One of my players posed this question: Is there a way to construct a power that you'd bounce off of a wall you were knocked back into? (He's looking for a way to eliminate/reduce damage from knockback. The character already has Breakfall.) Thoughts? Take care, Harry

Okay, after asking Steve some questions I feel a need to write this up, it is actualy for a character that is different from the one I am naming the effect after (Jerico of the Titans) As seen right now Mind Control, Transdimensional, Telepathic, can not be used to command the use of non physical powers (based on F/X), this lim represents the fact that if he posseses a mystic he will not be able to cast the spells (such as flight) the character has learned, but could fly is he possesed a Cap Marvel type clone, this is a -1/4 Clarsentience (Radio, Sight, Touch, Taste, hearing, smell), only through the sense of another, transdimensional, this again will have …

I'm thinking of a power with has a radius or either 1 or 2 miles. However, for various reasons, I also want to know how many acres are in a 1 and/or 2 mile radius power. Can any of you math wizards give me the answers?

COOL. I am impresseed with this book It has so many useful abilities and a bit in the back with examples of adapting towards other (a mix and match and gadget) kind of like the chinese gods in CKC. I was also over all impressed with the art a great deal. Nato, Eric Lofgren, Storn Cook, Chris Stevens, Bryce Nakawaga, and Greg Smith have really nice pieces in there. I particularly liked Nato's rendition of the Eurostar vs Gravitar tussle. Eric's Lofgren's depiction of Summer Cloud (apparently a member of China's Tiger Squad) was mmmmmgoood. I also like the artist who did the Morph vs Ironclad illo on page 175. I just don't know which of the listed authors he is. His wo…

I've got a character I'm making for a Golden Age game. The hero name is "Sergeant Victory" (tentative if you want to suggest alternatives). SV is a boxer of legend-worthy ability who retired early and funnelled his prize-money into a very successful engineering firm. The firm does a lot of defense contracting and worked up a "bullet-resistant" material which was abandoned because it wasn't cost effective. SV took the remaining experimental material and fashioned a star-spangled costume (attached) and now gives the Axis a one-two for America! What I need help with is his secret ID name -- and nickname. See, he's an ex-prize fighter. So I'm looking to make a name/nic…

I mentioned in another thread that it was a rare team that had one of each of the 11 'official' archetypes. That got me thinking. Let's see, Defender- Powered Armor Ironclad- Brick Nighthawk- Mmm, I've heard folks declare him more Martial Artist than Gadgeteer, and vice versa. You decide which (or both) he is for yourself. Sapphire- Energy Projector Witchcraft- Mystic And our Auxilary member(if you want to call him that), Kinetik is, of course, a speedster That leaves an empty niche to fill in the Mentalist, Metamorph, Patriot, and Weapon Master slots; With an option for either Gadgeteer or Martial Artist (whatever is opposite of what you think Night…

Ok, again I am working on this concept of the operator / robots. Im buying the robots as Followers, with the understanding if one gets destroyed, he is not avialable for the next game sesson(s). One of the things the Operator wants to do, is to have the robot link into the computer or security system. The robot then links in the operator with either High Range Radio Listen and Transmit or some sort of Mind Link combinations. Then the operator will use HIS skills over that link. How do I do this? Do I buy skills, useable at range, with a level or two of (*GAH*) megascale, and then an OAF robot?, but I could program in person, so I wouldnt ALWAYS need th…

Inspired by Enforcer's post: http://herogame.dans.cust.servlets.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2315 I have decided to use Apache Chief, Black Vulcan, Samurai and El Dorado as templates for some characters, with an XP bonus to the player who guesses who I based them off of. The set up for these characters: All are mutants and were once heroes, but for one reason or another, have joined the equivalent of my campaign's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. What I have so far: Black Vulcan is now Master AC (thank you Hermit for another great character suggestion), Hip Hop master of electricity. He's pretty much set. The character based on Samurai i…

Hey I was just wondering, we as a group here seem to be a bit down on the established companies (comics, gaming) for their handling of minority heroes. Here are four heroes chosen at random:D A Native American hero with growth powers. An African American hero with flight, electrical powers, and limited superhuman durability An Asian American hero with wind manipulation particularly whirlwinds and finally, a South American hero with a suite of nebulous "magic" abilities, at least including flight, Super human Strength and Durability, invisiblity, etc, heck he might be a DC Martian. anyway, what would you A) Name these characters, and what wo…

I saw an old Marvel comic that had an interesting addition to Iron Man's armor. He was fighting against a psychic that knocked him out with a psi-blast. At that point, the battlesuit's combat computer kicked in, played a prerecorded message saying that Iron Man had expected that, then the battlesuit proceeded to attack the psychic. Now I was wondering, how could I do this in Champions? I toyed with several options, before coming up with a method. I wanted to see if this fits within the rules. First, buy extra STUN, with the OIF Battlesuit limitation. Second, have a small (5-10 point) physical limitation that when the character takes enough STUN to be negati…

I want to simulate a character who has a battlemecha/motorcyle combination à la Invid Invasion from Robotech. He carries a light body armor and drives a high-tech motorcycle. So far, no problem. However, if he wants to, he can combine the body armor and the motorcycle into a man-sized battlemecha (armor and cycle effectively transform into one bigger exoskeleton). How do I simulate this? Is the big battlemecha a limited multiform (value of limitation?), or is it something else? How would you solve this problem?

Im an old school Champions player, who remembers when the BBB came out. Now after years of working in Corporate America, my old college buddies and I have decided to do an Internet Champions campaign. So armed with new technology, We have figured out a way to have voice over IP, a game mat everyone can see, and everything needed for a good nights fun. However As long term GM, im pulling together a character that is mostly NPC. My concept is a normal human techno-genius that will stay home at the "base" while the PCs go out and fight. He has two powers that IM trying to figurt out the best way. 1) He as several robots agents that can go out and help the PCs …

The two sea lords faces one another (some Trickster...transported in one another's universe...hypnotized...the usual) near a small coastal town. One of them is too much. What should happen then? A few years ago, DC/Marvel crossover made harpoon-handed Aquaman win by the way of trickery. They also make Wolverine win over Lobo in the same serie, so I guess we take it at a subjective level after all. (And how do you rate them in HERO terms anyway? Who is strongest for instance?)

Hey Herophiles. I need to make sure that this power will work the way I want it to. My character is a speedster, and I'd really like for him to be able to grab bullets or other light physical missiles out of the air before they hit their targets. This would be used to keep thugs from firing on a trembling mob of bystanders, or to protect teammates from a hail of agent fire (assuming non-energy weapons...hard to catch plasma.) I've built the power as Missle Deflection, up to Bullets and Shrapnel, and selected the Full Range option w/ MD, w/ the SFX being that I can run around the group catching all ranged attacks fired at them, and would start my next phase from the sa…

I want to simulate a character who has an innate understanding of every machine and apparatus he touches. Although he never studied engineering or anything else in that direction, he just knows how to operate this device or that machine. He can fly a plane or even an alien starship without really having a clue about its inner workings. Same for everything else; he can work it, but doesn't really understand HOW it works. He could repair a car but never really tell what it was that he just did. How do I simulate that power? My approach is a small Variable Power Pool (maybe 30 pts.) to give him every Skill necessary to do the job at hand. Does this sound okay to you, or do…

I'm running a Champions game at CONduit in Salt Lake City this weekend. My hard drive crashed a couple of monthes ago and I lost the my set of pre-made characters I use at cons. Would people be willing to send me any characters you think a Champions newbie could play? I'm looking for for a basic brick, EP, Martial Artist, and Egoist especially. I know I could use the Champions group, but I have other plans for them (BWHAHAHA!!!). I can accept files in most formats including Hero Designer. Many Thanks In Advance, Mike

I'm playing a telekinetic character with very fine control, along with some limitations, and am always looking for creative ways to make use of this (since TK is one of the oldest power concepts, this is basically finding new bottles for old wine). One of the things I'm pitching to my GM is the idea of the PC using his own body as a sort of puppet - he visualizes where it will move and what it will do, resulting in as much agility as he can accurately visualize. Here's what I've been able to come up with to start with. Buy DEX +10 with the following: Nonpersistent (-1/4), No Figured Stats (-1/2), RSR: KS: Anatomy (-1/4), Side Effects: stress fractures or broken…

So, anyone have some ideas for Artifical Intelligence Computers? I hear great concepts for Heroes and villains, organizations and adventures. So, if you're willing: List some AIs you've either known and liked, or would love to create but never had the chance to. I'm thinking more Base Computer types, as those are in demand, but any others are welcome I'll try to think of a good one of my own to contribute.

...as in what you've seen in Matrix Reloaded? So far, I'm looking at a pretty hefty multi-pool, using the whole "stop bullets" as a tricky form of Missile Deflection, various movement powers (to represent battle leaping and flying), and a LOT of martial arts skills. ;-) What did I miss?
