I was thinking today about 4 color campaigns and players taking a bunch of psych lims to represent their heroic code of ethics. Why not just have one generic psych lim, varying by campaign? 4 Color Heroic Code: won't kill respects the law protects the innocent always keeps their word patriotic Very common, strong or total: 20-25 points Given that this is basically a convention of the classic 4-color genre, I think even this is pretty generous. It's not really as much of a disad if it's expected behavior.

Upon getting a "sponsor" to allow him to speak, the Destroyer approached the podium and looked out at the stunned diplomats of the world. Representatives of the various nations of earth listened as the Destroyer announced a "new world order". Gone were the days of American hegemony and domination. No longer would the poorest nations be forced to sell their labor and their souls to serve the masters of the "economic north". To everyone's surprise (given the leader of the new world order), only those nations that wished to join would be included within this new world order. Several nations, seeking an end to their economic plight, and hoping for some protection fro…

This plot came to me the other day at work. I live in Utah, right up in the moutains. We had a storm come through the other night and start some brushfires up on the moutaintops- I could see the first and the planes fighting it from work. With a western draught, and dry woodsy stuff all over the west, fires are in the paper a lot. So I go thinking, some superviallian gets control of a laser death sat. Rather than going after people, he (maybe a terrorist dunno) hits 4-8 times in a few hundered yard circle, move a few miles off and does it again, with the purpose of starting the entire western third of the USA on fire, with massive brush and wildfires. Questions …

It would probably be simple to model a villain whose major attack power was to transport his enemies to a pocket dimension 9(a sort of pocket Hell) and trap them there for etermity (or until some can get in there to plukc them out, by which time they might well be quite mad from the painand fear they've suffered). the attack would have two parts -- the act of teleporting the person from their present dimension to the pocjket Hell, and a Continuous NND EGO attack against the victim while he is there (which applies to anyone who enters the dimension, even briefly). Perhaps the villain thinks he really is opening one-way portals to the real Hell....

I'm still waiting to play the game, but I decided my martial artist was just too serious of a character. "Con" here seems like a lot more fun to play. There are extra dis-ads for the GM selection. Anything here you wouldn't let fly as a GM, or things you can suggest doing differently? Also, can someone come up with a healing focus more in character? ------------------------------------------------------ Background Constantine "Con" VorSmyth was a typical gnomish wizard/tinkerer. He is very good at making magical artifacts to do specific things. His culture is up to steam powered, but they combine machanical and magical to do some interesting stuff. He l…

I currently own... Fred UNTIL Superpowers Database Champions I'm contemplating purchasing Champions Universe, Millenium City, or Killer/Crooks. I can only afford one or two. Which ones do you recommend for the new GM? Thanks!

Every time a Where Are They Now-type show features Willie Aames, it always makes mention of his current project--the Christian superhero Bibleman. From what I've seen of the character in the clips they show, and in visits to the website, it looks like a good job--I like the costume, and he packs a lightsaber. You can't go too far wrong with a lightsaber, right? I admit, I haven't seen the videos--they're not available for rent anywhere I've looked, and I'm not inclined to buy them. Can anyone who's seen them come up with a review? And if you have seen them, did you try to make up the character in Champions terms? Many thanks in advance.

I have a new charector that I am trying to find a name for. He is a gadgeteer/highly trained normal, that rides a hover board w/clinging (think extreme Skate/snow board) and uses two light saber looking escrima/kali sticks for combat. They do impact dmg instead of cutting.... Any ideas?

I am hoping to find someone who is interested in running a Champs game. I've had some experience with PBEM games as well as FtF games. Without letting this slip into personals-ad like tone, I'd be psyched to 'meet' the right small group (3-5 players?) of folks who're looking to have a fun, funny, online game. Respond in this forum and we'll get something going. Thx, Speedy

Greetings, I have a player that has come up with a character concept he wants to play in a game. He is unsure how to make it, so I said I would put it out to see if anyone here might be able to come up with anything. He wants to play a character that can pick up on skills effortlessly, but can't remember them for super long. In essence, he would be able to duplicate what he has seen others do, but the skill wouldn't last very long. FREd mentions that you can purchase skills as powers. I was thinking of something like a VPP with limitations: only usable on skills; must have witnessed skill being used by someone within last 30 days. Does that sound…

Well. I have shown this list a character here and there from TEAM gold so I thought I would group them here (the three that I made so far). I will expand the background for my site one of these days. Basically The Desmond Foundation (An R&D think tank) were given a project and a large budget. Thier mission was to do with science what an Alchemy book Mister Author Desmond purchased from an old estate sale. Well. One of the scientists on the project has in his collection an original of a book on alchemy in the original Language. He discovered that there was a way to give a mortal powers beyong imagination. This scientist went about rigging the ot…

Thinking back on my many years of gaming, there have been a few low points. What's your worst experience during a game?

OK I came up with this idea last night as I was falling asleep. A groups of villians/agents all based around a dragon motif. However I do not want a group of viper clones, nor all the guys be all martial artist/(insert archetype) of oriental bent. Also I am wondering why a group of disparate villians would possibly agree to come together or beformed. So anysuggestions for members and background? Any suggestions welcome. Jerome

Ok the question here is simple, I'm thinking of starting a game set in Millenium City and part of that game is obviously going to involve ARGENT [as you may have guessed from the subject ] but I'm not sure how best to use them. After all, I don't want them to seem like just a Viper clone or AIM wannabes or something. So what I'm asking is, do any of you have ideas for effectively using ARGENT?

OK peoples, I've got pretty good responses to my last few posts, so here's another one. What's your favorite moment while playeing champions? Mine happended when I had one of the players introduce a new character. The "hero" was actually a plant placed there by one of palyers major foes to gain info on them. We worked out everything in advance, and I had the guy betray them in the misdst of a major battle with the villain. Worked out better than I expected. No one thought about checking the "heros" creds before excepting him into the group.

Interested in comments on this one. It's a bit of a departure for me, but it really seemed to work in a "wish-fulfillment" sense. I mean, if I lived in a world with supers, this is the character I personally would want to BE. Background: A brilliant cyberneticist trapped in a body with a degenerative condition (Holy Stephen Hawking!). Designed an android body and transferred his mind into it. Dr. Steele does not have the Data "I want to be human (again)" syndrome in the slightest. He loves being an android, thinks synthetic is vastly superior to biological, and would never ever go back to being "mere flesh and blood". Doctor Steele Val Ch…

Okay break out your vampire and shield slinging patriots. taking a cue from the Dr. Steele post by Arthur; if you had 350 points and could turn yourself into a superhero, what would you be? Sadly, I myself havn't been able to shake the immortal with the powers of superman phase but I am sure there would not be cookie cutter characters printed here. Anyone up for it? Mine is on the way.

And out of curiosity, I was looking for my "namesake". I've been using Proditor as my nethandle for ages....and I'll admit I shamelessly lifted it from V&V. I was getting so frustrated when Hotmail first came out, that in the end, ole Proditor Capella from Opponents Unlimited lept to mind. Thus was a handle born. (And a Changeling PC, House Scatath, but that's another story) Fast forward 8 or so years to today when I finally look up the word... PROD'ITOR, n. [L.] A traitor. [Not in use.] Now that will teach me not to use a word/name without looking it up first....

I have a quick question for all you “hero heads†out there. What point cost are you all currently running in your groups? We are using 5th ed rules to run 265(ish) point characters. I think that this is due to the fact the a majority of the villains in my groups game a home brew verity, and built under 4th ed @ 250 points. I have found the character creation process to be much more fun at the higher levels. You seem to have the points to put in some “cool†stuff that may or may not be totally effective but is fun to have on the character. So the root question here is what power level are y’all runnin’, and do you enjoy it. Also lets say…

I've been really looking forward to Champions Battlegrounds. It says the release date is July 2003. Seeing how it is now August, when can I expect to see it in stores? Also, are there any other module books out there a new GM could start to use? Thank you.
