun isn't likely to get through the PD of even a Compatent Normal, and most PCs have AT LEAST ten Resistant PD. But because it's Penatrating, it will ALWAYS inflict one Body an ANYONE who doesn't have Hardened Defenses. And because it will inflict one Body, it will ALSO break one Breakable Focus on EVERYONE in the AOE. I'm thinking of calling it an EMP Grenade, made just to take out the sensitive, non-hardened electronics that are in just about E…

Thought I'd post a LINK to let interested Champions players here see our team's new starship, Mjölnir. (Named after Thor's mystic hammer) MidGuard is currently in deep space, planning to tackle the mighty Ackalian Empire and prevent it from destroying or conquering Earth with a preemptive strike on the Ackalians (Since the Ackalians already tried to destroy Earth with a huge 35 KM asteroid.)

Global Guardians Campaign Looking For Two Players
by Guest Worldmaker- 8 replies
Global Guardians Team 2 is looking for a pair of heroes to fill the shoes of the recently departed Long Shot and Magni. The most successful submissions will be either bricks based on a mythological figure and weapons masters (with a preference for ranged weapons...), though other character types will be accepted. Those interested should contact the GM directly. ********** Campaign Description: The Global Guardians campaign is a high-powered PBEM campaign featuring the adventures of the Earth's premiere hero team. The player characters are the cream of the crop of the superhero world. Importance of the Player Characters: Very important. Not only …

Just wanted to let the DH playtesters/testreaders know that Hudson City is now available in the usual place. Looking forward to hearing your comments! Please note that I will be in London from Dec. 2-8, and thus unlikely to have much (if any) opportunity to check the playtest board, much less answer questions, so don't worry if you don't hear anything from me for a while. If you have any questions/comments, please post 'em in the "Company Questions" thread of the same title.

Before I start I want to reinstate: THIS IS FOR AN NPC, NOTHING MORE, THIS IS NOT TO BE TAKEN AS AN INSULT TO ANYONE, THIS IS ENTIRELY TO HELP ME PORTRAY A CERTAIN CHARACTER, I am sorry if this offends anyone. One of the characters (not player) in my game is asian (Chinese to be precise). Not to get into to much detail but I am looking for some racist expresions to color a NPC with, here is the hard part:The character is from the 50's and does not know he is insulting, this is alot more to do with ignorance and cultural norms of a by gone day than an actual attempt to degrade a character.

What are some of potential pitfalls of a campaign where the PCs are some of the first superhuman beings to appear in their world? Has anyone run one of these games long term? What were some of the high and low points?

In our monthly run yesterday our team MidGuard defeated Eurostar in a pitched battle on a tramp freighter in the Aegean Sea. We had no idea they were involved; we'd already defeated another villain team they'd treacherously set up as scapegoats and rescued the crew of a Russian nuclear sub. Eurostar had us on the ropes for a few seconds; at one time two of our 4 members were out and the other two were stunned, but a couple of seconds later we'd turned it around. My martial artist Zl'f got to strike the final blow that put Mentalla down, with a fabulously lucky 44 Stun generated with a 10d6 attack. (Mentalla even Ego Blasted Zl'f and stunned her while she was fighting Scor…

Just noticed, that with the new format, and since we all had to reinstate our login names, that I am now considered an Incompetent Normal. This isn't fair... I been posting since the board started, I should be more than a minor NPC by now... J/K

Well, UNTIL watches over the whole world, PRIMUS is American, and the Tiger Squad covers China. What other countries have their own super agencies? Has anyone created a regional PRIMUS counterpart for a country like Japan or Russia? What are they like?

Tonights game will involve a news story of an disaster in Glasgow, Scotland. Dr. Destroyer moves into Glasgow, Scotland with an explosive device connected to three large chambers with chemicals in them. The device slowly begins mixing the chemicals and starts a catalyst. While this is happening, a UK Superhero team moves in. Stasis manages to get Dr. Destroyer in a frozen state long enough for Blarney to punch him into orbit. Not having enough time to get the bomb diffused, the team decides that whatever chemicals are in the vat, taking away one of the mixtures has to be better than having all three. So Blarney breaks one of the chambers and Banshee uses her…

Hi guys, unfortunatly there will be a delay in starting the campaign. Last night while I was begining to type up the first post to start the game my monitor for my computer died. I am accessing the net from my local library but unforunatly they do not allow access to our group website for the campaign. My wife and I are planning on buying a complete new computer from Wal-Mart via layaway but I am not sure when we will be able, time line wise, to pay it off. Sorry for any inconvieniece this has caused you guys. But as I like to say "It happens with or without the sh in front of it" Sincerely, Chad McMinis a.k.a Corven_Ren G.M. Knights of New L.A.

Hi, I'm making a SuperVillian who is terminally ill and staves off death with regular infusions of the life-force of others. This doesn't kill the donor unless the process goes on too long. He needs a big piece of machinery to do it, and can store the life force in cannisters for (mis)use later. A usefull side effect of the process is that it gives the recipient of this life force some of the memories of the donor, and occasionally speech habits and mannerisms. The villain sometimes uses this as an information gathering technique, usually unknown to the donor. How do you build a power that affects a person but doesn't convey information untill a…

Ok, here goes. Your character is involved in a fight with some time manipulating supervillian. You are fighting him as well as some of his henchmen and right in the middle of the battle you are hit with some kind of temporal energy blast. You black out for a minute and when you come to you find yourself somewhat changed. You dressed in a WWII style uniform and gear. You are in some sort of boat full of soldiers dressed just like you. You are listening to the other guys and figured that somehow you have 'leaped into' the body of Sgt. Mike Reynolds of the U.S. Army. You are in a transport ship. The time is 1944, June 6 and you are arriving at the beaches o…

I'm franticly working on background material for a PBEM campaign where the players all play villains. As to how to handle the good guys, I've got that covered - PRIMUS, national heroes and a local sanctioned hero group. I've even a local super-powered vigilante and an anti-metahuman underground organization. My question is how to handle the PCs competition? I've worked Viper and Demon into the campaign, but I'm thinking about street level crime. DC handled street gang activity via Intergang. I've always considered Intergang to be a mistake even in a Silver Age setting. I much prefer Batman:Beyond's The Jokers. I'll probably do something like that, but base…

No elaborate scenario here. Just asking what your characters are doing for Thanksgiving (assuming the characters are from an appropriate setting for Thanksgiving). So, are they spending time with their family? Participating in the Macy's parade? Having dinner with the rest of the team? Going home alone? Just patrolling the streets or manning the monitors like a normal day? What are they doing on Thanksgiving Day?

Okay....drum roll please!! The final results are in, and it was, indeed, a squeeker. The standings for the First Champions Modding Contest are.... 1st: The Monster by Keyes_Bill 2nd: Gargoyle by Redmenace 3rd: Black Harlequin by Myrlyn 4th: Dark Seraph by Blue 5th: Occulon by Magmarock Congratulations to everyone who entered!!! All of the mods and paint jobs were top notch, and the voting was TIGHT! I can guarantee if I hadn't restricted placement voting to the top 3, it would have been even closer. If we get some more entries next time around (Hint, hint.. nudge, nudge...) we'll expand it to the top 5 votes. So what's next? Simple…

I was originally going to post this in the animated character thread but did not want to bog it down. This is an idea that I played around with. I will post the premise and characters and then some drawing that I did that are kind of cartoony. Hope you guys like it.

Okay, so here's the deal: Consider this an open forum for any Thug-for-hire, "blackmask", Super-goon, whatever you want to call 'em that you have in your supers games in the 225 to 750 point range. Enforcers Inc. is an open-enrollment at will temp to perm type of deal, so any freelancer with a decent rep can get jobs thru them as well as thier "on-staff" regular contractors.Think of the deal Dan Ackroyd's character was trying to set up in Gross Pointe Blank crossed with Heros for Hire crossed with the type of characters that live in Steeljack's neighborhood in Astro City crossed with technical recruiter/contractors like TekSystems and you've got the basic idea. The fo…

Imagine if you will that something lives in the abscence of lightt darkness itself is alive. Now imagine that you could manipulate lviing darkenss not only to create darkness fields but also to do other effects. And imagine the darkenss was sentient.... One could easily imagine a darkenss-manipulator who controlled existing darkness would be utterly formidable at ngith (so much more darkness to manipulate!), somewhat elss so during the day, and could lose access to a lot of his powers if put under a spotlight or other extreme forms of illumination.

We all know Peter Parker's Spider-Man... But in Japan, he gets to drive some neat vehicles including a giant robot called Leopardon! And now... Spider-man: India! It's a modern take on an Indian Spider-Man's origin (a young kid named Pavitr Prabhakar). It's an interesting take in the light of J.M.S.' spider avatar bit in the comics. Would you allow spider avatars elsewhere in your universe?

Redwood/Raptors Players stay out! All right, now that that's taken care off, I'm looking for suggestions, seeds even full fledged write up for a Religious order of Superhuman teens, basically the Vatican's secret strike force of "specials" (the term for Superhumans in the Redwood/Raptors world). They would be in the 200-250 point range with 40 active point powers with strong religoous themes. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Hi folks. I'm new to the boards but not to the system, though I only just got the 5th edition recently. I've talked a friend into GMing a superhero campaign, now, and all that remains for me is to finish hammering together a solid hero. Problem is, I'm kind of stuck. And that's where you fine Hero gamers come in! The gist of my concept at the moment is that the character is the son of an evil mastermind, someone on par with Fu Manchu, Ra's Al Ghul, or the Kingpin. He is taken away from this villain and adopted by a nice family, growing up relatively normally until tragedy strikes and his father's agents try to "reclaim" him. His adoptive family is slain some ti…

Creating the power H to H Reflection 1 2

I have a teleport specialist who creates Local Gates that he uses for missile reflection. I would like to create a power that would simulate the effect of reflecting a hand to hand attack as well (effectively setting up a gate to intercept a punch who's terminating point would be inches from the attackers face)
