(Flips through issue six of the Eclipse Champions mini-series to the Champions Comments) "Dear Dennis, et al: Let it be herewith known that I, Bob Greenwade, think that the Champions comic book is a great idea. I own copies of the complete rules for, and frequently play, the game version of CHAMPIONS. It's only fitting that the first game characters to get their own real comic should be the Champions, including Icestar, the very first of the CHAMPIONS role-playing characters. In short, I like it! I like it! Bob Greenwade" (Browses through Hero Fifth books) The Ultimate Vehicle Authors: Bob Greenwade, Steven S. Long YOu've come a l…

Okay this is borderline rules question, borderline "How to", and as I like rules debates I have placed it here for the whole world to chime in on, but would still like Steve's opinino on it Character concept is Similar to Deuce from Millenium City, except I see the dup dying more often, as such would like to build in some saftey features I am thinking Healing with the regeneration option is the most appropriate (From death and Limbs), Also thinking of making it cost Endurance, fed off a end reserve, the problem here is that the dup is to "shatter" if it dies and return to the characters body to heal (note I also don't want it to be ABLE to heal body damage ex…

I want to use two scarecrow images. One obviously is the Scarecrow but what could I possibly call the other ? And no Worzel Gummage is not an option. I just cannot think of or find another word for a Scarecrow. Ideas ?

Hey all, I'm building a Weather controlling character for an upcoming Champions game (revamping old 250 base pt characters to 350 pt base). I've kinda run into a brick wall with power ideas and I'd like to see what some of you have to offer. So, if you've got a Weather Controlling character, cool or original power construct, or just a new way of doing an old standby and wanna show it off, here's the place to do it. thanx all, MANCER

http://www.bigfella.com/base.dir/BASE.html Just wanted to post this link. Its from the website of one of my favorite illustrators, B.J. Johnson a.k.a. "BigFella". Hes also a gamer, and has placed his "Heros Unlimited" campaign info on the web just recently it looks like. Click on the link and take a peak. The artwork and setting is a real treat. Don't hesitate to check out his other art gallery's too. His "Gamma World" stuff and "Joe Violence" are fantastic.

After accidently posting this in the wrong forum... Okay, after doing some much thinking, I'm starting up an Alternate Version of X-Men, but in mine almost none of the X-Men exists (those who do are bad guys). However, I'm stuck as far as writing up those I'm keeping. My current set up for the Mutant Brotherhood is as follows: Mageneto (whom I'm almost finished with, though would be nice to see some other takes on him) Mystique (thinking of going with a Secret Agent type with Shapeshifting powers (BTW, has anyone heard of her changing into anythign NOT Human/Mutant?)). Nightcrawler - gonna go with a speed 6 Teleporter with Martial Arts Rogue …

Okay, so there's no cheese, but it seemed Just Right. Anyways, here's what I've got. Cybermind in my campaign, at the moment, is an 18 year old african american living in North Detroit. He lives with his two younger sisters, and is apparently the supporter of the two. He has yet to dawn the name or costume Cybermind, just yet. Unfortunately, the New Purple Gang has him under their thumb. They know where he lives, they know where his kid sister likes to play, and for the time being, they have Cybermind on their payroll. Cybermind doesn't like this, but since he has the guns pointed at him... The NPG was hired by a corporate head to 'send a message' to…

I was looking over Teleios today, and I noticed one power that he didn't have that surprised me by its absence: Life Support (Immunity to Disease). As a perfect human, shouldn't he have a perfect immune system? I know he has his VPP built around biochemical powers, but it looks like he could be hit by a disease-based power that was fast-acting and be downed before he could even think of shifting his points. It just struck me as an odd gap in his write-up.

Here's an NPC I had wander into my campaign when a PC was slapping around some punks looking for information. Didn't really decide what the individual could do (Or how to do them) but the desired effect worked. The ominmous sound of a harley thrums the air, the punks went rigid, and in drives a spiked out biker, with a 'grinning pumpkin' helmet (Cookie for who knows the reference of this). One of the thugs shot the biker, the helmet goes off... and there's no head. The biker snatched the gun up with a chain around the waist, unloaded the clip into its' downed helmet, then shattered the gun with an axe strapped to its' back. 'Looked' at the PC, contacted him, then sent the…

Here is a neat question. I, at my players behest, am going to be running a "X-Men type campaign." However, the characters are not mutants. I am pretty sure I know what I am going to do, but I am wonderiing what HEROdom out there would do. How would you run the "underground" super team campaign without mutants?

Help I'm at work without my Hero book -- horrors! I'm trying to compose some guidelines for my Champions group to spend XP. and I can't remember the standards for defenses / CV's and Attacks. The characters have earned 31 XP over the course of the game so far and I want to increase the power levels a bit. (Most have been hording points for a while now.) I'm thinking about increasing the AP for attacks from 60 to 70, but I'm blanking on "average" defenses and CV's what would you suggest? I want to send out an email today so they have time to think about things. Again, this is pretty much a standard 4-color Champions campaign, using CKC villians, etc. …

[Well, I've read through TUV, and started putting it to good use. My inital offering is Leona Ozaki's mini-tank from the anime/manga Dominion. Although an SF/Comedy series, I'm posting it here as it makes for a good super-villian vehicle. In fact, all my vehicle updates will go here, as most make good superhero gaming vehicles. Alright you fine people, as you may have guessed from the topic, I've thought up a new villain and would like to get your suggestions for powers and such. The villain is called Mack the Knife, yes the guy from the song of the same name. Since he's a villain with his very one song he's going to be famous in my game world, almost an urban legend. That said, what powers should the guy have? I mean obviously he's got the knife, but what else?

It's time for me to once again prove my presumptiousness and egotism. Seriously, I need to know what you, the paying customer of Hero Games, want out of a non-Champions Universe supplement to the Champions roleplaying game. What you need out of the book. Work on Meriquai Falls goes according to my Master Plan. I am rewriting the material originally given in the Digital Hero articles with an eye on detail and accessibility... Now that Millennium City is out, I have a perfect model on how to arrange the information. Once I get my hands on character creation software (which will be either the end of this week or early next week), I'll begin finalizing characte…

Here's a creative project for tonight. Lets piece together an Area 51 for the Champions setting. What's in it? Who runs it? What is it's purpose? Here's my addition: One of the various research projects at Area 51 is geneticly altering intelligence agents. The goal is to have agents that look as though they are unaltered humans, but are acually much more dangerous. A few of the abilities that they are working on are... Increased Brain Mass: Eidetic Memory, Lightning Calculator, +10 Int 18pts No Pain: Damage Reduction 75%, Only Versus Stun (-1/2) 30pts Hardened Knuckles: 4d6 HA 20pts Feel free to add on your own ideas. Here's what I'm trying to construct ... the character teleports for her primary method of movement. The special effect is converting her body to energy, transmitting it, and reassembling at the destination. Now, for an attack, I'm trying to figure out how to set it up so that the energy damages someone or something as she passes through it, kind of like becoming a 'living energy blast' for a split second. She doesn't have to use it as an attack, though. Somehow, just linking an EB to the Teleport doesn't seem to work right, at least in my head ... any help?

I have some Demons for my PCs to fight that have an aura of unearthly "beauty" about them, that tends to make mortals stand in awe. I've currently built it as a mind control, but it works kinda "clunky". Ex:On the Demons action, roll effect; on the PCs action(possibly), roll to breakout. How would everyone else build this?? I know I've seen this discussed here before but just wanted to throw out a reminder to the powers that be... Would love to have a PDF version of the MC map available to download and printing. Something done with vector graphics (did I say that right??) so it can be nicely scaled up without pixelating out would be awesome. I've got a great 2pageX2page printout of Freedom City to add my own notes to and would love to have the same for Millienium City.

I have a long list for folks: Ankylosaur Armadillo Black Diamond Blowtorch Bluejay Brainchild Cheshire Cat Cybermind ESPER Fenris Foxbat Herculan Hornet Hummingbird Hypnos Lady Blue Lazer Leech Medusa Morningstar Stormfront Thorn Thunderbolt 2 Warbird Warcry Warhead Warmonger Warpath Zigzag What all these characters from Conquerers, Killers, and Crooks have in common is they are 350 pts. Now, I can be as lazy as the next person (lazier even ) but has anyone taken one of these guys (or gals) and used them to write up a hero of their own yet? or at least as a guideline for such?

Okay, Herophiles. I recently started work on a champions campaign for my new group that's finally going to be starting up shortly. I don't have it typed up yet, but here's the basic premise. Please let me know what you think. I'm open to any input, suggestions etc and am not very much above using blantant rip-offs. Mutant Hysteria Campaign: Starting sometime during WWII, Hitler began several eugenics programs to build his 'Master Race'. Unlike the real world, however, latent mutant genes exist in the Human race. Hitler discovers this, and begins testing to determine the best way to turn this to his advantage. He starts his experimental program with the help …
